Step-by-Step Farming Method
Step 1: Run Escalating Nightmare Dungeons
Start running Escalating Nightmare Dungeons. The first two dungeon layers do not matter—select whichever affixes you prefer for these. Your goal is to reach the third layer with specific affixes.
Step 2: Target the Right Affixes
At the end of the second layer, when selecting affixes for the third dungeon, look for two specific affixes:
1. Your desired gem reserve (e.g., Amethyst Reserve for shadow resistance fragments, Skull Reserve for skull fragments, etc.)
2. Dark Omen affix (extremely important for boosting farming efficiency)
If you do not get these affixes, finish the escalating nightmare dungeon and start a new one. Repeat until you hit the right combination. This is the most time-consuming part of the process—but once you hit it, the farm becomes incredibly efficient.
Step 3: Clear the Third Dungeon Layer
Once you have the correct affixes, enter the third dungeon layer and open all chests. On Torment 12, each chest can contain up to 270,000 gem fragments. There are multiple chests on this dungeon layer.
Step 4: Kill the Dark Omen Boss
Because of the Dark Omen affix, an additional boss will ambush you. This can be the Butcher, Axe Fall, or another mini-boss. Defeating this boss drops 750,000 gem fragments—a massive boost to your farming efficiency.
Step 5: The Reset Trick
After clearing the third layer and opening all chests, do not kill the layer boss. Instead:
1. Teleport to town
2. Enter a nearby normal dungeon (e.g., Seer's Reach)
3. Once inside, open your Sanctuary map

Affix Rolling Can Take Time
