The endgame update in Path of Exile 2 0.5 introduced a wide variety of farming strategies. Some require significant setup and investment, while others are plug-and-play. This tier list ranks the most relevant strategies based on two core criteria: profitability and ease of execution. Harder strategies may rank lower even if their profit potential is similar. The goal is to help players choose the right farm for their build and playstyle.

S-Tier Strategies

Delirium Breach Farming

This is one of the best ground loot strategies in the game. The goal is to spawn as many rare monsters from Breach as possible by using tablets that add rare monsters to unstable Breach encounters. Delirium fog scales the loot from those rares even further. Rare monsters are already the best source of loot in the game, and when combining effectiveness, rarity from the tree, the loot multiplier from Delirium, and further buffs from the atlas master, the returns can get out of hand.

This strategy can only be run on Grand Mirror maps or maps that have had Delirium fog spread by a Grand Mirror. Running a setup strategy like boss rushing first is required to prepare the Atlas. This is also one of the most difficult strategies in the game—a very strong build is needed for 200% Delirium maps.

Delirium Abyss Farming

Alongside Breach, this is one of the best raw loot farms in the game. The setup is similar: juice rare monsters with Delirium fog and use Helda's increased effect of tablets to scale the Unforeseen Consequences unique tablet. Random tablets with additional map modifiers are used to maximize Helda's node while making the map as juiced as possible.

This is incredibly rippy—200% Delirium with stacked map modifiers—but the returns are outstanding. A key tech: use tier 15 waystones with exactly five modifiers (not six) and combine three specific omens to craft waystones with 103% monster rarity, substantially increasing the number of rares per map.

Ritual City Farming

Ritual is the best unique farmer in the game and will always be relevant due to the omens it provides. This strategy uses City Biomes for a fourth tablet slot with the goal of hunting for expensive uniques and picking up any decent omens. The Head of the King should always be used—this item creates a six-map chain where Rituals are buffed, providing juicier altars with more tribute.

Ritual received a mid-league buff—only tier 15 maps are now needed for good omens instead of tier 16. The investment is high, but so are the returns.

Tablets Farming

This strategy requires no Delirium setup and no Atlas preparation, making it the closest thing to a consistent map-to-map blaster. The idea is simple: farm generic irradiated tablets that add random mechanics to each map. Three of these are obtained per map, and those mechanics do not suffer from diminishing returns on tablet drops because specific league tablets are not being used.

This strategy was S-tier when tablet prices were higher, and even though prices have dropped, it remains excellent due to its low setup cost and consistency.

A-Tier Strategies

Boss Rush

This is likely the best strategy for players who do not have a build strong enough to one-shot Delirium Breach maps. Boss rush provides more divines than before and can be combined with other strategies. It also enables Grand Mirror spawning for Delirium farming. This can be done on a relatively weak build, making it one of the most accessible high-tier farms.

Lineage Gem and Fragment Farming

This is a passive strategy that players always work toward while playing. Complete Citadel maps for fragments and run Jade Isle or Sacred Reservoir for chances at Rakiyata's Flow and Garukhan's Resolve. Fragment drop odds can be increased by stacking waystone drop chance on both waystones and tablets. For lineage gems, use Jado and turn the map into a forest biome with the unique tablet Mastered Domain.

This is a gamble—unique tablets can be skipped to avoid the six-divine investment, but at 350 divines for Garukhan's, the investment is worth it.

Elder Saga and Shrummer Hunting

Elder Saga is an item found from Veridian remnants and can be specifically found from the mirror unique map. This strategy revolves around exploring the Atlas Ocean as fast as possible to find this unique map. Elder Saga currently sells for around 30 divines. This pairs perfectly with Grand Expedition farming—players can hop into maps, take good remnants, and leave quickly.

Unstable Hive Blood Farming

This strategy is borderline S-tier. Increase hive blood from tablets and farm unstable breaches as quickly as possible. Spend hive blood on catalysts for easy, brain-off profit. Crafting rings and amulets is also profitable but less consistent. This strategy is better now because of a reworked tablet node that allows hive blood to be scaled consistently every map.

