Gladiator – S Tier
Gladiator combines strong DPS with impressive durability.
Recent data shows a Gladiator around 4,915 item level averaging roughly 986K DPS, with a peak of around 1.38 million DPS. That makes the class a serious contender even before considering its defensive capabilities.
The obvious weakness is melee positioning. However, Gladiators are considerably more forgiving than squishier melee classes.
With enough gear, they can even contribute substantial DPS while functioning as a dungeon tank.
Assassin – S Tier
If maximum theoretical DPS is your priority, Assassin deserves serious attention.
The problem is that this damage comes with significant risks. Assassins are relatively fragile and require excellent positioning to maximize backstab damage.
A player who focuses too heavily on maintaining perfect positioning can easily react too slowly to mechanics.
However, better gear can solve part of this problem. With stronger defensive stats and sufficient gear progression, Assassin becomes much more comfortable while retaining its enormous damage ceiling.
Sorcerer – S Tier
Sorcerer mains already know what their class can do.
Its theoretical damage ceiling is extremely high, and live data continues to support that reputation. If two classes simply stand still and attack a training dummy, Sorcerer can outperform Ranger.
Real encounters are different, though.
Boss movement, animation locks, and abilities such as Hellfire or Firewall can significantly reduce effective damage. Ranger's mobility therefore gives it better real-world damage uptime, even if Sorcerer has greater theoretical DPS.
Spiritmaster – A to S Tier
Spiritmaster has improved dramatically since launch.
Recent PvE changes have strengthened Spirit scaling and significantly improved spirit survivability, including 80% PvE damage resistance for spirits.
Because these changes are relatively recent, the available sample size is still smaller than for some other classes. However, current statistics suggest Spiritmaster is reaching new performance highs.
It is now a much more comfortable class from leveling through endgame PvE.
Chanter – PvE King?
Chanter may not always top the personal DPS chart, but judging it only by its own damage misses the point.
Its real strength is group contribution.
Chanter combines respectable damage with powerful buffs and support abilities. This can dramatically increase the overall performance of an entire party.
For example, a Ranger might deal around 1.4 million personal DPS while reaching approximately 2.5 million raid-contributing DPS through external buffs. A Chanter dealing 2.9 million personal DPS could contribute around 4.3 million RDPS when its support effects are included.
That is why Chanter deserves an exceptionally high PvE ranking.
Templar and Cleric
Templar and Cleric are not expected to dominate pure DPS rankings because their primary value goes beyond damage.
Both provide important defensive, healing, and support capabilities while still needing to deal enough damage to participate effectively in loot requirements.
For Genus farming, Cleric is highly capable, while Templar benefits from strong mobility and shield-based movement.
Final Aion 2 Class Ranking
At higher gear levels, classes have more opportunity to fully express their intended mechanics. Around 6,000+ gear score, the differences between classes become particularly interesting.
