Summary
MapleStory Classic World's Grand Launch adds player housing, expands Perion and introduces a new set of launch and Halloween events. Your first priorities are unlocking useful systems, starting cumulative check-ins and protecting the mesos needed for progression—not buying every decoration or chasing every boss immediately.
This guide separates the Grand Launch rules from older Founder's Access information. Times are UTC. Database-derived quest details and room layouts are identified where used; recommended routes and spending priorities are practical suggestions, not developer-prescribed requirements.

1. Your Opening Route: Reach the Unlocks That Matter
Prepare the launcher, confirm the Classic World version, and test movement, jumping, attacking and item pickup before grinding. For a new character, use these milestones to organise your town visits.
| Milestone | What to unlock or check | Recommended action |
|---|---|---|
| Level 10 | First job, Crafting and The Journey Begins | Advance your job and accept the check-in quest before returning to eligible monsters. |
| Level 12 | Citizenship | Register in your preferred town and inspect its Community Board. |
| Level 15 | New-account trade timer | Record when the character reaches 15; the restriction lasts another 24 hours. |
| Level 21 | First Time Together | Find Lakelis in Kerning City on channels 3–12. |
| Level 25 | The Marks We Leave Behind | Speak to Jay in Henesys and start the journal trail. |
| Level 30 | Second job | Visit your instructor and choose the intended branch. |
Housing is not a separate level-only unlock. Citizenship eligibility and the required grade still matter, even when you can already reach the registrar.

The first-job destinations remain Perion for Warrior, Ellinia for Magician, Henesys for Bowman and Kerning City for Thief. Use Classic World's stated level-10 requirement rather than importing a different MapleStory version's advancement rules.
2. Housing: How to Get Your First Home
Register as a Citizen, Then Find the Housing Registrar
Housing requires Citizenship grade Visitor or higher. You purchase the home with mesos and may own one home at a time; characters on the same account share it.
| Town | Citizenship registration | Home purchase | Room reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Henesys | Arthur, Henesys Town Hall | Bianca, Housing Registrar | Yellow Mushroom House |
| Kerning City | Roxy, Kerning City Civic Center | Scarlett, Housing Registrar | Backalley Semi-Basement |
Registrar names come from the launch notes; room names and layouts below come from the public-client housing database.
Suggested sequence: reach level 12 → register for Citizenship → check your current grade → use Community Board requests if you need Contribution → speak to the appropriate registrar once you meet the requirement.
Do not confuse Arthur/Roxy, who handle Citizenship, with Bianca/Scarlett, who handle buying the home. The registration interface also states that you can contribute to only one town at a time.