Delirium Boss Rushing

This is a staple strategy that enables S-tier Delirium farms by spreading Grand Mirrors across the Atlas. Rush the boss, activate Delirium fragments, and spread fog onto the Atlas. A useful trick: if the Delirium mirror is not activated at the start, rush to the boss, teleport back to activate the mirror, then return to the boss—all Delirium shards spawn in one place, saving significant time. The emotions dropped can be worth multiple divines, and Simulacrum splinters add consistent value.

Abyssal Chests

This is a solid, low-difficulty budget strategy. Increase the odds for abyssal chests in each map—these chests drop a nice amount of currency. The abyss mobs themselves also drop good loot. This strategy is better early in the league but remains decent.

Liquid Emotion Farming

Similar to boss rush, but this strategy uses a temple tablet with an increased chance to add a Val beacon unique monster. These monsters are almost always constructs or beasts, enabling expensive liquid emotions to drop. This strategy provides more loot per map than normal boss rush and pairs nicely with Xesht boss rushing.

Xesht Boss Rush

This pairs well with liquid emotion Val unique farming. When running temples, the goal is to create a path to Xesht to get a key. Protect the path by placing random rooms along the side so those rooms are more likely to destabilize while the path remains intact.

Simulacrum

The Voices' unique jewel makes Simulacrum a jackpot-hunting strategy. At five divines per run, the investment is steep, but Voices as a drop gives it an identity it previously lacked. This strategy is somewhat inconsistent but can be very profitable.

B-Tier Strategies

Expedition Fishing

This strategy involves running expeditions while trying to get the correct rumor to drop Elder Saga. It is decent but relies heavily on RNG. If the build is fast, this could be higher B-tier or lower A-tier. Multiple good items can drop, and decent boss loot is possible, but there are definitely better options.

Abyss Chests (Current State)

Once a solid A-tier strategy, abyss chests have fallen off significantly. Jewels that used to cost four to five divines are now under one divine. This is now B-tier at best.

Boss Farming (Arbiter)

Chain-farming Arbiter is possible, aiming for big spear drops worth up to 20 divines. However, every fight costs entry currency, and prices have been driven up by players completing their Atlas. This is probably C-tier to lower B-tier.

Rings Breach

Similar to other Breach strategies but focused on farming high-level rings and crafting or selling them. This is still profitable but requires time-consuming crafting to maximize returns.

Chaos Trial

This is a gamble strategy aiming for the Adorned jewel from the boss. Some basic currency can be made just by running the trial, but the big payoff is RNG-dependent. Currently B-tier, possibly lower A-tier.

Expedition Aldor

This is gambling by buying Aldor Sagas and spending them hoping for good results. Each attempt costs 25 divines, and it can take 100 divines before hitting anything. This is B-tier at best.

C-Tier Strategies

Viscera Boxes

This strategy involves using Viscera to possess boxes and trying to drop charms. It is a pure gamble with very low average returns. Most of the time, Viscera provides nothing. Time is spent hoping for a charm worth a few hundred divines. This is C-tier.

Simulacrum Farming (Current State)

If not chasing Voices, Simulacrum is borderline copium. Without the Voices drop, it practically drops nothing worthwhile. This sits in C-tier unless lucky.

Essences

Essences are currently one of the weakest farms. Only one expensive essence exists, worth about 1.5-2 divines. There is no real essence sink, so this will always be a bad farm. F-tier.

Breach Hives

Breach Hives are outdone by Unstable Breaches in every category—loot, hive blood, gold, and XP. Only one hive can be obtained per map, and maps with hives are found every 10 maps. Even the modifiers that can apply to hives are not that good. This is F-tier.

Summary

The endgame meta in Path of Exile 2 0.5 revolves around a closed loop of strategies—boss rush to set up the Atlas, then running Delirium Breach or Abyss for raw loot, and occasionally farming Elder Saga or ritual for jackpot opportunities. Tablet farming is the closest thing to a plug-and-play strategy that requires no setup. Prioritize consistent farms over gamble-heavy strategies unless prepared for the RNG. Choose strategies based on build strength and tolerance for setup. The meta rewards flexibility, but the game still needs more strategies that allow players to simply load up a map and farm without hours of preparation. With enough POE2 Currency, you can pivot between strategies easily and fund the scarabs and tablets needed for each farm.
