Blade & Soul NEO Classic: Level 36 Progression Guide

Feb-26-2025 PST BnS NEO Classic

Today, I'm going to talk about something that's a bit tricky in Blade & Soul NEO Classic. Once you hit max level, the game doesn't exactly hand you a detailed guide on what to do next. That's where I come in. In this video, I'll walk you through everything you need to do (and what you shouldn't) when you reach level 36. Let's dive into the essentials of gearing up and advancing your character at level 36.

Blade & Soul NEO Classic: Level 36 Progression Guide

1. First Steps: Getting Ready for Level 36

So, you've reached level 36 and are probably staring at your character thinking, “What now?” Don't worry—there's a lot to do, and I'm here to break it all down for you. The first thing you need to do is head to the desert area in the game, specifically to Yehara's Mirage. This is where you'll encounter your first field boss, Pinchy, a desert scorpion who will drop some valuable loot, including your first major Soul Shield set.

Pinchy and the Soul Shield

Pinchy isn't just a random field boss—he's going to help you set up your character for the future. Once you defeat him, you'll earn Essence which you can use to spin a wheel for a chance to get a Soul Shield box. If you're only missing one or two pieces of the Soul Shield, you can purchase them directly from the merchant, but this will cost you more Essence than just spinning the wheel once.

As for the cost, each Soul Shield will set you back around 5-6 Essence, so keep that in mind. You can also check my Twitch stream for a live demonstration of how I went about acquiring my Soul Shield at level 36.

2. Acquiring Your Weapon

Now, let's talk weapons. The first thing you want to do at level 36 is acquire a better weapon. You can get this by running a specific dungeon (I'll link a clip of my Twitch stream here for a more in-depth explanation). However, getting the weapon isn't always as straightforward as it seems, and here's where some strategy comes in.

The weapon I recommend you aim for is the one that you can purchase with Faction dailies. Early on, you should pick a faction and start completing faction quests. By doing so, you'll be earning Faction Tokens, which you can exchange for weapon upgrade materials.

You'll also want to go to the Cinderlands, and in the top right section, you'll find the faction merchant who will sell you some upgrade materials after you've earned enough faction points. You'll need eight tokens to buy these materials, which you can then use to craft your weapon. Additionally, Yehara's Mirage also has a merchant that sells materials where you can choose to buy a box that gives you ten upgrade materials—a great way to speed up the process.

3. Weapon Transmutation and Refinement

Once you've secured your weapon, the next step is weapon transmutation. This process is crucial for increasing your weapon's effectiveness and improving your chances of getting desirable stats, such as critical hit damage or life-steal effects. To transmute your weapon, you'll need 30 White Powders, which you can get by salvaging low-level dungeon accessories.

After gathering the powders, head to Yehara's Mirage and purchase the Crafting Material Box from the merchant, which you can then use to transmute your weapon. A couple of important things to note:

   • You'll need one gold to complete the transmutation. Be sure you've got this resource handy.

   • Don't craft your weapon blueprint—get it directly from the faction merchant by completing faction dailies. This will save you a lot of time and materials.

On my run, I was fortunate to get a weapon with crit HP stats and a soul socket, but that's all RNG, so don't be discouraged if your results differ!

4. Upgrading Your Accessories

Now, let's move on to accessories. At this stage, you're going to need to equip yourself with better accessories to improve your stats further. Accessories are vital in Blade & Soul because they provide crucial skill slots. The more slots your accessory has, the more powerful your character will be.

   • Green accessories come with one skill slot.

   • Blue accessories come with one to two skill slots.

   • Purple accessories come with one to three skill slots.

The first purple dungeon you'll encounter is the Tomb of Exiles. This is where you'll start farming your purple accessories. But before you dive into Tomb of Exiles, it's a good idea to spend some time farming the Dagger Break Rookery in Razor Ring Vervine. This dungeon will drop blue accessories, which are essential to upgrade your gear.

When running the Dagger Break Rookery, sell any accessories you don't need to gather Ncoin. Ncoin is going to be your friend, as you can use it to buy other materials or accessories that you're missing.

5. Soul Badge and Skills

The Soul Badge is another vital component of your character's progression. You can acquire it by salvaging old outfits and then exchanging them at the merchant in Yehara's Mirage. I highly recommend keeping an eye on the marketplace, as you can often find accessories being sold for a reasonable price by other players, especially if they're offloading gear they don't need.

If you're still lacking some core skills for your class, you can buy Skill Books using Valor Stones. These can be purchased from the merchant in Yehara's Mirage as well. Before moving on to Tomb of Exiles, make sure your DPS (damage per second) is as high as it can be by completing this step.

6. Card Sets and Ncoin Farming

Another thing you'll want to focus on at level 36 is farming for cards. Cards play a huge role in boosting your stats, and while some of them are a grind to obtain, there are easy ones like the Hakan card that will help you create a solid starting card set.

Your main goal at this stage is to work towards obtaining the Golden Deva card, which is a huge upgrade for your set. However, getting it is no easy task. The drop rate is quite low, and the most efficient way to farm it is by spending Ncoin to buy Essences and spinning the wheel until you get lucky. I opted for this method myself because farming the boss over and over didn't seem like a good use of my time.

As for the other two cards—Desert Scorpion and Bulbari—you'll need to farm them as well, but the drop rates for these are far better than the Golden Deva, so you won't need to grind for them as much.

7. Maximizing Gold and Achievements

Gold is going to become a significant issue as you progress, especially when you start running low. To maximize your gold intake, be sure to complete as many card sets and achievements as possible, as these will reward you with a nice chunk of gold upon completion. This will keep your wallet healthy as you grind for higher-level gear.
