Viper Napuatzi is a challenging campaign boss in Path of Exile 2, appearing near the end of Act 3. Defeating her is essential to progressing into Aggorat and confronting Doryani. Where to Find Viper Napuatzi
You will encounter Viper Napuatzi in Utzaal during the "Legacy of the Vaal" quest. She is a mandatory boss that must be defeated to advance to Aggorat and gain access to The Black Chambers.
This battle is particularly difficult because Napuatzi has high resistance to Fire, Cold, Lightning, and Physical damage. If you are not using a Chaos-based build, it’s highly recommended to invest in Elemental Penetration to increase your damage output.
How to Prepare for the Fight
Viper Napuatzi primarily deals Chaos and Poison damage, which can be deadly without proper resistance. Here are some essential preparation steps:
Boost Your Chaos Resistance
Since most of Napuatzi’s attacks are Chaos-based, increasing your Chaos Resistance is crucial. If you can obtain Chaos Resistance gear or passive skill nodes, your survivability will improve dramatically.
Chaos Inoculation in the Passive Skill Tree grants immunity to Chaos damage, but it requires heavy investment in Energy Shield.
Completing "The Slithering Dead" quest provides a permanent 10% Chaos Resistance.
Equipping Serpent's Egg, Oaksworn, Snakebite, or Ghostwrithe can offer additional Chaos Resistance.
Amethyst Rings are a great choice, as they provide built-in Chaos Resistance.

How to Defeat Viper Napuatzi
Napuatzi switches between two combat stances throughout the battle: Spear Stance and Unarmed Stance. She starts in Spear Stance, switches to Unarmed Stance at 80% HP, and returns to Spear Stance at 10% HP.
Spear Stance Attacks
In this stance, Napuatzi uses ranged and melee spear attacks infused with Poison and Lightning.
Spear Throw – She hurls her spear at you, dealing Poison damage. Simply dodge in any direction to avoid it.
Lightning Spear – Her spear splits into four electric projectiles that bounce off walls, similar to Lightning Strike in the original Path of Exile. Try to stay away from walls and move sideways to avoid getting hit.
