Season 14’s Ultimate Pit Push Tier List: The Class You’re Playing Is Probably Wrong!

Diablo4 Jun-08-2026 PST

Warlock dead last at Pit 120? Rogue secretly dominating at 150? And why is everyone sleeping on Barbarian’s comeback? Before you commit to a class, many players first buy Diablo 4 Gold or look for cheap Diablo IV Items to gear up efficiently—because nothing ruins a meta shift like being resource-poor. Season 14’s meta has flipped—lightning builds are gutted, thorns paladins are surprisingly viable, and a bugged Death Trap might ruin the leaderboards. Which class should you actually invest time in? We’ve ranked all eight from worst to best based on pure Pit clear speed. Spoiler: your favorite build might need a serious rethink.

The Bottom Feeder: Warlock (Pit 120)

Why it’s struggling: The brand-new class somehow sits dead last.

· Best build: Fallen Lunatic (with Apocalypse as a solid alternative)

· What changed: Numerical buffs only—Pain Gorge increased from 125→163

· No new toys: No groundbreaking uniques or aspects for any class this season

· Verdict: Play only if you love the class fantasy. Don’t expect leaderboard glory.

Necromancer (Pit 122) – Two Builds, One Big Problem

Blood Wave and Golem are trading spots on PTR.

· Golem is technically #1 right now

· Blood Wave is potent but has a massive warning: Without Glenn’s Anvil next season, you will feel incredibly squishy

· The upside: Both builds have been strong for multiple seasons. Just prepare for fragility if you choose Blood Wave.

Spiritborn (Pit 120-125) – Flexible but Forgettable

Three builds worth knowing: Rock Splitter (current rank one), Counter Swarm, and freeze variants.

· Secret power: Generic Jaguar multipliers let you play almost anything

· The catch: Freeze enables higher pits but kills speed-farming fun

· Bottom line: Same tier as Warlock and Necro. Great for tinkerers, not for pushers.

Paladin (Pit 126) – Thorns Are Back, Baby!

The big news: Clash got omega-nerfed (no more resolve stacking with Glenn’s Anvil). But…

· Shield of Retribution (thorns): Incredible for leveling, slow for endgame

· Orian: The ultimate “walking simulator” chill build

· Charge Paladin: Buffed since Season 12—better clear speed with minimal gear swaps

· Pro tip: Scale thorns, swap between Retribution (leveling) and Charge (endgame) without rebuilding your entire gear set.

Sorceress (Pit 132) – RIP Ball Lightning

Lightning builds are wrecked. That huge bonus? Gone. Only Crackling Energy still works.

· New king: Firewall (Ring of Fire) – a DOT-based pusher

· Survivability buff: Rhyme mythic gives 65% damage reduction. Stack with HP-based DR aspects.

· What you lose: Speed. Ball Lightning was lightning-fast; Firewall is methodical.

· Warning to fans: Old T12 lightning builds still clear T12—but if you’re pushing pits, you’re playing Firewall.

Druid (Pit 135) – Lightning Shred & Tornado Dominate

The playstyle: Gather enemies → freeze them → trigger massive explosions.

· Hot combo: Azeroth + Signate = pack-clearing pops

· New tech: 30% bonus multiplier when you freeze enemies (now in almost every build)

· Also viable: Poison variants, though lightning scales better

· Verdict: Solid mid-tier. Nothing broken, nothing terrible.

Barbarian (Pit 140) – Immortal No More, Still Deadly

Whirlwind is back with triple shrouds, Wrath of the Berserker, and Iron Skin.

· Biggest buff: Grandfather now gives 34% crit strike chance

· Seelig lives: You can still run it, but casual players will feel rough—no more immortality

· What’s nerfed: Endurance Faith (big damage calc change), overall tankiness

· Other options: Charge Barbarian, Ancients (companion) Barbarian, even a red DOT build

· Reality check: The rank one build requires perfect gear. Expect a higher barrier to entry.

Rogue (Pit 150) – Bugged or Blessed?

The top spot comes with an asterisk: Death Trap is currently bugged.

· Legitimate builds: Pen Shot (132 clear, tied with Sorc), Eagle Horn, Shadows of Twisting Blades (buffed!)

· If the bug survives to live servers: Rogue stays #1

· If fixed: Still competitive at ~132-135

· Missing feature alert: No replay system means we can’t verify if clears are legit. Blizzard, please add replays.

What’s This Guide For?

Suitable for:

· Pit pushers chasing leaderboard ranks

· Players who want one main class per season

· Veterans confused by PTR changes

· Anyone who hates wasting time on dead-end builds

Value you get:

· Clear tier rankings (no fluff)

· Build names you can actually search

· Honest warnings about nerfs and bugs

· Speed vs. push trade-offs explained

Helpful Tips for Season 14

1. Don’t lock in early. PTR changes weekly—that 150 Rogue clear might vanish.

2. Mythics are everywhere now. Rhyme (65% DR) is a must-read for Sorc players.

3. Freeze is the new meta. Almost every top build uses it for pit pushing.

4. Speed farming ≠ pit pushing. Spiritborn freeze builds push high but feel terrible for farming.

5. Watch the leaderboard resets. Multiple high clears got wiped during PTR testing.
