Arc Raiders Expedition Guide: Project Requirements, Rewards and More
Interested in departing on an Expedition in Arc Raiders? Embark Studios has introduced a surprisingly elegant solution to one of the most persistent problems in extraction-based progression systems: long-term loot stagnation and forced wipes. Rather than resetting every player’s progress at once, Arc Raiders allows players to opt into a full progression reset through the Expedition Project—with meaningful, permanent rewards for doing so.

With the next Expedition window approaching, the majority of the Arc Raiders community is racing to complete their Expedition Projects. This guide breaks down how the Expedition works, the full list of Project requirements, what you lose, what you keep, the rewards you gain, and—most importantly—whether giving up your progress is actually worth it.
What Is the Expedition Project in Arc Raiders
The Expedition Project is a long-term progression sink that becomes available once your Raider reaches Level 20. Instead of wiping progression globally, Embark Studios allows players to voluntarily send their character on a one-way caravan journey outside of Speranza.
Once you complete the Project and choose to depart during the Expedition window, your character is permanently retired. You effectively start over with a brand-new Raider—but with exclusive bonuses that permanently enhance future progression.
This system allows dedicated players to reset without invalidating the work of others, while also providing a reason to continue engaging with the game after hitting progression plateaus.
When Is the Arc Raiders Expedition Date
The window for the Expedition event in Arc Raiders begins on December 17th, 2025. The exact timing is unknown at the moment. However, this opening will last 5 days and end on December 22nd.
You will have 5 days to make a decision whether you want to leave on the Expedition or not. You will sign up during this window, and on the 22nd, the Expedition departs.
The Expedition window opens the day after the Cold Snap Update releases. During this time, any player who has fully completed the Expedition Project can access the Project screen from the Raider menu in Speranza and choose to depart via the caravan.
Once you leave, your progression resets immediately, and all Expedition rewards are applied to your next character.

What Resets When You Depart on an Expedition
Departing on the Expedition is a full progression reset for your Raider. The following systems are completely reset:
• Stash size upgrades
• All ARC Raiders items in Stash and Inventory
• All learned Blueprints
• Coins (reset to 0)
• Character level (reset to Level 1)
• All Skills
• Raider Den
• Workshop Stations (removed)
• All Quests (can be completed again)
Losing Blueprints in particular is a major drawback and should not be underestimated.
What Progression Is Kept
Despite the reset, several important systems remain unlocked:
• All maps
• Workshop Station unlocks (must be rebuilt)
• Codex entries
• Cred and Raider Tokens
• Raider Deck progress
• Trials and Leaderboard positions
• All Cosmetics
This ensures that veteran players retain their overall account progression and long-term achievements.
Expedition Rewards: What You Gain
Departing on the Expedition grants exclusive rewards and permanent account bonuses.
Permanent Rewards
• Patchwork Raider Outfit
• Scrappy Janitor Cap
• Expedition Counter Icon (Profile)
• +12 Stash Space
• Up to 5 Bonus Skill Points
(1 Skill Point per 1,000,000 Coins of total Stash + Wallet value, up to 5)
Temporary Buffs (Upgradeable)
• +10% Repair Efficiency
• +5% XP Gain
• +6% Bonus Materials from Scrappy
These temporary buffs last until the next Expedition window. If you depart again on the next Expedition, the buffs persist and upgrade, stacking for up to three consecutive Expeditions.
Is the Expedition Worth It
Whether the Expedition is worth it depends heavily on your playstyle.
The most impactful rewards are extra Stash space and bonus Skill Points. However:
• If your Stash is already manageable, the space may not matter much.
• Bonus Skill Points only scale with wealth—unless you have millions in assets, the benefit is limited.
• Losing Blueprints can be extremely painful, especially for coordinated groups.
For organized squads, a hybrid approach may be ideal: one player retains Blueprints while others reset, allowing gear crafting support during early progression.
From a pure optimization standpoint, the Expedition is not strictly efficient. The resource cost and lost progression outweigh the raw power gained. However, many players choose to depart anyway for one key reason: fresh objectives.
If you enjoy restarting progression loops, chasing new goals, and experiencing the early game again with account-level advantages, the Expedition delivers exactly that.
How to Make Money Fast for the Expedition
If you want the full +5 Skill Point bonus, you’ll need 5,000,000 Coins in combined Stash and Wallet value before departing. Here are the most effective strategies:
Use Free Loadouts
Dying with free gear does not reduce Stash value, making it the most efficient way to farm ARC Raiders Coins safely.
Farm Stella Montis High-Tier Areas
Locations like Medical Research and Assembly Workshop contain the best loot in the game—but expect heavy PvP pressure.
Prioritise Trinkets
Trinkets sell for large amounts and are widely available. They are the most consistent Coin source across all maps.
Loot Security Lockers and Locked Doors
With the Security Breach Skill unlocked, these areas frequently yield high-value weapons and materials, especially in Spaceport.
Extract Early and Often
Loot competition increases over time. Target top-tier zones, extract within 10–15 minutes, and repeat for optimal efficiency.
Final Thoughts
The Expedition Project is one of Arc Raiders’ most ambitious systems—a voluntary reset that rewards commitment without forcing it. If you still have meaningful progression ahead of you, waiting for a future Expedition may be the better choice. If you’re looking for renewed purpose and a fresh climb, departing on the Expedition is the most structured way to do it.
With proper preparation, patience, and efficient Coin farming, the Expedition can be both a satisfying reset and a powerful long-term investment in your next Raider.
