Overview
The Elder Scrolls Online Season 2, "Echoes of Skyrim," is now live on all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox, and PlayStation) and runs until January 27, 2027. This new season brings fan-favorite chapter and DLC content into the base game, introduces the game's first solo dungeons, and adds new rewards and player experience improvements.
The most important thing to know: All new gameplay and features in Season 2 are completely free for all ESO players (no purchase required). The only paid content is the optional Premium tier of the new Tamriel Tomes. As with every ESO season, new features roll out over the course of the season—and if you want to get ahead, you can buy ESO Items to speed up your progress—here's the full timeline and your guide to getting started.
1. Available Now (Since October 21, 2026)
1.1 The Greymoor Chapter Added to the Base Game
The fan-favorite Greymoor chapter is now free in the base game. You get, at no cost:
Western Skyrim and its full storyline
The Antiquities system
The "Shield of the Goddess Kyne" 12-player trial
Highlights: Delve into the dark heart of Skyrim, explore Solitude and the subterranean realm of Blackreach, and face the evil at the center of it all—all completely free.
How to start: After logging in, go to Collections → Stories → Chapters, find Greymoor, and pick up the starter quest.
1.2 The Wolfhunter DLC Added to the Base Game
The Wolfhunter DLC is also now free in the base game, including two Hircine-themed dungeons:
Moon Hunter Keep
March of Sacrifices
If you never unlocked the original four-player versions, you can now experience them too.
1.3 Solo Dungeons: Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices
This is the first time ESO has offered solo dungeons, converting the two popular four-player dungeons into solo-ready versions.
Dungeon | Features |
Moon Hunter Keep | Hircine-themed, variable difficulty options, new rewards |
March of Sacrifices | Same as above |
Who it's for: Lone wolves. If you previously missed these dungeons because you couldn't find a group, now's your chance to conquer them solo.
Tip: Learn the mechanics first, then ramp up the difficulty; the solo versions offer customizable challenges worth farming repeatedly.
2. Content Rolling Out During the Season
The following arrives gradually over Season 2—no need to rush:
Content | Expected Timing |
The Markarth DLC added to the base game | November 9 |
Skyrim-themed Golden Pursuits event | November |

2.2 About the PvP Season
Important: ESO's PvP "seasons" last about six months and span multiple content seasons. This PvP season begins late in Season 2 but will run through Season 3 and Season 4, bringing new rewards to Tamriel's fiercest warriors

The new season brings a fresh Tamriel Tome with Free, Premium, and Premium Collector's options, ensuring every ESO player can unlock generous rewards.
Example rewards:

Other items, currency, and collectibles
Tip: The Free track still yields some rewards; players who want more can choose Premium or Premium Collector's.

The Golden Coast Market rewards store has updated its inventory alongside Season 2.
Returning rewards this season include:
Skeleton Giant Target Dummy (Revived)
The Treasure Hunter's Alpine Gallery home

In the season's final week, the U52 update delivers a batch of highly requested improvements:
Increased furnishing limits for certain homes—the limit for "Notable" homes doubles
Companion appearance customization: further customize your companions' head and face
