A look at the nine classic Zombies maps brought into Black Ops 2 through the fan-made DLC5 project.

Summary

BLACK OPS 2 DLC5 ZOMBIE MAPS are finally becoming a reality through a fan-made BO2 mod, bringing nine classic Zombies experiences into a new environment. The test run covers Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Der Riese, Kino der Toten, Five, Ascension, Shangri-La, and Moon.

The verdict is clear: the project already has serious potential, but it is still a beta. Several maps suffer from dark lighting, zombie AI problems, clipping, weapon animations and broken interactions. Players looking for extra multiplayer progression can also check buy COD Black Ops 2 Bot Lobbies as a separate option.

BLACK OPS 2 DLC5 ZOMBIE MAPS: What Works and What Doesn't

The current beta features Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Der Riese, Kino der Toten, Five, Ascension, Shangri-La and Moon.

The biggest attraction is the ability to experience familiar World at War and Black Ops-era maps with BO2's movement, weapons and systems. The mod also introduces features that make some maps feel noticeably different from their original versions.

Nacht der Untoten is a straightforward starting point, but its simplicity becomes repetitive without additional Wonder Weapons or Pack-a-Punch features. The classic Ray Gun and Thunder Gun provide some memorable moments, while BO2 weapon integration adds variety.

Verrückt feels much more interesting because of its expanded wall-buy selection and updated perk setup. Double Tap 2.0 is particularly useful, although lighting remains noticeably dark in several areas.

Shi No Numa retains its iconic swamp atmosphere and randomized perk locations. However, the map can be brutal because of cramped routes, unpredictable zombie behavior and occasional progression issues.

Der Riese delivers one of the strongest experiences in the test. Pack-a-Punch can be activated, the Wunderwaffe works, and the classic teleporters remain functional. A few weapon reload animations still need polishing.

Black Ops 2 Zombies DLC 5 Map Performance and Biggest Bugs

The beta still has lighting, AI, clipping, animation and interaction issues that affect several Zombies maps.

Kino der Toten demonstrates both the potential and unfinished state of the Black Ops 2 Zombies DLC 5 Map project. The map retains its recognizable layout while using BO2-style weapons and systems, but Nova Crawler gas can reportedly cause instant deaths.

Five successfully features the Pentagon Thief sequence and Pack-a-Punch, yet lighting becomes extremely dark after the power is activated. The map also contains weapon presentation issues that clearly need additional development.

Ascension offers another interesting combination of old-school mechanics and BO2 gameplay. PhD and the Space Monkeys remain central to the experience, but the Monkey AI can become unreliable, occasionally leaving players exposed or behaving incorrectly.

Shangri-La is arguably one of the most chaotic maps in the lineup. The Baby Gun is available, but some of its functionality does not behave as expected. Monkey interactions and lighting also require more work.

Moon is the most visually unfinished map in the test. While iconic equipment such as Gersch Devices and the Astronaut enemy are present, exterior areas currently suffer from severe texture, lighting and atmosphere problems.

Beta Warning: The project is still under development. Lighting, zombie AI, clipping, weapon animations and map interactions can change significantly in future builds.

Current Pros and Cons

Pros

  • 9 classic Zombies maps playable through the project

  • BO2 weapons and movement add a fresh gameplay layer

  • Several classic mechanics already function correctly

  • Pack-a-Punch and Wonder Weapons appear on multiple maps

  • Strong potential for future custom Zombies content

Cons

  • Dark or inconsistent lighting across several maps

  • Zombie AI and pathfinding bugs

  • Weapon animation and interaction issues

  • Some Wonder Weapon mechanics are unfinished

  • Moon currently needs substantial visual polish

For players interested in COD Black Ops 2 Bot Lobbies, this Zombies project is a different experience altogether. The focus here is not competitive multiplayer progression but experimenting with classic Zombies content inside a modified BO2 framework.

Why This Black Ops 2 DLC5 Project Matters

The most exciting aspect of BLACK OPS 2 DLC5 ZOMBIE MAPS is not simply replaying old maps. It is the possibility of what the community can build after the foundation becomes stable.

Future updates could introduce additional Wonder Weapons, custom perks, new gameplay systems and more ambitious Easter eggs. The developer is also expected to continue improving lighting and fixing gameplay bugs, while additional Zombies content is planned for the mod.

The current build should therefore be viewed as a work-in-progress showcase rather than a finished DLC package. Even with its problems, the ability to play nine classic maps inside BO2 is already a major achievement for the modding community.

TL;DR:

BLACK OPS 2 DLC5 ZOMBIE MAPS currently deliver nine classic maps in a promising but unfinished BO2 mod. Der Riese, Kino and Shangri-La show strong potential, while Moon, Ascension and several others still need substantial bug fixes.

Which of these nine maps would you most like to see fully polished first? And what new Wonder Weapon or perk should the mod add next? Players can also explore COD Black Ops 2 Bot Lobbies for additional BO2 multiplayer options.
