Summary
If you're looking for a low-investment farming strategy in Path of Exile, Incursion offers a surprisingly efficient way to generate currency by combining fast Temple runs with Vaal Omnitect boss rushing.
The strategy focuses on buying the right Chronicles of Atzoatl, rushing to the Apex of Atziri, and picking up valuable Incursion-specific drops along the way. A 100-map test reached 51.26 Divines per hour, although actual profits can vary significantly with market prices and RNG. To get started without delays, buy POE currency and map materials you need to maintain a consistent farming pace.
How the Incursion Boss Rush Works
The core of the strategy is simple: instead of fully clearing every Temple, you prioritize reaching the Vaal Omnitect as quickly as possible.
The Omnitect provides several valuable exclusive drops, while certain Temple rooms add additional valuable items to the loot pool.
Why Vaal Omnitect Is Profitable
One of the biggest reasons to run the Omnitect is its chance to drop Ambition, one of the components used for the Adorned Chūru. Ambition prices can fluctuate heavily, so its contribution to your hourly profit depends on the current market.
The boss can also drop various Wires, with several currently worth more than half a Divine each. Astrolabes are another possible drop, although they are much rarer.
The important point is that you don't need to spend heavily on maps, Scarabs, or an elaborate Atlas setup. Your main investment is buying suitable Temple Chronicles.
How to Buy the Right Temple Chronicles
When searching for Chronicles, look for Apex of Atziri and, importantly, select Open Room.
This prevents you from buying Chronicles where the Apex exists but isn't immediately accessible. Without an open room, you may have to find explosives and create a path first, wasting time and potentially requiring an inconvenient layout.
Setting the area level to 83 is also useful because Incursion can produce rare items with special Incursion modifiers.
Rooms to Avoid
One room worth filtering out is Throne of Atziri. Depending on the layout, you can be forced into an additional fight that slows down the run and can be dangerous without the appropriate defenses.
The Locus of Corruption and Doryani's Institute are extremely valuable in their own right, but they also increase the price of the Chronicles you need to buy. If you're specifically trying to run the Omnitect boss rush, you don't need to pay a premium for them.
Which Temple Rooms Are Worth Adding?
The best strategy is to look for useful rooms that don't significantly increase the cost of your Chronicles.
Toxic Growth
Toxic Growth can add valuable Tacati Incursion modifiers to the loot pool.
Its chest has multiple possible modifiers, including the trigger-socketed-spell modifier for wands. Even when you don't open the chest, having the room in the Temple can cause the Omnitect to drop rare equipment with Tacati modifiers.
Only detour to the chest when it's directly on your route or very close to it.
Crucible of Flame
Crucible of Flame is another excellent room because it adds special Incursion modifiers to claws.
These modifiers can sell for meaningful amounts even on mediocre bases, while high rolls or desirable bases can be worth considerably more.
Again, don't sacrifice your clear speed just to reach the chest. The primary goal remains killing the Omnitect quickly.
Sanctum of Immortality and Conduit of Lightning
Some rooms provide useful unique drops.
Sanctum of Immortality can produce Mask of the Spirit Drinker, while Conduit of Lightning can contain Dance of the Offered.
These rooms are worth considering when they are conveniently positioned, but they shouldn't force significant backtracking.
Apex of Ascension
Apex of Ascension provides another way to turn Incursion drops into currency.
You can combine an appropriate Incursion unique with its corresponding Wire to create an upgraded version. Depending on the current prices of the components and finished items, this can provide a substantial additional margin.
However, don't overfarm this room. The supply of Wires and relevant uniques can become a bottleneck, and excessive demand for these Chronicles can quickly make the strategy less profitable.
How to Run the Temple Efficiently
Once you've purchased a Chronicle, right-click it in your inventory and activate it through the Map Device.
Before moving, check the Temple layout shown on the map.
The entrance is generally toward the southeast, while the Apex is toward the northwest. Rooms have different possible entrances and connections, so learning how these paths connect will make your runs considerably faster.
Prioritize Short Routes
The most important rule is don't backtrack unnecessarily.
If a valuable room is directly on your route to the Apex, take advantage of it. If reaching the room requires a large detour, skip it and continue toward the Omnitect.
This is a boss-rush strategy, not a full Temple-clear strategy.
Good layouts can take less than a minute, while poor layouts may approach two minutes. Learning to recognize the common room connections will help reduce wasted movement.
You also don't need Scarabs or a dedicated Atlas passive tree for these Temple runs.
What Can You Expect to Earn?
A 100-map test provides a useful benchmark.
The test produced 11 Ambitions, 19 Wires, one Astrolabe, multiple Incursion-modifier rares, claws, wands, gloves, bases, and other miscellaneous items.
The total calculated value was approximately 132.42 Divines, with an average completion time of about 93 seconds per Temple.
That worked out to roughly:
51.26 Divines per hour
However, that number should not be treated as a guaranteed rate.
The test benefited from favorable Ambition pricing and slightly above-average Ambition drops. A more conservative calculation still produced roughly 42 Divines per hour before considering additional valuable Temple rooms.
How to Improve the Profit Further
You can increase the value of each run by adding convenient high-value rooms such as Apex of Ascension or rooms with worthwhile unique drops.
The key is to avoid paying too much for the Chronicle itself. If a Temple contains several desirable rooms but costs substantially more, the additional loot may not compensate for the higher entry price.
Sell Incursion Loot Carefully
Incursion rares can be difficult to price because their value depends heavily on the base and modifier combination.
For claws and other specialized items, check the base and modifier before dumping everything at a low price. Listing potentially valuable items high and gradually reducing the price can help avoid accidentally selling a rare combination too cheaply.
Ambition can also be listed slightly above the current market price because bulk buyers may occasionally purchase large quantities at once.
Is This Farm Still Worth Doing?
This strategy is particularly attractive when Ambition, Wires, Incursion rares, and related uniques maintain strong demand.
However, the market is relatively small, and profitability can change quickly. A farming method that produces 50 Divines per hour on one day may become significantly weaker after more players begin running it.
Therefore, check current prices before committing to a large batch of Chronicles.
If the Omnitect-focused market becomes saturated, regular in-map Incursion remains another option, particularly when valuable rooms such as Locus of Corruption become highly profitable.
For now, the combination of cheap Temple entry, fast Omnitect kills, valuable exclusive drops, and minimal setup requirements makes this a compelling niche farming strategy for players who want to turn efficient boss rushing into consistent POE currency.
