Diablo 4 Season 10 Best Classes and Builds

Diablo4 Oct-05-2025 PST

With Diablo IV Season 10 now live, players are asking the same question: which class is best to lock in and start playing? We now have enough data to clearly see which classes are truly at the top and which ones are lagging behind.

While there's no official leaderboard for Pit clears, the community has been tracking successful runs and recording footage. That means we have a realistic (if not perfect) view of which builds are clearing Pit 100+ and thriving in the new Infernal Hordes mode, which is essential in Season 10 since it's the only way to farm the new Chaos Uniques.

Diablo 4 Season 10 Best Classes and Builds

With that in mind, let's dive into the strongest builds for Season 10, how they perform in both Pit pushing and Infernal Hordes, and which classes are worth starting this season. Before that, you'll need plenty of Diablo 4 gold and D4 items to prepare for the new season.

The Top Dog (for Now): Raven's Druid

The single most impressive performance from the PTR came from the Raven's Druid, which managed a recorded Pit 150 clear-the highest on record. To be clear, that particular clear relied on a bug that caused Raven damage to scale infinitely. Blizzard will almost certainly nerf that interaction before or shortly after Season 10 launches.

That said, even without the bug, the Raven's Druid is still incredibly strong. The playstyle revolves around summoning a swirling flock of ravens that shred everything on screen. The build's AoE coverage is fantastic, making it a natural fit for Infernal Hordes, where speed and area control are essential for farming Chaos Uniques.

Strengths:

 Exceptional AoE clear speed.

 Strong in Infernal Hordes.

 Creative, fun playstyle.

Weaknesses:

 Likely to receive nerfs.

 Lower single-target DPS without bugs.

If Blizzard reins in the bugs without gutting the build, Raven's Druid could still remain near the top in Season 10.

Blood Wave Necromancer

The Blood Wave Necromancer refuses to die-even after multiple rounds of nerfs. This classic DoT-based build is currently sitting at second place overall and technically holds the top spot for "legit" (non-bugged) Pit clears.

Blood Wave Necro offers great bossing and solid Pit pushing potential, with plenty of defensive options baked into the kit. It doesn't dominate Infernal Hordes quite as efficiently as Sorc or Raven's Druid, but it's a reliable powerhouse.

Strengths:

 High ceiling for Pit pushing.

 Sturdy defenses and consistent damage.

 Well-tested, reliable build archetype.

Weaknesses:

Feels slower compared to Sorc or Raven's Druid.

Visual clutter can make gameplay messy.

If you want a tried-and-true Pit pusher that scales deep into endgame, Blood Wave Necro is still an S-tier pick.

Tornado Storm Necromancer

A newer entry on the list is the Tornado Storm Necromancer, sometimes called the "Shadow Storm" build. This hybrid AoE build summons countless tornadoes that sweep through the battlefield, obliterating enemies and objectives alike.

It's particularly effective in Infernal Hordes, where the ability to flood the screen with projectiles means you're completing objectives and wiping mobs at the same time. The sheer visual chaos can be overwhelming in group play (teammates might not even get to land a hit), but the effectiveness is undeniable.

Strengths:

 Incredible AoE coverage.

 Very effective in Infernal Hordes.

Surprisingly fast for a Necro build.

Weaknesses:

 Visual clutter is extreme.

Could be tuned down for performance reasons.

If Blood Wave feels too old-school, Tornado Storm is the flashy new Necro build to try.

Sorcerer: Ball Lightning and Hydra Dominate

No season feels complete without a Sorc on top, and Season 10 is no exception. Two builds stand out: Super Ball Lightning Sorc and Hydra Sorc.

Super Ball Lightning takes advantage of unique interactions (and a few lingering bugs) to absolutely melt screens. When multiple lightning balls overlap and double-activate, the DPS skyrockets, making it one of the best Pit pushers and Horde farmers in the game.

Hydra Sorc is another strong contender. It doesn't quite match Ball Lightning in raw output, but its consistency, range, and AoE explosions keep it competitive at high tiers.

More importantly, Sorcerer remains the fastest class overall thanks to Teleport. That mobility makes Sorc unmatched for farming Pits quickly, which is arguably more important than clearing the single highest Pit tier.

Strengths:

Fastest clear speed in the game.

