FC 27 PlayStyle+ Changes and Icon Upgrades: Biggest Leaks Explained

summary

FC 27 introduces major PlayStyle+ and stat upgrades for Icons and regular gold players. Standouts include Gullit's Quick Step+, Rooney's improved all-around stats, Desailly's defensive boosts, and Vinícius Jr.'s Finesse Shot+. While most changes are positive, some players, such as Chloe Kelly and Puyol, may lose value after receiving less effective PlayStyle+ replacements, making it important for players who plan to buy FC 27 Coins to carefully evaluate the best cards for their Ultimate Team squads.

Major Icon Upgrades in FC 27

Carlos Puyol

· Puyol reportedly loses Block+ and receives Slide Tackle+.

· Slide Tackle+ fits his aggressive defensive style.

· However, Intercept+, Anticipate+, or Quick Step+ could have made him more competitive.

· This change may not be enough to make Puyol a top-tier early-game defender.

Sol Campbell

· Campbell receives Bruiser+.

· His defending, physicality, and dribbling attributes also receive improvements.

· His strong physical profile has historically made promotional versions extremely difficult to play against.

· The new PlayStyle+ could make him a powerful defensive option at launch.

Kenny Dalglish

· Dalglish keeps Finesse Shot+.

· His dribbling reportedly reaches 90.

· He also receives Incisive First Touch.

· Dalglish already performs well in Ultimate Team, so the improved ball control could make him even more dangerous around the box.

Marcel Desailly

· Desailly receives an upgrade to 89 OVR.

· His defensive and physical attributes are improved.

· He keeps Block+ while also having Bruiser+.

· This combination could make him one of the strongest defensive Icons early in FC 27.

Didier Drogba

· Drogba receives 90 Physical.

· His dribbling also gets a slight boost.

· Power Shot+ replaces Enforcer+.

· Power Shot+ could be particularly useful if long-range finishing remains effective in FC 27.

Ruud Gullit

Gullit could be one of the biggest winners from these changes:

· His pace has been increased.

· His physical and dribbling attributes look significantly stronger.

· Quick Step+ replaces Enforcer+.

· His size, versatility, and improved acceleration could make him much more effective.

· Gullit's new profile may finally restore some of his former dominance in Ultimate Team.

More Icon Changes

Several other Icons also receive notable adjustments:

· Néstor: Block+ replaces Slide Tackle+.

· Puskás: First Touch+ reportedly changes to Power Shot+.

· Wayne Rooney: Receives major improvements across multiple attributes.

· Alan Shearer: Precision Header+ changes to Power Shot+.

Wayne Rooney Looks Particularly Strong

Rooney stands out among the upgraded Icons:

· Low Driven+ replaces Power Shot+.

· Shooting receives an improvement.

· Passing rises from 81 to 84.

· Dribbling increases to 88.

· Physical attributes also receive a boost.

· His improved passing and ball control could make him much more versatile.

FC 27 Gold Players With PlayStyle+ Changes

The leaked regular cards also contain several interesting adjustments.

Notable Upgrades

· Jude Bellingham: Low Driven+ could help him contribute more goals.

· Bruno Fernandes: Receives Incisive+.

· Vitinha: Incisive+ could improve his attacking creativity.

· Valverde: Power Shot+ provides additional shooting potential.

· Caicedo: Intercept+ makes him more attractive defensively.

· Paredes: Intercept+ could turn him into a strong budget midfield option.

· Barcola: Rapid+ could make him extremely dangerous on the wing.

· Russo: Low Driven+ gives her a strong attacking option.

· Dembélé: Finesse Shot+ could make him one of the most dangerous attackers.

Vinícius Jr. Could Be a Meta Card

Vinícius Jr. is one of the most exciting cards in the leaks.

· He receives Finesse Shot+.

· His existing pace and dribbling already make him dangerous.

· If he can effectively play as a striker, his new PlayStyle+ could be extremely powerful.

· His combination of speed, dribbling, and finesse finishing could make him one of the most expensive gold cards early in FC 27.

Some Changes Could Be Downgrades

Not every PlayStyle+ adjustment looks positive.

Chloe Kelly

· Kelly reportedly receives Power Shot+.

· Her previous Finesse Shot+ was a major reason for her effectiveness.

· Losing Finesse Shot+ could therefore significantly reduce her early-game value.

Puyol

· Replacing Block+ with Slide Tackle+ may not solve his biggest gameplay weaknesses.

· A PlayStyle such as Intercept+ or Anticipate+ could have offered more defensive value.

Alan Shearer

· Power Shot+ is useful, but Shearer's traditional striker profile may still limit his effectiveness.

· His body type and movement remain important factors for players considering him.

What These Changes Mean for FC 27 Ultimate Team

Overall, the PlayStyle+ changes appear to be mostly positive.

The biggest trends include:

· Icons receiving stronger and more relevant attributes.

· Older Icons becoming more competitive.

· PlayStyle+ changes being used to improve certain weaknesses.

· Pace remaining extremely important for defenders.

· Finesse Shot+ continuing to be highly valuable for attacking players.

· Several affordable gold cards potentially becoming early-game meta options.

Final Thoughts

EA appears to be making a serious effort to restore the prestige of Icons in FC 27.

The most exciting changes include:

· Gullit's Quick Step+

· Rooney's major stat boosts

· Desailly's defensive upgrades

· Dalglish's improved dribbling

· Vinícius Jr.'s Finesse Shot+

· Dembélé's attacking potential

· Barcola's Rapid+

However, some players may actually become less appealing after losing valuable PlayStyle+ abilities.

With FC 27 approaching its worldwide release, these changes will be crucial in determining which Icons and gold cards become must-have players. The combination of upgraded attributes, revised PlayStyle+ options, and FC 27's new gameplay systems should create a very different Ultimate Team meta from previous editions, so players looking for an early advantage may consider cheap FC 27 Coins to build competitive squads and test the strongest cards.
