Diablo 4 Season 14 PTR-Which Class Got BUTCHERED and Which One Is SECRETLY OP

Diablo4 Jun-08-2026 PST

Season 14 PTR just dropped and the meta is already shifting.

Barbarians still reign supreme, but is Necromancer about to fall off a cliff? Which class has a bug that's literally breaking the game? And which builds are poised to dominate thanks to new Diablo 4 Items and balance changes? Let's break it all down-because some of these changes are going to make you rage quit.

Barbarian-Still the King, But Are You Bored Yet?

Cole the Ancient Barbarian is absolutely destroying everything-same as Season 13. Whirlwind, Rend/Leap bleed builds, Flame Charge-all competitive. The class barely got any changes, which sounds boring, but here's the truth: you've got FOUR top-tier builds that all crush content. Don't want Whirlwind? Play Summoner. Tired of that? Go Flame Charge. The variety is insane and the power is unmatched.

Who's this for? Players who want one class that does everything.

Value: Maximum flexibility with zero downside. If you played Barbarian last season, you're already set.

Necromancer-Minions Are Back... But Can You Survive?

Here's where it gets spicy. Golem and minion builds are finally working as intended-the Undercrown helmet is a game-changer, giving massive damage boosts and better minion AI control. Blood Wave is relevant again. BUT-Glenn's Anvil aspect got nerfed hard, and survivability is now a serious problem. Players are dropping Anvil for Disobedience just to stay alive. Minion AI is still wonky, especially with Gollum doing his own thing mid-fight.

Who's this for? Minion lovers who don't mind struggling to stay alive.

Value: The most fun build variety in the game-if you can survive long enough to enjoy it.

Sorcerer-Fallen King or Sleeping Giant?

Season 13's undisputed king took a massive hit. Unstable Currents is no longer god-tier, but Firewall, Hydra, and Meteor builds are all back on the menu. The Firestorm unique helm got a huge buff with Air Attunement nerfed. Frost? Still irrelevant. The real story is the Three-Fold Charm set-it's so dominant it's almost mandatory. Free value that every build just slots in.

Who's this for? Players who love raw AoE destruction and don't mind losing the crown.

Value: Still a top-tier class with insane build variety-just not the automatic win button anymore.

Rogue-Is This a Bug or the New Meta?

150+ pit clears. Tower cleared like it's nothing. Death Trap + Penetrating Shot is doing "infinitely scaling damage"-which is basically a massive bug that needs fixing ASAP. Twisting Blade and Dance of Knife builds are solid. But Shadow Imbuement is completely useless in endgame, and Poison/Cold are the only imbuements that matter. This class is either broken or about to get patched into the ground.

Who's this for? Players who want to exploit bugs before they're fixed.

Value: Comically overpowered right now-but don't get too attached.

Druid-Quietly the Strongest Class on PTR?

Lightning Shred Druid is hitting 130-140 clears and survivability is NOT an issue. With Glenn's Anvil nerfed, Druids just pivot to Disobedience + Galen's Birthright for massive damage reduction.

Other classes are crying about survivability, but Druid is chilling. The bad news? Companion Druid got destroyed-Shepherd's Aspect nerfed from 13% to 3% multiplier is brutal. That build is basically dead.

Who's this for? Players who want a strong, safe class with minimal effort.

Value: The sleeper OP class of Season 14 PTR. Lightning Shred is disgusting.

Spiritborn & Paladin-The Forgotten Children

Spiritborn is still running the same Ravager/Rushing Claw build-but nerfed. Permanent evasion was gutted, four-charge refill is gone. It's the same thing, just worse. Paladin got some freshness with Holy Bolt + Judgment builds, but survivability is horrible, output is bottom-tier, and vulnerable generation is a nightmare without Set Rune. Both classes need serious buffs.

Who's this for? Masochists who love underdog classes.

Value: Almost none right now. Pray for post-PTR buffs.

Final Tips: Who Should You Play in Season 14?

Barbarian Mains → You win again. Nothing changed. Enjoy.

Druid Players → Lightning Shred is your new best friend. Silent killer with excellent Diablo IV Items scaling.

Necro Fans → Fun builds, but bring a ton of potions.

Rogue Lovers → Abuse the bug now, cry later.

Paladin/Spiritborn → Hold out for PTR patches or main something else.
