Blade and Soul NEO Classic: Green Thumb Quest Guide 2025

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1: Talk to Oh Jungyu

You'll find Oh Jungyu at the entrance of Oakshade Village, near the farming fields. He's a local caretaker responsible for maintaining the village's natural balance. Recently, the land has started to reject cultivation, and strange corruption has spread through the nearby forest. Oh Jungyu suspects that the Earth God, Hatari, is trying to communicate with mortals once more. Speak to him to begin the quest.

He will express concern about the Corrupted Trees nearby and mention ancient rituals involving Stone Piles that once allowed humans to commune with the land's spirits.

Step 2: Break a Rock and Place a Fragment atop the Stone Pile

Travel east of Oakshade Village, following the main dirt path into the rocky forest zone. You will notice several breakable rocks (they appear cracked and shimmer faintly). Use a basic weapon skill or an earth-themed martial technique to break one of these rocks. This action yields a Rock Fragment, which automatically enters your quest inventory.

Just a few meters away, you'll find a Stone Pile—a ritual site marked by stacked stones with glowing green runes. Interact with it to place the Rock Fragment atop it. A short cinematic will play showing a mystical ripple spreading from the pile.

Step 3: Speak with Hatari the Earth God

After placing the fragment, a spirit form of Hatari the Earth God will emerge. He appears as a massive earth elemental cloaked in vines and moss, glowing with ancient power. Hatari's dialogue reveals that the land has grown sick due to misuse and neglect. He asks for your help to revive three corrupted trees, which are draining the life force of the forest.

Pay close attention to Hatari's dialogue—he hints that the corrupted trees are weak to nature-based abilities or cleansing rituals that you'll need to perform.

Step 4: Revive the Corrupted Trees (0/3)

Venture slightly deeper east into the forest. The Corrupted Trees are large, blackened oaks with pulsating red veins and dark fog swirling around them. When you approach one, an interaction prompt appears.

Each tree requires you to cleanse it using a Spirit Fragment, which is granted automatically after your conversation with Hatari. Activate the cleanse ability by standing near the tree and holding the interaction key (default: F).

After initiating the cleanse, you'll need to defend the ritual from Treefiend Corruptlings—small hostile nature spirits that spawn in waves. These enemies are weak to fire, wind, and light elements, and are best dealt with using AoE skills. Defeat the enemies while the ritual completes, and the tree will be revived—its bark turning green again and blossoms returning to its branches.

Repeat this for three corrupted trees. Their locations are:

Near the Stone Pile where you first summoned Hatari

South of a fallen log bridge across the stream

Beside the ancient altar surrounded by mushrooms

Tip: You can mark each tree on your minimap using quest markers. Bring plenty of health potions if you're underleveled.

Step 5: Break Another Rock and Place a Fragment

With the corrupted trees revived, Hatari's power stabilizes, but he requests one final favor: reaffirm the Earth pact by performing the stone ritual again.

Find another breakable rock just north of the third corrupted tree. Smash it for another Rock Fragment. Return to a second Stone Pile nearby—it's slightly hidden behind some dense foliage and only visible once you're within a short range.

Place the second fragment on the pile. This time, a burst of green energy erupts from the pile, and you'll hear Hatari's voice thanking you. The forest begins to sparkle with revitalized energy, and the corrupted fog fades from the area.

Quest Completion and Rewards

Return to Oh Jungyu in Oakshade Village to report your success. He is delighted by the change in the forest and mentions that the crops have already started to recover. He gives you the following rewards:

980 XP -A solid boost, especially for players between levels 18–24.

BnS NEO Divine Gems -These can be used to purchase tier-appropriate gear, accessories, and upgrade materials at the Divine Merchant or can be traded for regional keys and tokens.

Tips for Players

Group up if you're under-geared. The Treefiend Corruptlings can overwhelm solo players.

Use AoE skills and CCs to control the adds during the cleansing.

If you're leveling multiple characters, this quest is one of the faster ways to gain XP in the region while staying close to Oakshade Village's central hub.

Check your inventory post-quest—some players report a bonus Nature's Blessing charm dropping randomly.

Conclusion

The Green Thumb quest is a beautiful and symbolic journey into Blade & Soul NEO Classic's deeper lore of spiritual balance and environmental care. It combines light puzzle-solving, simple combat mechanics, and lore interaction in one satisfying arc. With solid rewards and immersive storytelling, it's one of the standout side quests in Oakshade Village. Make sure to complete it before moving on to higher-level areas—your experience bar and the forest spirits will thank you.