Compare the Rooms Before Spending

Choose the town you expect to visit regularly, then inspect the actual purchase dialogue. The launch notice does not publish a house price. Do not mistake a furniture database's NPC sellback value for its purchase price.
Buy Utility Before Decoration
Client and furniture records list storage chests, six crafting-station types and a training dummy alongside decorative items. Those records describe functions; they do not establish the live purchase price or acquisition method for every piece.
My suggested budget order is combat supplies → necessary gear or crafting → house purchase → useful furnishings → decoration. Check a furnishing's function before buying it, and place one item at a time while learning the room layout. A training dummy is a testing object, not a promised source of EXP or drops.
3. The Journey Begins: Complete Tasks, Not Just Logins
Event window: 21 October, 18:00–18 November, 23:59 UTC. At level 10, accept [Event] The Journey Begins from Maple Administrator. The event is a collection-and-turn-in check-in, not an automatic reward for opening the game.
Daily procedure: accept/check the quest → defeat level-10-or-higher monsters → collect the required Maple Leaves → return to Maple Administrator → confirm the reward and completed-check-in count.
The quest database lists 30 Maple Leaves, including a matching completion check. The release notice names the item without specifying a quantity, so use 30 as the database reference and the live quest counter as the final requirement.
Check-ins are once per day per account and cumulative. Missing Tuesday after claiming your first reward on Monday makes your next successful check-in reward number two—not a reset to one or an automatic jump to three.
All 14 Check-In Rewards
| Completed check-in | Reward | Duration or expiry |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Snail pet; Pet Food ×30; Red Potion ×30; Blue Potion ×30 | Snail: 18 November, 23:59 UTC; food: 30 days; potions: permanent |
| 2 | Safety Charm ×3 | 7 days |
| 3 | Blue Potion ×20 | Permanent |
| 4 | Regular Store Permit | 7 days |
| 5 | Return Scroll – Nearest Town ×5 | 7 days |
| 6 | Megaphone ×3 | 7 days |
| 7 | Cake ×20 | 7 days |
| 8 | Atmospheric Effect Box ×3 | 7 days |
| 9 | Blue Potion ×20 | Permanent |
| 10 | Safety Charm ×3 | 7 days |
| 11 | Cake ×20 | 7 days |
| 12 | Regular Store Permit | 7 days |
| 13 | Megaphone ×3 | 7 days |
| 14 | Item Megaphone ×2 | 7 days |
The reward sequence and durations follow the Grand Launch reward table. The Snail cannot be revived.
Claiming late does not turn the pet into a fresh 30-day companion. Its published expiry is fixed. Check the timers on seven-day consumables and permits as soon as they enter your inventory.
A separate official change also makes newly obtained megaphones require level 15 from Grand Launch; existing older megaphones are treated differently. Receiving a megaphone at level 10 therefore does not establish that you can use it immediately.
4. The Marks We Leave Behind: Follow the Journal in Order
At level 25, talk to Jay in Henesys to begin the event and obtain the Adventurer's Journal. The database records an introduction followed by six sequential mark quests.
Journal Route Reference
The following is a quest-data route, not a personally tested coordinate walkthrough. Each stage requires the previous one; confirm that your journal advances before leaving.
| Stage | Destination or objective | What the records support |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Jay, Henesys | Receive the journal and activate the first clue. |
| First Mark | The Pig Beach | The next page is associated with a crack among the rocks. |
| Second Mark | Someone Else's House | The next page is held by monsters in that map. |
| Third Mark | Marr's Forest | The journal associates the page with an old tree. |
| Fourth Mark | Mong from Kong, Kerning City | The entry identifies this turn-in NPC and a 10-meso exchange. |
| Fifth Mark | Reassemble four scraps | The journal confirms four pieces; community reports identify The Land of Wild Boar II, not an official location instruction. |
| Final Mark | Ant Tunnel Park | The journal places the final reward beyond a hidden portal. |
The first four and final destinations come from individual quest records. The Fifth Mark map is a player-reported lead; its precise interaction and portal position are not verified here.
Troubleshooting: when a location produces no progress, first check the active quest and the journal page in your inventory. Do not treat arriving at a later map as completing earlier prerequisites. Leave room for quest items, and take a screenshot of the current clue before travelling.
This Is Not the Closed-Test Ring Reward
To Classic Beginners is a separate eligibility-based distribution. It checks completion of A Strange and Familiar Wood or Beyond the Unknown during Closed Online Test 1/2. Eligible accounts receive Classic Beginnings Label and Chat Rings through the Mailbox: one of each for one qualifying test, two of each for both.
Completing Jay's new quest is not a substitute for that historical test participation.
5. Halloween Candies: The Pumpkin Basket Requires Two Stages
Halloween starts 28 October, 00:00 UTC—not at the Grand Launch opening. Halloween Candies and Slime Attack run through 18 November, 23:59 UTC.
At level 10, start [Event] Halloween Candies with Malady. The release notes place her in Henesys and Kerning City. Collect 100 Halloween Candies from eligible level-10-or-higher monsters, then turn them in to Malady.

The quest data names Ribbon Pig, Dark Stump, Octopus and Green Mushroom as examples. Treat them as eligible examples, not proof of equal drop rates or a best farming map. Choose enemies you can defeat consistently without exhausting your recovery items.
Complete the Follow-Up Delivery
Handing in 100 candies unlocks the next part; it is not the complete Pumpkin Basket route. The Trick or Treat! quest data identifies three delivery clues:
| Child's clue | What to record |
|---|---|
| Dark tunnel | Whether this delivery has registered in the quest log |
| Open field | Which recipient you have already visited |
| High ground | Whether all three deliveries are now complete |
Exact recipient coordinates are not established by these sources. Follow the live quest hints, finish the three deliveries and complete the follow-up with Malady. The completion dialogue records the final handover.
Pumpkin Basket reward: a permanent, within-world-tradable one-handed sword with 27 Weapon Attack, +3 Speed, Attack Speed 3 and seven available enhancements. Compare those properties and equipment compatibility with your current weapon; an event reward is not automatically a damage upgrade for every job.
6. Slime Attack: Separate Quest Candy From Recovery Candy
Orange Slimes appear in Henesys, Ellinia, Kerning City and Perion during the Halloween event. Their possible drops include the quest material and three recovery candies.

