PoE 2 Guide: Ritual Mechanic – How to Farm Omens, Audience with the King, and the Rite of the Nameless

POE 2 Jun-05-2026 PST

Ritual has become one of the most profitable mechanics in PoE 2, yet many players find it confusing. This guide explains step by step how to access the King in the Mist, how to run the Rite of the Nameless, and how to maximize your currency from omens, fracturing orbs, and valuable unique drops. With a straightforward strategy and cheap setup, you can make hundreds of Divines.

Part 1: Getting Started – Accessing Ritual

You begin in the center of the Atlas, right in front of the Fortress. Head left to Karth. Complete the quest line by running all maps around the Crux of Nothingness until you have allocated all available Ritual Atlas points.

Important: Some points are locked behind the new pinnacle boss. The game does not tell you this. Mysterious Rites, Spreading Darkness, and several nodes in the center require killing the boss first.

The King in the Mist is relatively easy. The other pinnacle boss (Bodok) is very difficult. This guide covers both.

Part 2: The Audience with the King – How to Get It

As you complete Rituals in maps, any tribute you do not spend can be offered to the king. This eventually rewards you with an Audience with the King item.

This is where most players get stuck. The item says: "Required to reveal the Crux of Nothingness on the Atlas." It means this literally. You must have the Audience in your inventory while looking at your Atlas. Crux nodes will then appear as special map icons. They are actually quite common, but only visible while holding the item.

When you click a Crux of Nothingness, the game will often freeze for 10-15 seconds. This is normal. It will then reveal an Audience with the King map. Treat this like a regular map. You cannot use tablets. It is just a boss fight against the King in the Mist.

Part 3: Killing the King – The Head of the King

Defeat the King in the Mist. He drops at least one Head of the King. Sometimes he drops multiple. These are valuable on their own, but more importantly, they are the key to the Rite of the Nameless.

Part 4: The Rite of the Nameless – Step by Step

Return to Karth and traverse to the statue. Attach the Head of the King. This takes you to a selection screen where you must choose six connected maps.

Current mechanic (may be patched): You can currently do this as many times as you want. The patch notes indicate this will change so that once you click a map, you are locked in. Pay attention to future updates.

How to select maps:

Click the first map. It gives you two connected options plus a bounty. Bounties can include:

  • Increased tribute

  • An omen (such as Omen of Whittling)

  • Chaos orbs

  • Exaltation orbs

  • Additional packs

Always prioritize omens. Omen of Whittling is extremely valuable (currently around 210 Divines).

After selecting your first map, continue selecting until you have chosen six maps. Be careful with pathing. If you select a map that leads to a dead end or a unique map (which cannot be used), you may limit your options.

Once all six maps are selected, the Rite of the Nameless begins. Every map in the rite has guaranteed rituals that are more rewarding than normal. Each map also drops a Call of the Shadows.

Part 5: The Pinnacle Boss – Bodok

When you collect five Calls of the Shadows, place them into the effigy in Karth. This grants entrance to the Bodok fight.

Tip for Twister builds: Do not use Salvo or Prolonged Duration. These cause your twisters to exist longer in the darkness, which is not helpful. Instead, use supports like Close Combat and Deliberation.

The Bodok fight is difficult. Practice is required.

Part 6: What Drops from Ritual – The Valuable Items

Heads of the King: Worth approximately 130-160 Divines. You will oversustain these, meaning you can sell extras.

Omens of Whittling: Currently around 210 Divines. These are powerful crafting items that remain in demand all league.

Omens of Chaotic Rarity, Quantity, and Effectiveness: Not yet extremely valuable, but they will increase in value when strategies requiring pack size or rarity emerge. Consider holding these.

Other valuable omens:

Omen of Chance: approximately 500 Exalts

Omen of Dextral Enrolment: approximately 338 Exalts

Fracturing Orbs: These drop from summoning circle bosses. With the right Atlas nodes, you can get 1-3 fracturing orbs per ritual fight. Two is common. One is very common.

Part 7: Ritual Tablets – What Modifiers Matter

Tablets are not as impactful as expected, but certain modifiers are worth chasing.

Prefixes (valuable):

Pack size

Increased magic monsters

Increased rare monsters

Additional summoning circles

These increase tribute by adding more monsters killed within ritual circles.

Suffixes (valuable):

Revive monsters have a chance to be magic or rare (best for tribute)

Additional omens

Re-rolling an additional time

Reduced deferral cost

Reduced re-rolling cost

Avoid focusing too heavily on reduced re-rolling costs. You will use up your re-rolls and have nothing left to spend tribute on.

Part 8: Ritual Atlas Tree – Mandatory Nodes

First priority – Summoning Circles:

Rush From Distances Untold. This node gives summoning circles in cleansed areas a chance to have an additional monster modifier. It also gives summoning circle bosses with additional modifiers a 5% chance to drop a fracturing orb.

Combine this with Challenging Foe (25% chance for an additional monster modifier). Fracturing orbs drop frequently. Notably, they seem to drop even outside cleansed areas.

Second priority – Rite of the Nameless nodes:

Rush straight up the middle to Revive Monsters have increased chance to be magic and rare (extra tribute). Then take Ritual Altars have a 15% chance to be built on summoning circles (spawns an additional boss).

After that, go for Royal Tithe to access Rite of the Nameless nodes:

  • Bring Forth the Unseen

  • Hour of the Nameless

  • Ongoing Chance

  • Umberling

Then take Traveler's Woe and Sapping for gloves and rings from Spreading Darkness.

The Mageblood chance: One node states: "The Rite of the Nameless list can rarely offer specific, valuable, unique items." The teaser trailer showed a Mageblood on this list. Chase this if you are hunting big items.

Flexible nodes: You can switch Invigorated Sacrifices depending on your needs. Use additional favors showing up normally. If you have many deferred favors, switch to the node that gives more tribute.

Part 9: Summoning Circles – Why They Matter Most

Summoning circles are the most important mechanic for this strategy for three reasons:

Fracturing orbs drop from summoning circle bosses

Danger in the Wild gives summoning circles in non-city areas a 5% chance to summon a random deadly map boss (including Jade Isles and Sacred Reservoir, which drop support gems worth hundreds of Divines)

Additional bosses mean additional tribute and rewards

Invest heavily in summoning circles.

Part 10: General Atlas Tree – Pack Size for Tribute

For the rest of your Atlas tree, search for "pack size" (zoom in first). Pack size increases tribute. Grab increased monster and increased pack size nodes. Also search for "increased rares and magics" for additional tribute.

Final Thoughts

Ritual is currently one of the most profitable mechanics in PoE 2 for generating POE2 Currency. The strategy is straightforward once you understand the flow: Audience → King → Head → Rite → Calls → Bodok or sell. The setup is cheap, the returns are high, and the summoning circle nodes provide consistent fracturing orbs alongside the chance for massive jackpot drops. If you need a boost to get your strategy started, you can buy POE2 Currency from MMOEXP, a trusted source that helps you gear up and begin farming endgame content with ease.
