One of the most intimidating moments in Path of Exile 2 happens right after you finish the campaign. You step into Tier 1 maps, open your stash, and realize you have zero Divine Orbs, almost no item rarity on your gear, and no clear idea of how to start farming POE 2 Currency without already having currency to invest. For many players, this is where progress stalls.

This guide is designed to solve that exact problem. It outlines a stepping-stone farming strategy tailored specifically for new players and league starters, players who need to generate currency from nothing and scale smoothly into the endgame without heavy upfront investment.
Let the Atlas Work for You
The main idea behind this approach is simple: explore your overworld and let the Atlas progression guide your farming. Instead of rushing high-tier maps or heavily juicing content you're not ready for, you focus on unlocking areas, clearing objectives, and capitalizing on naturally profitable mechanics along the way.
You don't need Tier 15 maps stacked with rarity to make serious POE 2 Currency early. Some of the most profitable content in the game can be run as early as Tier 6 maps, provided you know what to look for and when to run it.
Early Mapping
When you first reach maps, your quests will direct you toward Corruption and Nexus objectives. Clearing corrupted Nexus maps rewards you with Cleansed Maps, which are among the most valuable maps you can run, or save, for later.
At this stage, the key strategy is restraint. Do not immediately run all your cleansed maps. Instead, pay attention to which maps you path through when cleansing a Nexus. Avoid wasting valuable layouts early when your character and Atlas aren't fully prepared.
One specific modifier to watch for is Mirrored Fury. These appear only after clearing a Nexus and not in every set, as they are RNG-based. However, Mirrored Fury mini-bosses have a 100% chance to drop Fracturing Orbs, making them a guaranteed source of valuable POE 2 Currency when used correctly.
Anomaly Maps
As you expand your Atlas, you'll encounter Anomaly Maps. These act as feeder maps that unlock powerful boss encounters once completed. The crucial detail is that these bosses can be run as early as Tier 6 maps and have a fixed chance to drop lineage support gems, some of the most expensive items in the game.
The drop chance for these gems does not scale with rarity, which makes them ideal for early-game farming. If you hit one of these drops early, it can provide all the seed currency you need to scale your build.
High-priority anomaly bosses include:
Temporal Sandstorm (drops Garacun's Resolve)
Eye of the Storm (drops Rakiata's Flow)
Mansion in the Mist (drops Rigwald's Ferocity)
These items regularly command premium prices and can instantly accelerate your POE 2 Currency progression.
