If your stash is full, move spare guns onto Outpost weapon racks and compatible trinkets or food onto storage furniture. A four-weapon rack frees up space for four guns; a Sturdy Shelf provides 24 slots for eligible items. Start with whichever category is crowding your stash before spending materials on decorations.

A fully expanded layout with nine four-weapon racks holds 36 guns. Players also report reaching 60 by keeping six loaded racks in Furniture Storage.

Weapons have reportedly disappeared from ordinary wall racks too, so the risk extends beyond that storage trick. Keep irreplaceable equipment in your regular stash while testing it.

Move Your First Four Weapons

If you have already unlocked the ARC Raiders Outpost, check for Sturdy Weapon Rack first. Both Sturdy and Polished designs unlock through Sheltered Retreat's third stage; neither requires Research Station upgrades.

1. Enter the Outpost's main room and select a wall furniture position.

2. If a default shelf occupies it, move that shelf into Furniture Storage. Recycle it only if you no longer want it, after checking the material return.

3. Select Sturdy Weapon Rack and craft it with 10 Sheet Metal. Polished holds the same four guns for 20 Sheet Metal and 10 Plastic Parts, so use it only if you prefer its appearance or cannot access Sturdy.

4. Open the placed rack's interaction menu and choose Decorate. On PC, right-click the rack; on controller, follow the displayed prompts. Assign up to four spare guns from your stash.

5. Return to Stash and confirm the guns have moved. Retrieve them through the rack's item interface when needed.

Three Sturdy racks move 12 guns for 30 Sheet Metal. Start with replaceable spares because rack reliability is a separate concern from capacity.

Decorate assigns eligible items to furniture. Furniture Storage holds furniture pieces themselves; opening it will not show all your loose loot.

Count the Space You Actually Gain

Furniture removes stored items from your regular stash without raising its numerical limit. Frozen Trail's separate regular stash upgrades reach 328 slots before Expedition rewards or acquired Nomadic Envoy space. Treat furniture as overflow for eligible ARC Raiders items, not as unrestricted stash expansion.

Nine 24-slot shelves would provide 216 eligible item slots, using the same walls as nine racks. Claims of 500-plus items depend on compatible stacks, not 500 unrestricted stash slots. You cannot count both furniture types on the same walls simultaneously.

Best Furniture for Weapons

The Sturdy Weapon Rack is the economical choice when available: it holds four weapons for 10 Sheet Metal. The Polished version has the same capacity for more materials. The Battered rack holds three, so selecting the lowest material cost alone can leave you with fewer weapon spaces.

Research unlocks a design; crafting each piece costs materials separately. Finding and learning a design avoids its research cost. Keep useful spare guns; sell unwanted duplicates for ARC Raiders Coins instead of spending materials on racks to hold them indefinitely.

Best Furniture for Trinkets and Stacks

Choose Sturdy Shelf for compatible trinkets and stacks; Sturdy Den Shelf is a different, lower-capacity piece. Use Diner Cupboard in larger positions and Warehouse Dresser in smaller ones. If a design is missing, use existing furniture while seeking its design or reaching Research Station II.

Before selling trinkets, check whether you need their recycling materials. Supported objects such as radios or toasters let you retain future component value on furniture; dismantling them immediately can leave loose materials that the Outpost will not accept.

Fill one piece before making more; extra shelves cannot solve a stash full of unsupported ARC parts or ammunition.

Store 36 to 60 Weapons in Your Outpost

The Standard 36-Weapon Setup

Your ARC Raiders Outpost capacity grows with its usable wall positions:

24

Main building plus three expansion rooms

9 displayed

36

Full layout plus six loaded racks in Furniture Storage

9 displayed, 6 stored

60 reported

The first two totals require a four-weapon rack in every counted position. The third also requires six available furniture storage spaces and the loaded-rack interaction to work. Unlocking the Outpost alone does not provide 60 weapon spaces.

Check all camera views before concluding that a position is missing. The main building has four grouped wall positions and two in the bedroom area, including one that is easy to overlook. Existing shelves can occupy rack-compatible positions. Move them into storage to inspect the available replacements.

If you find only five main-room positions, revisit both bedroom walls. Three-weapon Battered racks reduce the total.

