Mastering Gear and Progression Guide in Throne and Liberty

Oct-31-2023 PST Throne and Liberty

Welcome to the Throne and Liberty Quick Guide on Gearing and Progression in this expansive game. Throne and Liberty is a highly progressive game where reaching the hard cap gear level can take months even after launch. In this guide, I will walk you through the essential aspects of upgrading your gear to help you navigate this system effectively.

Initially, the process may appear complicated, but it is actually quite straightforward. All gear and skills follow a similar structure, requiring different items for each upgrade. Let's start with armor crafting. Visit the armor crafter and imagine you want a blue piece of armor. This armor can either drop as a whole piece from a specific location or as a schematic. However, even if you obtain the schematic, you will still need materials to craft it. And you need to have enough Throne and Liberty Lucent on hand.

These materials can be acquired through various means, such as events, quests, and gathering resources. Additionally, you can break down armor you no longer need to obtain crafting materials like dust. Once you have the recipe, schematic, and materials, crafting the armor is a simple process. Choose the desired armor set from the options available. Each armor set offers different stats and defense ratings. You'll notice three categories: heavy, medium, and light armor. Although the defense differences between them are not significant, wearing heavy armor in the late game seems most advantageous.

After acquiring the armor, it's time to upgrade it. The upgrade system functions as follows: select a piece of gear and identify the required material for the upgrade. For instance, you may need quality growth armor stones or costly weapon growth stones, depending on the gear type. These stones represent the next tier in the upgrade hierarchy. Keep in mind that the higher the level and rarity of the gear, the lower the chance of successful upgrades.

The upgrade process involves an element of chance. Regardless, you will always gain something during each upgrade attempt. However, the amount you gain may be less than the maximum potential. The minimum chance for an upgrade is always 10%, with a possible 80% increase, while the maximum chance starts at 40% with a potential 25% increase. As you progress to higher levels and rarities, these numbers decrease. Although there is a degree of RNG involved, rest assured that your gear cannot break or degrade.

Let's take a look at weapon upgrades, which follow the same principles as armor. Acquire the weapon schematic and the necessary materials. Weapons also come in different rarities, including green, blue, purple, and the elusive gold rarity (not yet observed in the game).

To summarize, gearing and progression in Throne and Liberty involve obtaining schematics, gathering materials, and crafting gear or weapons. Upgrading your equipment requires specific stones or materials, with chances of success varying based on the gear's level and rarity. While RNG plays a role, your gear will not break or degrade in the process.

By understanding these fundamentals, you can confidently navigate the gear and progression system in Throne and Liberty. Good luck on your journey towards becoming a powerful ruler!