 Multiple S-tier build options.

Excels in both Pit pushing and Horde farming.

Weaknesses:

 Squishier than Necro or Druid.

Relies heavily on Teleport for survivability.

If you care about speedfarming, efficiency, or simply want to play the most versatile caster in the game, Sorc is the safest lock-in for Season 10.

Spiritborn and Hybrid Builds

Spiritborn is the brand-new class introduced with Season 10, and while data is limited, early testing shows promise. Builds like Stinger Spirit and Evade Spiritborn have been recorded clearing Pit 100+, with room for improvement.

Key synergies with uniques like Loyalty's Mantle and Wuokpa's items provide flexibility across Spiritborn builds, allowing players to tailor damage, defense, or mobility depending on their playstyle.

Strengths:

 Flexible build options.

 Strong synergy with Chaos Uniques.

 Naturally fast class.

Weaknesses:

Lacks standout "broken" builds (so far).

Still under-tested compared to other classes.

Expect Spiritborn to rise as players explore more combinations.

Barbarian: Hoda Barb and Its Struggles

The Hammer of the Ancients (Hoda) Barbarian is still viable, but it's nowhere near the top. On PTR, it cleared around Pit 100-110, which is solid but unimpressive compared to Sorc, Necro, or Druid.

The main issue? Barb is too slow for Infernal Hordes, and even in Pits it feels clunky. Survivability is also a concern-surprisingly, Barb doesn't feel as tanky as expected.

That said, there are some silver linings. An auto-shout Hoda Barb variant simplifies gameplay by automating buffs, making it a good choice for chill players who want fewer button presses.

Strengths:

 Can still clear 100+ Pits.

 Auto-shout variant offers QoL.

 Satisfying melee gameplay for fans.

Weaknesses:

 Too slow for Infernal Hordes.

Damage ceiling is lower than other classes.

Barb isn't unplayable, but if your goal is farming Chaos Uniques or blasting through content, there are better options.

Rogue: Left Behind Again

Sadly, Rogue is once again the weakest class heading into Season 10. Builds like Rapid Fire, Death Trap, and Flurry can technically clear Pit 100+, but they feel clunky, resource-starved, and underwhelming compared to the other classes.

Even the new Rogue powers underperform. For example, doubling Barrage or Rapid Fire sounds strong, but without consistent resource generation, the payoff just isn't there.

Strengths:

Still stylish and fun to play.

Niche builds like Death Trap offer some appeal.

Weaknesses:

 Underwhelming new powers.

 No standout S-tier builds.

Consistently weaker than Sorc, Necro, and Druid.

Unless Blizzard gives Rogue a major buff, it's safe to say this is not the Season of the Rogue.

Fun Factor Tier List

Of course, not everyone cares only about efficiency. Here's a quick "fun factor" tier list based on PTR testing:

S-Tier Fun: Sorc (endless creativity, Fireball chain reactions), Druid (tons of skill diversity, especially with new Raven builds).

A-Tier Fun: Necromancer (Tornado Storm is hilarious), Spiritborn (flexible kit with lots of potential).

B-Tier Fun: Barbarian (auto-shouts are comfy, but slow).

C-Tier Fun: Rogue (clunky mechanics and weak powers drag it down).

Final Recommendations

So, what's the best class to play in Diablo 4 Season 10? It depends on your goals:

For raw speed and farming efficiency: Sorcerer is unmatched. Teleport alone makes it the king of Horde farming, and Ball Lightning/Hydra both dominate Pits.

For Pit pushing records: Necromancer (Blood Wave or Tornado Storm) and Druid (Ravens) currently sit at the top, though expect balance changes.

For creativity and versatility: Druid and Sorc both shine, offering the widest variety of viable builds.

For chill gameplay: Barbarian auto-shout variants make for a relaxed experience, even if they aren't meta.

For experimenting with new mechanics: Spiritborn has untapped potential and will likely grow stronger as the community innovates.

Classes to avoid (for now): Rogue feels underwhelming across the board. Unless Blizzard makes changes, it's best left on the bench this season.

At the end of the day, the best class isn't just about tier lists-it's about what keeps you logging in. If you want top-tier performance, Sorc and Necro are your safest bets. But if you want to try something new and creative, give Druid or Spiritborn a shot.