The Additional Rack Storage Method

Players report keeping weapons attached when moving a loaded rack into Furniture Storage. A duplicate you would otherwise sell for ARC Raiders Coins is a sensible test item:

1. Place a four-weapon rack on a compatible wall.

2. Add a low-value test gun through Decorate.

3. Choose the option to move the rack into Furniture Storage.

4. Restore that same rack and check that the gun remains attached and retrievable.

5. If successful, store the loaded rack again and use the wall for another rack.

Six stored four-weapon racks add 24 guns to the 36 displayed on nine walls, producing the reported total of 60. Other stored furniture uses the available furniture capacity, so do not assume six additional racks will always fit.

This is an undocumented interaction, and players have reported weapons disappearing from racks. The test checks your current session; it cannot establish long-term reliability or guarantee that a later update preserves the behavior.

Best Outpost Layout for Extra Stash Space

Weapon-Focused Layout

For an ARC Raiders stash crowded with spare guns, dedicate compatible walls to four-weapon racks. Put trinkets on floor furniture where possible. Fill the main building's positions before expanding, then add rooms as you need more wall space.

Keep your next raid's equipment easy to retrieve. Reserve rack space for weapons you expect to use, and leave irreplaceable guns in Stash while reliability remains a concern.

Balanced Storage Layout

Start with two four-weapon racks and one Sturdy Shelf wherever those pieces fit. That gives eight weapon spaces and 24 slots for supported items. Add a Diner Cupboard in a larger floor position and a Warehouse Dresser in a smaller one if your remaining loot justifies the materials.

After transferring items, add racks if guns still dominate or shelves if eligible trinkets remain. For ordinary crafting materials, sort the stash directly. Let the ARC Raiders items filling your Stash determine which piece to build next, rather than filling every furniture position by default.

Room expansions are permanent in the documented setup. Early warnings that Panoramic has no rack position are outdated: players subsequently reported a usable wall position near its door, including after the hotfix. Check the doorway wall and cycle views if the build menu obscures it. Review room interiors before committing, but do not reject Panoramic on the old zero-rack claim.

Unlock the Outpost and Research Station

Complete the Sheltered Retreat Stages

Reach Raider Level 18, open the Outpost tab, and start Sheltered Retreat. Complete and claim each stage before pursuing the next objective:

1. Take a camera to Ruined Homestead in southern Blue Gate. Photograph a farmhouse, then return to Speranza and claim the stage. A Basic Camera is sufficient; craft one at the Workbench or obtain one through Shani if needed.

2. Commit 3 Planks, 5 Sheet Metal, 10 ARC Alloy and 3 Advanced Electrical Components. Celeste trades Planks and Sheet Metal for Assorted Seeds, letting you cover a shortfall without another material run.

3. Deal 800 cumulative damage to flying ARC and 300 to Bullies. Wasps and Hornets count toward the flying requirement; look for Bullies on Pendola Pass. The objective requires damage, so you do not need to finish a Bully kill.

Use a basic loadout for a small remaining damage requirement. Losing expensive equipment means spending more ARC Raiders Coins on replacements; Celeste's construction materials use Assorted Seeds.

Build the Level 1 Research Station

Install the Research Station with 35 Planks, 5 Battered Paperbacks and 3 Mini Pumps. Search Pendola Pass's Old Town for books and technological or electrical areas such as the Observatory for pumps; these are search targets, not guaranteed drops.

Recycle unwanted draped clutter inside the Outpost for Planks, checking the preview first. The station's Designs tab lists researchable furniture, but the high-capacity shelf, cupboard and dresser require level II for research. Your stage-three weapon rack designs already let you start clearing space.

Common Outpost Storage Problems

Items Missing from the Selection List

Select the placed furniture and open Decorate. Eligible trinkets and Scrappy food can appear here; do not assume ammo, keys or ordinary materials are supported. Furniture Storage lists stored furniture, which can explain an apparently empty list when you are looking for loose items. Not all ARC Raiders items work with Decorate, so verify eligibility before crafting another shelf.

Weapons Missing from Any Rack

Disappearance reports include ordinary wall-mounted racks, not only pieces moved into Furniture Storage. Check both locations for the original loaded rack. If weapons remain absent, stop rearranging it and report the contents and preceding action. There is no verified recovery method here; repeated restarts are not a dependable fix.

Unable to Replace an Outpost Room

Existing room modules cannot be freely swapped in the documented system. Moving furniture will not replace the room itself. Check the current ARC Raiders patch notes before committing materials to another expansion.

Materials Still Occupying the Stash

Furniture accepts selected objects, leaving most loose crafting materials in the ordinary stash. Keep eligible recyclable items intact when you want to store their future component value. Recycle them when you need the components, allowing regular stash space for the resulting materials.
