EA FC 26 World's Game Update: Free Pelé Evolutions, EVO Undo, and Huge New Features
EA Sports has officially launched the highly anticipated World's Game Update for EA FC 26, delivering one of the largest content drops the franchise has seen in recent years. Although EA no longer holds the official FIFA license, the developer has created its own international tournament experience that closely mirrors the real-world 2026 World Cup format. Alongside the new competition, players can expect major additions to Ultimate Team, Clubs, Career Mode, and Evolution systems.

A New International Tournament Experience
The centerpiece of the update is a brand-new 48-team international tournament available to all players for free. While it is not officially branded as the FIFA World Cup, the competition follows the exact structure of the expanded 2026 tournament.
Teams are divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two nations from each group advancing automatically. The eight best third-place teams also qualify for the knockout stage, creating a Round of 32 before progressing through five elimination rounds to determine the champion.
The update is available across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
More Than 50 National Teams Included
EA FC 26 now features 53 playable national teams as part of the World's Game update. Many of football's biggest nations are fully licensed, including Brazil, Argentina, England, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Morocco, and the United States.
Some teams arrive with partial licensing. Egypt and Japan feature authentic player rosters but lack full federation licensing, while nations such as Algeria, Curaçao, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan appear with generic squads.
EA has stated that licensing restrictions and legal limitations have affected the availability of certain national teams. Meanwhile, Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Congo DR will receive their official kits in a future update.
Players will also find several new stadiums, including Gillette Stadium and BMO Field, alongside a fictional venue designed specifically for international competition.
Career Mode Gets Tournament Integration
Career Mode users are not left out of the action. The World's Game tournament has been fully integrated into Career Mode, allowing managers to take control of a national team and compete through the same tournament structure.
Live starting points are also available, enabling players to jump into the competition at different stages and recreate key moments from the real-world international tournament.
Festival of Football Takes Over Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team receives the biggest share of content through the Festival of Football event, which runs from June 5 through July 24.
The event introduces a dedicated Event Hub, weekly international-themed campaigns, and more than 250 objectives and challenges. Players will build squads representing nations from around the globe while working toward exclusive rewards throughout the event.
One of the biggest highlights is a free 93-rated Pelé ICON card available to everyone who logs in during the promotion. EA is also releasing over 100 new international player items during the event.
In addition, two legendary footballers join the ICON roster. Rivellino and Mario Kempes will debut through special Greats of the Game versions before their standard ICON items enter packs later in the campaign.
A special Penalty Shootout mode is also scheduled to arrive later in the event, offering a unique competitive experience in both Ultimate Team and Kick-Off.
New Token System Changes FUT Progression
Perhaps the most significant Ultimate Team change is the introduction of Festival of Football Tokens.
These Tokens become the primary reward currency across several FUT activities, including Rivals, Squad Battles, Rush, Live Events, Objectives, and selected Squad Building Challenges.
The new system is designed to unify progression across all modes, allowing players to work toward rewards regardless of how they choose to play. Tokens can be exchanged in a dedicated store containing packs, players, Evolutions, cosmetics, and additional content.
There is a weekly earning limit of 1,000 Tokens, with a total of 5,000 Tokens available throughout the Festival of Football campaign.
PlayStyles Receive Important Balance Updates
The update also introduces gameplay adjustments aimed at improving match balance.
The Bruiser PlayStyle has been slightly toned down after player feedback suggested shoulder challenges were producing overly aggressive outcomes. Players with Enforcer and Enforcer+ now receive improved resistance during physical battles, while challenge physics have been refined to better reflect strength differences between players.
The Intercept PlayStyle also receives a small enhancement. Players with an Interceptions rating above 90 can now access advanced interception animations even if they do not possess the PlayStyle itself.
Alongside these changes comes the new PlayStyles Lab feature. This system allows players to customize PlayStyles and PlayStyles+ on select FUT items, giving managers more freedom to shape their squads according to their preferred style of play.
Clubs Mode Progression Expanded
Clubs players will notice several upgrades to Archetype progression.
The maximum Archetype level has increased from 90 to 95, unlocking additional customization opportunities. Players can now equip a ninth customizable PlayStyle slot and gain access to a fourth Signature PlayStyle.
At level 95, that fourth Signature PlayStyle can even be upgraded into a PlayStyle+ variant.
Attribute caps have also been expanded, allowing certain Archetypes to reach elite ratings in areas such as Dribbling, Vision, Passing, and Ball Control. These changes provide greater long-term progression for dedicated Clubs players.
Evo Undo Adds More Flexibility
One of the most requested quality-of-life features finally arrives with Evo Undo.
Players can now reset completed Evolutions and return cards to their original state. If the original player item was tradable, resetting the Evolution restores tradable status, allowing it to be sold on the Transfer Market once again.
EA says the goal is to reduce the pressure associated with committing to Evolutions and encourage experimentation. Combined with the new PlayStyles Lab and upcoming Evo Repeatables, players now have significantly more control over how they develop their Ultimate Team squads.
With a massive international tournament, extensive FUT content, gameplay balancing, Clubs improvements, and Evolution upgrades, the World's Game Update stands as one of the most ambitious post-launch updates EA FC has ever delivered.
