Ultimate Scream returns to FC 27, built around token collection and redemption, limited-time card upgrades, and themed Evolutions. This guide covers how to farm tokens, what to buy first, when your cards get stronger, and what not to miss before the event ends.
1. The Core Resource: Ultimate Scream Tokens
Nearly every reward in Ultimate Scream is redeemed with Ultimate Scream Tokens. Tokens come from three sources: themed Objectives, daily SBCs, and Flash Rush events.
Key detail: The Token Store stays open for one extra week after the event ends, so tokens earned late won't go to waste.
2. Token Farming: Two Main Routes
Week 1 offers roughly 630 tokens across two objective groups.
Route 1: Phantom Playgrounds (450 tokens)
This is the bulk of Week 1 tokens. Completing all 7 objectives yields 450 tokens (50 per objective plus a 100-token group completion bonus).
Key requirement: Every objective requires at least one player of a specified nationality in your starting XI. Here's the breakdown:
Objective | Nationality | Requirement |
Gulyabani's Wrath | Turkey | Play 7 matches |
Tricks and Treats | None (needs 4★ weak foot+) | Score from outside the box in 10 different matches |
Nessie's Deep Gift | Scotland | Through-ball assists in 15 different matches |
Grýla's Cauldron | Iceland | Win 13 matches |
Lost Your Head? | USA | Score 10 headers |
The Red Countess | Hungary | Score a chip shot in 5 different matches |
Spirit Harvest | Any Ultimate Scream player | Score 50 goals |
Modes: Squad Battles (min. Semi-Pro) or Rivals/Live Events/Rush/Champions.
Tip: Prioritize cumulative objectives like "win 13 matches" and "play 7 matches" first, while loading your squad with the required nationalities. If you're missing a nationality, buy the cheapest bronze card on the transfer market — the cost is negligible.
Route 2: Ultimate Scream Puzzle Completionist (280 tokens)
Complete all 6 daily SBCs in Week 1 (Spooky Nights, Scary Candy, Boo Hoo Party, Freaky Zombie, Pumpkin Seeds, Hocus Pocus) to earn 280 tokens plus 100 SP.
Low-cost Spooky Nights solution: Three USA bronze players (e.g., FC Cincinnati players) + one USA gold + one MLS bronze + two out-of-position golds. Total cost is roughly 3,500 coins. Apply the same logic to every daily SBC — don't overspend.
Additional sources
Flash Rush: Twice per week, extra tokens.
Ghoul Fest (Week 2): No Rules mode with offsides and fouls unpunished; completing objectives earns tokens.
3. Token Store Priorities: Don't Waste Tokens
Store items range from 50 to 1,500 tokens. Here's a value-ranked recommendation.
High priority (buy these first)
Item | Price | Why |
Ultimate Scream Team 1 Guarantee Pack | 800 tokens | Guaranteed event card — the most direct power upgrade tokens can buy |
3x 85+ Gold Players Pack | 400 tokens | High-rated pack, useful for SBCs or squad depth |
4x 84+ Gold Players Pack | 400 tokens | Same, stable SBC fodder value |
Wicked Winger (PlayStyle+ Evolution) | 800 tokens | Adds a PlayStyle+ to a wide player — strong long-term value |
Medium priority (depends on your squad)
Item | Price | Notes |
Ultimate Scream Jill Scott (87 CB) | 1,500 tokens | Most expensive item; only if you urgently need a CB and have spare tokens |
Ultimate Scream Véron (87 ST) | 900 tokens | Hero card; sentimental value over practical value |
Enzo Le Fée (86 LM) | 550 tokens | Midfield filler, reasonably priced |
Low priority (cosmetic/collector)
Retro 17/19/20 cosmetic Evolutions (100 tokens each) and Ultimate Scream cosmetic Evolutions (100/500/900 tiers) are purely visual. Consider them only after you have tokens to spare.
If your goal is fast squad improvement: buy the Guarantee Pack (800) first, then spend remaining tokens on 85+ or 84+ packs. If you can't afford the Guarantee Pack, prioritize 85+ packs over low-tier player cards.
4. Beaver Moon Upgrade: November 24 Is Power-Up Day
This is Ultimate Scream's signature mechanic: all Ultimate Scream player items receive a temporary upgrade for one full week starting November 24, 2026.
What the upgrade does:
One face stat is boosted to 99 (EA hasn't confirmed whether this is random or predetermined).
Full in-position Chemistry: the card automatically gets full chemistry in its correct position — no links required.
Strategic implications:
If you pull or redeem an Ultimate Scream card before November 24, hold it and evaluate it during upgrade week.
Full in-position chemistry means you can slot Ultimate Scream cards into any squad without breaking chemistry — extremely flexible squad building.
The upgrade is temporary and ends December 1, so that week is the best window to use these cards.
