OSRS Summer Sweep-up final update featuring new items, combat improvements and quality-of-life changes.

Summary:

The final OSRS Summer Sweep-up batch brings stackable Unsireds, new combat amulets, improved Shark Lures, passive Ghommal's Lucky Penny effects, and several quality-of-life updates.

The OSRS Summer Sweep-up has reached its final major batch, delivering a collection of smaller changes that did not fit into earlier summer updates. While the pet-following overhaul is still coming soon, this update focuses heavily on item progression, skilling improvements, inventory management, and combat convenience. Players looking to upgrade their accounts can also explore options to buy OSRS gold.

Summer Sweep-up Adds New Amulets and Item Improvements

OSRS Necklace of Fangs with its ranged accuracy and ranged strength bonuses.

Summer Sweep-up introduces five new collection log slots alongside several useful equipment changes. The most notable additions are the Necklace of Fangs and four elemental amulets.

The Necklace of Fangs is aimed at filling the ranged-strength gap before players unlock the Necklace of Anguish. It provides +12 ranged accuracy and +1 ranged strength, making it a useful mid-game option, particularly for Ironman progression.

The four elemental amulets improve elemental spellcasting. Each provides +10 Magic accuracy while increasing the maximum hit of its corresponding elemental spell by 2.

Players can also combine the four elemental jewels into one Elemental Amulet. This requires 30 Runecraft and 500 runes of each element, allowing the bonus to apply across all four elemental spell types.

UpdateMain Effect
Necklace of Fangs+12 Ranged accuracy, +1 Ranged strength
Elemental Amulets+10 Magic accuracy, +2 elemental max hit
Elemental Amulet+2 max hit for all elemental spells
Stackable UnsiredsMultiple Unsireds use one inventory slot
Ghommal's Lucky PennyCharge-saving effect becomes passive

Quick Tip: The new amulets also add five collection log slots, increasing the maximum collection log total from 1,712 to 1,717. The Gilded Staff of Collection requirement remains unchanged at 1,525 slots.

Unsireds from Abyssal Sire are now stackable, making them far easier to store. More importantly, loot rolls now behave correctly when Unsireds are exchanged, preventing duplicate Bludgeon pieces from being generated when players hold several Unsireds.

Summer Sweep-up Improves Skilling and Combat Quality of Life

The latest Summer Sweep-up changes also target activities that previously required unnecessary inventory management or repetitive inputs.

Shark Lures received a significant buff. Depending on the number of lures used, Shark fishing can now become a faster tick-based activity:

  • 1 lure: 50% chance to reduce the action from 5 ticks to 4.

  • 3 lures: Guaranteed 4-tick fishing.

  • 5 lures: Guaranteed 4 ticks with a 50% chance of reaching 3 ticks.

Aerial Fishing also received better Shark Lure access, with packs containing 100 lures available for one Molch Pearl. This has helped create a new progression route for players chasing certain Varlamore-related rewards.

Ghommal's Lucky Penny is another major convenience upgrade. Players can now consume the penny to permanently unlock its 5% chance to save charges, rather than keeping it equipped. The effect now also works with the Blood Fury.

More Useful Quality-of-Life Changes

Several smaller changes should make everyday OSRS gameplay smoother:

Pros

  • Unsireds are stackable and easier to manage.

  • Charge-saving effects no longer require the penny to be equipped.

  • Seed Vault receives inventory locking support.

  • POH lecterns remember the last tablet type and quantity.

  • Abyssal Lanterns can be stored in the POH Magic Wardrobe.

  • Extra aerial-fishing refunds now cover duplicate fish sacks.

Cons

  • Some planned April quality-of-life changes are still pending.

  • Pet-following improvements are not included in this batch.

  • Some interface features may need further polishing.

The update also changes Surge Potion behavior in Chambers of Xeric. Deaths will no longer reset the potion's cooldown, preventing intentional deaths from becoming a speedrun strategy.

OSRS Seed Vault inventory changes add item locking functionality for better inventory management.

OSRS Summer Sweep-up Wraps Up With More Changes Coming

The final OSRS Summer Sweep-up batch also addressed leaderboard integrity. Recent bugs affecting NPC damage calculations created unrealistic Nex personal bests, including times around 4.2 seconds. Jagex has reset affected records and indicated that legitimate Nex world-record times should be around 42 seconds based on available data.

The pet overhaul remains one of the final outstanding summer changes. Jagex plans to allow pets to follow players into previously restricted areas and remain with them after death, with the feature expected soon.

Other previously delayed quality-of-life changes, including noted essence improvements, Poison Dynamite adjustments, and stackable net traps, are now being prioritized separately.

TL;DR

The final OSRS Summer Sweep-up update delivers a strong collection of QoL improvements, new amulets, faster Shark fishing, passive charge saving, and better inventory management. It also cleans up several unintended speedrun records while leaving a few larger changes for future updates.

For players returning to the game, these changes make progression and everyday activities more convenient, while the wider OSRS gold economy continues to play an important role in account progression and player trading.