| Drop | Function | Keep it for |
|---|---|---|
| Halloween Candies | Quest material; expires 18 November, 23:59 UTC | Malady's collection requirement |
| Red Malady's Candy | Restores 600 HP | Health recovery |
| Blue Malady's Candy | Restores 450 MP | Mana recovery |
| Green Malady's Candy | Restores 300 HP and 300 MP | Situations where both resources are low |
The recovery candies are listed as permanent and tradable; the quest material is untradable. A red, blue or green candy is not interchangeable with the item in the 100-candy quest counter.
Suggested routine: check for the town event during your return trip, sort the drops, complete the quest hand-in, then replenish supplies. Avoid abandoning an efficient training route merely to wait for an unverified spawn cycle.
7. Progression Between Events: Craft Carefully and Use the Correct Channel
Read a Recipe Before Using Craft All
The six crafting disciplines cover Smithing, Weaponcrafting, Tailoring, Woodcrafting, Leatherworking and Arcforge. Inspect the relevant recipe and required station before investing in a batch.

Select the output, read the materials and mesos cost, check the station, and craft a small batch first. Gathering the ore yourself does not remove the mesos cost. Keep housing savings separate from immediate equipment needs.
Do Not Mistake New Content for the Best Training Route
Perion's Excavation Site adds Ghost Stump, Wooden Mask, Rocky Mask, Skeledog, Mummydog, Skeleton Soldier, Officer Skeleton and Commander Skeleton. Stumpy also joins the boss lineup. The release notice does not supply a complete level, EXP, spawn-timer or drop table for these additions.
For a new map, run a short trial and compare kills, misses, incoming damage and potion use against your familiar route. Do not choose it solely because it is new.
For First Time Together, the practical entry check is level 21+, Lakelis in Kerning City, channels 3–12. A character standing beside the right NPC on the wrong channel has not met the complete published entry setup.
8. Event Calendar and Your Daily Routine
| Content | UTC window | Main action |
|---|---|---|
| Grand Launch | 21 October, 18:00 | Enter the correct client and start progression. |
| The Journey Begins | 21 October, 18:00–18 November, 23:59 | Complete cumulative daily turn-ins. |
| Marks / Classic Beginners | Listed 21 October–18 November, 23:59 | Progress Jay's quest / check historical ring eligibility. |
| Halloween Candies + Slime Attack | 28 October, 00:00–18 November, 23:59 | Collect quest materials and complete the follow-up. |
| Physical Fitness Challenge | 22 October, 00:00–02:00 | Follow the hosted event entry instructions. |
| Coconut Harvest | 6 November, 00:00–02:00 | Prepare for the team harvesting minigame. |
The notice lists the two commemorative events from 00:00 UTC on 21 October; that does not mean the game opens before its announced 18:00 launch. Its later Up and Up listing says 19 December, not October—do not reuse the older Founder's Access event calendar.
For hosted GM sessions, speak to Paul in Lith Harbor when the Event Door opens. Holding a Scroll of Secrets, or having participated in a GM event within the previous 24 hours, blocks entry. These restrictions are separate from the new-account trading timer.
Recommended daily loop: check active event tasks → train on suitable monsters → collect relevant materials → return for turn-ins → check timed rewards → handle Citizenship and crafting → spend on housing only after essential progression costs.
For a new account, record the level-15 timestamp as well. Trading opens 24 hours after a character reaches 15, not simply 24 hours after account creation. For example, reaching 15 on Tuesday at 20:00 means the stated waiting period ends on Wednesday at 20:00 in the same time zone; ordinary server availability still applies.
The priority is to finish the right prerequisites and claims—not merely visit every new feature.
