Summary

In SAND: Raiders of Sophie, you pilot a colossal walking mech called a trampler across a dieselpunk desert wasteland, scavenging wrecks and ruins while dodging or fighting other players. The tutorials are famously thin, so this guide covers everything you need to know—from loading your gear to extracting with your haul, helping you earn valuable rewards like the coveted SAND: Raiders of Sophie Crown without relying on outside purchases. Whether you're hunting for rare loot or aiming for the top-tier cosmetics, mastering these fundamentals will set you up for success.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie Guide: Raid Mechanics – How to Farm Loot, Extract with the Crown, and Master the Evacuation,SAND: Raiders of Sophie Crown

Choosing Your Mode

Voyage is the mode for beginners. It has no time limit, extractions are available from the start, and you can loot at your own pace. The catch is that players who dropped in an hour ago may already be roaming around loaded up—so keep your wits about you .

Storm Dive is the battle-royale mode with a shrinking circle and extractions that only appear partway through the match. Save it until you know what you're doing .

Your Starting Loadout

Select the Grumpy Walker blueprint early. It's cheap to rebuild if you lose it and has well-rounded stats .

On your person: bring some armor, two guns with the correct ammo for each (a revolver for close-to-mid range and a rifle for picking off distant tramplers is a solid combo), a stack of canned food, and a few fuel rods .

On the trampler: pack cannons with matching shells, more food for the fridge, spare fuel, and backup gear .

First Steps After Drop-in

Nothing spawns loaded. Every gun and cannon arrives in a green box on the racks. Your first job on every drop is to get everything combat-ready before moving .

Loading cannons correctly: your character can only carry one or two shells at a time. Instead of loading round by round, pick up the cannon kit, stand at the storage box, hold tab, and transfer the whole stack of ammo directly into it. Then mount the loaded cannon on the turret slot .

Loading personal guns: do the same for your firearms.

While you're at it: drop a few cans of food in the fridge so you can respawn quickly, and slot a fuel rod into the engine .

The Green Box Looting System

Your character's inventory is tiny. Instead of looting directly, grab an empty green box (spares are in your fridge) and carry it to the loot. Walk up to a crate and the contents pour straight into your box .

The critical rule: loot only counts if it's on the racks. When you bring a full box back, place it on the shelves inside your trampler. Captain's quarters and crew rooms have storage racks too .

Anything left loose on the floor when you extract is gone. Fill boxes, rack them, extract them—that's the loop .

Stay Hidden, Stay Alive

Turn the engine off when you stop. A running engine kicks out a thick column of black smoke visible from miles off, and it burns fuel even when parked. Switching off hides you and saves fuel .

Use your binoculars. When on the move, raise your binoculars to scan the horizon for that tell-tale smoke before trouble reaches you .

Repair when damaged. Your multi-tool repairs broken pipes, plates, and circuit boxes around the trampler, including the legs that keep you mobile .

Respawn and Health Management

Stock the fridge with food. If you die, you respawn in your captain's quarters—fast if you stocked the fridge (with food placed specifically in the fridge of that room), slower (around a minute) if you didn't .

Food also heals. A can of food patches up a chunk of your health bar in a pinch .

What to Loot

Loot color tells quality: brown is common, green is a step up, and red is the good stuff—rare weapons, tools, and utility parts. Check the small drawing on top: cogwheel for utility, weapon, or cannon, so you can grab what you need .

Cabinets tend to hold medical items. Safes hold valuables and coins . Locked doors and broken rooms can be blown open with grenades or time bombs .

Always extract mechanical parts. These orange scrap-metal bits let you rebuild a basic trampler cheaply after a bad run. If you lose everything else, a stash of these keeps you in the game .

Black boxes come off wrecked reactors—every trampler destroyed leaves one behind. They sell well and feed your progression . The radio beacon box is the real prize: if you spot a green box icon on the map, that's a player carrying one. Extracting with it pays out handsomely .

Where to Loot

Hit small points of interest early. The lone wrecks and boats with light PvE expose you less and the haul adds up quickly .

Avoid big named POIs early. They're magnets for better-equipped squads. If you need a specific rare item, let others clear it and fight them for it, rather than becoming the target yourself .

Dig buried bones. Keep an eye out for scattered bones off the main routes. Some mark a sand pile you can dig up with a shovel for hidden treasure .

The Workbench

Get a workbench onto your trampler as early as possible. It lets you craft ammo and upgraded gear mid-run, turning raw loot into exactly what you need on the spot .

Extraction—The Two-Step Process

Extraction has a catch that trips up nearly everyone. To call it, drive into one of the evacuation circles marked on your map, climb the tower, and hold F on the radio. Only one trampler can use a given extraction point at a time, so make sure the coast is clear—losing your haul at the last second is devastating, and far worse than needing to look for SAND: Raiders of Sophie Crown for sale elsewhere. For those who want to supplement their efforts, MMOEXP is worth considering, though nothing beats the satisfaction of earning your extraction the right way.

Your ship and your character extract separately:

Your racked loot leaves with the ship

You must physically get off the trampler and grab the rope to extract yourself

Plenty of players watch their gear vanish because they stayed on deck. Get off, take the rope, and you're home with everything you earned .
