In Path of Exile 2, every chapter is filled with brutal encounters and unforgettable boss fights, but few are as unnerving or mechanically complex as Asinia, the Praetor's Consort. Found deep within the Tomb of the Consort, Asinia guards one of the key fragments needed to complete the Sorrow Among Stones primary quest.

This guide will walk you through where to find her, how to handle her deadly mechanics, and the best strategies to bring her down.
Where to Find Asinia
You'll encounter Asinia during the Sorrow Among Stones questline, which begins in the Cemetery of the Eternal. After defeating Draven, the Eternal Praetor, the next step leads you to the Tomb of the Consort, her final resting place and the site of one of the game's most atmospheric boss arenas.
The Tomb of the Consort is a maze of marble and bone, with shallow graves surrounding a circular arena where Asinia awaits. It's a small space that rewards good movement and punishes players who get trapped in corners. Once you enter, the fight begins immediately, so make sure you've spent your POE 2 Currency on key consumables, flasks, and equipment upgrades before stepping inside.
Understanding the Fightas
The key to surviving this fight lies in managing both Asinia and her undead minions. Throughout the battle, Grasping Ghouls will spawn from the ground and crawl toward Asinia. If left unchecked, these creatures serve two dangerous purposes:
They empower Asinia. Each Ghoul she absorbs causes a small flame to appear above her head. The next time she casts a spell, that flame is consumed, massively increasing the spell's damage.
They resurrect Eternal Knights. If you step on a Ghoul while it's crawling over a grave, it triggers the resurrection of an Eternal Knight. These heavily armored undead are slow but hit hard, and can easily overwhelm you if multiple appear at once.
To manage this chaos, try to eliminate Ghouls as soon as they spawn and before they reach the graves near the arena's center. The outer edges of the room have fewer burial spots, so positioning yourself along the rim of the arena makes this easier.
Phase One: Asinia Above 66% Health
During the first phase, Asinia relies on a mix of area-of-effect (AoE) attacks that are mostly telegraphed and avoidable. She'll use:
Cone-shaped fire bursts that sweep across the floor
Circular soul explosions that detonate after a brief delay
Randomized bone spikes that shoot in all directions
If you're patient and position carefully, these attacks are manageable. For melee characters, try to bait her spells, dodge through the cone-shaped attacks, and then close the gap for short, controlled bursts of damage. Skills that break or ignore Heavy Armor are especially useful here, since Asinia wears thick plate that reduces direct physical hits.
Ranged players can take advantage of the open space, staying mobile while kiting both Asinia and the Ghouls. Damage-over-time skills like poison, bleed, or burn work particularly well, they let you keep dealing damage even while you're on the move.
The biggest mistake players make in this phase is ignoring the Ghouls. Once Asinia absorbs too many, her next spell can one-shot underprepared characters. Keep the minion count under control, and you'll find the fight manageable.
