Summary

If you're looking for a fast and straightforward way to farm currency in Path of Exile, combining Abyss and Beyond can be surprisingly effective. This strategy focuses on one simple idea: spawn as many monsters as possible, clear them quickly, and let the raw currency and league-specific rewards add up over a large number of maps.

After an eight-hour test covering 165 maps, the strategy generated 139 Divines of net profit, averaging approximately 17.35 POE divine orbs per hour before accounting for additional buying and selling time.

How the Beyond Abyss Farming Strategy Works

The strategy combines two mechanics that naturally complement a fast map-clearing character: Abyss and Beyond.

Both mechanics add large numbers of enemies to your maps. Rather than relying on rare jackpot drops, the strategy generates value primarily through raw currency, Scarabs, Abyss rewards, and other valuable drops.

Use a Fast Map-Blasting Build

This is not a strategy for a slow bossing character. The more quickly you clear packs, the more monsters you can spawn and kill per hour.

The tested character was built specifically for fast mapping and used Kinetic Blast for clearing. A secondary skill was occasionally used when additional single-target damage was necessary.

The build also used a Headhunter, which significantly improved its ability to blast through large packs of monsters.

The key requirement is therefore not a specific build but a character capable of:

Clearing large packs extremely quickly

Handling dense monster encounters

Moving efficiently between packs

Killing map bosses when necessary

Maintaining consistent speed across many maps

Setting Up Your Maps

The setup in the test was intentionally simple. The maps were rolled for quantity and pack size, while the strategy focused its investment on Scarabs.

Scarab Setu

The run used Scarabs associated with the Abyss and Beyond strategy, including:

Multitudes

Resurgence

Invasion

Hemophilia

These were combined with maps rolled for additional quantity and pack size.

The test did not use an Astrolabe or additional complicated map investment. The goal was to keep the strategy focused on adding monsters and clearing them as quickly as possible.

Add Extra Monsters With Delirium

The farming setup also included Delirium mirrors encountered during the maps.

The reasoning is simple: the strategy already revolves around killing large numbers of enemies. Additional monsters from Delirium therefore fit naturally into the farming loop.

Instead of stopping to run a completely different mechanic, the player simply clears the extra enemies encountered during the map.

The Ideal Map-Clearing Loop

Once your maps are prepared, the gameplay loop is straightforward.

Enter the map, clear the Abyss and Beyond monsters as quickly as possible, collect valuable drops, and move on to the next map.

Prioritize Speed Over Individual Drops

The test showed that the profit per individual map was relatively low at approximately 0.84 Divines per map.

However, the strategy compensated by running a very large number of maps. The test completed 165 maps in eight hours.

This is important when evaluating the strategy. A slower character will naturally generate fewer maps per hour, which can significantly reduce the final hourly profit.

Don't Overcomplicate the Strategy

The strength of Beyond Abyss comes from its simplicity. Both mechanics provide large groups of enemies, so your primary job is to eliminate those monsters efficiently.

There is no need to spend excessive time on complicated side activities if they interrupt your mapping speed.

What You Can Expect to Earn

The eight-hour test produced a wide variety of rewards.

The most important drops included Divines, Puzzle Boxes, Tainted Chromatics, Scarabs, Voidborn Relic Keys, Nightmare Maps, and a Tainted Divine Teardrop.

The run also produced a Headhunter, which significantly increased the total value.

Final Profit Calculation

Before everything was sold, the estimated value reached around 158 Divines. After selling almost everything, the final result was:

139 Divines net profit

189 Chaos

165 maps completed

Approximately 17.35 Divines per hour

Approximately 0.84 Divines per map

The calculation used an investment of roughly 9.64 Divines for the maps and Scarabs.

The creator also estimated approximately 15.44 Divines per hour when buying maps and selling loot were included in the time investment.

The final figure can fluctuate because Divine Orb prices changed significantly during the selling process.

Is Beyond Abyss Worth Farming?

Based on the test, Beyond Abyss performed better than expected.

The strategy is particularly attractive if you enjoy fast-paced mapping and already have a character capable of clearing dense packs quickly.

Who Should Use This Strategy?

Beyond Abyss is best suited to players who:

Have a strong mapping character

Prefer killing large monster packs

Want a relatively simple farming loop

Can maintain high map-clearing speed

Don't mind earning a large portion of their profit through raw currency

It is less attractive for slow builds because the strategy depends heavily on how many maps you can complete per hour.

Why the Strategy Works

The biggest advantage is the interaction between the mechanics and the build.

Abyss and Beyond both create more monsters, while the fast mapping character is designed to kill those monsters efficiently. More monsters mean more opportunities for currency and valuable league rewards.

The strategy also benefits from adding Delirium enemies, further increasing monster density without requiring a completely separate farming setup.

Final Thoughts

The Beyond Abyss strategy demonstrates that you don't always need a complicated farming setup to make solid currency in PoE. By combining Abyss, Beyond, Delirium, monster density, and a fast map-blasting build, you can create a simple loop that rewards speed and consistency.

The eight-hour test produced 139 Divines of net profit, or about 17.35 Divines per hour before accounting for trading time.

The most important factor is your clear speed. If your character can rapidly destroy dense packs and move directly into the next map, Beyond Abyss can turn a simple monster-killing strategy into a surprisingly profitable farming method. To get started, buy POE currency and stock up on the scarabs and map materials you need to maintain.
