Summary

Path of Exile 2 version 0.5.5 did not significantly change the endgame farming landscape. Only a small number of strategies were nerfed, while most of the strongest farming methods remain effective. That means players can still build their endgame economy around several proven strategies, depending on their character strength, clear speed, and knowledge of the mechanics.

If your goal is to generate large amounts of currency, the key is not simply choosing the most profitable strategy. You also need to understand which farms fit your character and how much investment each one requires. To cover those upfront costs, buy POE2 Currency and secure the gear.

Here are the best PoE 2 0.5.5 farming strategies, ranked from S-tier to B-tier.

S-Tier Farming Strategies

The strongest strategies in the current patch are Expedition, Omen Abyss farming, Breach Highblood farming, and the Deli/Lineage Watchstone strategy. These methods can generate excellent returns, but some require a powerful character or more advanced knowledge.

1. Expedition Farming

Expedition remains the best overall farm in the current endgame.

Even though Outer Saga is no longer available, the strategy itself remains largely unchanged. The source considers Expedition "by far" the best farm in the game, although it is also one of the more difficult options.

The biggest requirement is having a character capable of handling heavily juiced Expeditions. A strong build can make this much easier, while low-budget characters may struggle when pushing the investment too high.

Once your character is ready, the important step is learning how to properly run Expedition. Knowing what to select and how to approach the encounters becomes increasingly important as you gain experience.

The source's Expedition setup from version 0.5 remains applicable in 0.5.5 aside from the removal of Outer Saga, making this the primary recommendation for players who want maximum currency potential.

2. Omen Abyss Farming

Omen Abyss farming is another extremely strong and consistent option.

This strategy focuses on farming Omens and other valuable loot while using properly prepared maps and sufficient juice. With the right setup, you can generally expect around one or two Omen Lights per map, with the possibility of getting even more.

Abyssal Depths are especially valuable. They received a major buff during the previous league, making them worth fully clearing. They can provide a large amount of valuable Echoes along with additional Omen Lights.

The source currently recommends a Helder setup because it can make obtaining cheaper tablets easier, although several different Abyss setups are possible.

For players who want a consistent currency farm without relying entirely on rare jackpot drops, Omen Abyss is an excellent choice.

How to Improve Abyss Returns

Use appropriate maps and increase your juice when your character can safely handle it. Fully clear Abyssal Depths rather than skipping them, since their improved rewards make them an important part of the strategy.

3. Breach Highblood Farming

Breach Highblood farming is another S-tier strategy, particularly for characters with excellent clear speed.

One major advantage is that you do not have to run Cities. Travel Maps can be used instead, although Cities remain the stronger option according to the source.

The biggest limitation is character speed. A slow character will not get the same returns because this strategy depends heavily on clearing content efficiently.

Maximizing your Divines per hour also requires a higher level of crafting knowledge. Players who understand the relevant Breach crafting options can push the strategy considerably further.

If you want something simpler, there are Breach setups that require less crafting knowledge. However, for maximum profit, understanding the crafting side of the strategy is important.

4. Deli / Lineage Watchstone Farming

The Deli/Lineage Watchstone strategy is particularly attractive as a starter endgame farm.

The basic approach is to run three Lineage tablets while hunting Cities, Anomalies, and Matriarch and Patriarch Halls. This allows you to target valuable boss rewards while also generating Simulacrums.

You can also spawn Grand Mirrors through this strategy. These can be used to generate Delirium and effectively provide additional Simulacrums that you can run yourself.

Simulacrums remain valuable throughout the league because items such as Voices can command very high prices.

However, this strategy requires a capable character. Some Cities and Matriarch Halls may need to be completed in heavily juiced maps, and the high Watchstone drop chance can result in maps where you effectively have no spare portals.

For strong characters, this makes the strategy extremely powerful. For weaker builds, it can become risky.

A-Tier Farming Strategies

Several strategies remain profitable but have either been weakened by patch changes or are more dependent on market prices.

Breach Rares

Breach Rares was directly affected by one of the notable 0.5.5 nerfs.

The number of rares that can spawn from a tablet was reduced from three to two. This lowers the overall value compared with the previous version.

Because of that change, the source ranks Breach Rares as A-tier instead of its previous S-tier position.

It remains a worthwhile farming method, but players should account for the reduced rare monster density when comparing its returns against the strongest strategies.

Ritual Farming

Ritual farming has also fallen in value because Ritual now appears in every map.

With more players farming Ritual, the supply of valuable Omens has increased. As a result, Omen prices are lower than they were previously, reducing the profitability of a dedicated Ritual farming strategy.

That does not mean Ritual is bad. Its value can rise again if Omen prices increase significantly.

For now, however, the source considers pure Ritual farming an A-tier strategy rather than S-tier.

B-Tier Starter Farming

Currency Abyss / Hard Level Farming

The recommended B-tier starter strategy combines Currency Abyss farming with Hard Level farming.

Its biggest advantage is accessibility. You do not need highly optimized tablets to get started, and even one-mod tablets can be sufficient.

This makes it a practical option for the first day of a league, when your character and resources are still developing.

The downside is that the strategy does not scale particularly well. In addition, Hard Level appears to be significantly rarer in the current patch according to the source.

It is unclear whether that lower availability comes from Ritual appearing in every map or from another change, so this should be treated as an observation rather than a confirmed nerf.

How to Choose Your Farming Strategy

The best farm ultimately depends on your character.

If you have a powerful build that can comfortably handle difficult encounters, Expedition should be the first strategy to consider. It offers the highest overall potential according to the source.

For consistent Omen income, Omen Abyss is an excellent alternative. Characters with very fast clear speed can also take advantage of Breach Highblood, while strong builds capable of handling difficult Cities and boss encounters can use the Deli/Lineage Watchstone strategy.

If you are just entering endgame, start with Currency Abyss/Hard Level farming and gradually transition into more demanding strategies as your character improves.

The important lesson from PoE 2 0.5.5 is that profitability comes from matching the strategy to your build. A theoretically stronger farm is not necessarily better if your character clears it slowly or dies frequently.

Final Ranking

For the current patch, the source's recommended farming hierarchy is:

S-tier: Expedition, Omen Abyss, Breach Highblood, Deli/Lineage Watchstone

A-tier: Breach Rares, Ritual Farming

B-tier: Currency Abyss / Hard Level Farming

Most importantly, 0.5.5 did not fundamentally change the strongest endgame farms. Expedition remains the top choice, while Abyss, Breach, Delirium, Lineage, and Ritual all provide viable alternatives depending on your build, investment, and the current value of their rewards. To adapt quickly and fund whichever farm suits you best, POE2 Currency can help you secure the gear.
