The first important date is September 17, when the current Golden Pursuit ends. Players who participate between August 20 and September 17 can earn up to 20 free Crown Crates by completing relatively simple activities such as daily writs, Delve bosses, Dark Anchors, and World Bosses.
The biggest date is September 28, when Update 51 is scheduled to launch. The update will introduce several major systems and balance changes, while the High Seas of Tamriel event begins on September 30 and runs until October 14.
ESO Update 51: Major Gameplay Changes
Update 51 is expected to create a significant meta shift because of its extensive hybridization changes. Bethesda is working to reduce redundant Major and Minor buffs while making abilities and bonuses more useful across different combat styles.
For example, Brutality will provide both Weapon and Spell Damage, replacing Sorcery, while Savagery will provide both Weapon and Spell Critical, replacing Prophecy. A new effect called Vexation will also be introduced, reducing healing received.
Alchemy is receiving significant changes as well. Several ingredients and potion effects are being adjusted, while new ingredients and effects will create additional options for players. The Vault contains three districts, with each run offering randomized challenges. Players can explore the Vault alone or with a group, although the content is balanced around solo play.
Access requires Wondrous Nowhere Keys, which can be obtained from activities across Tamriel, including Thieves Troves, Delve and World Bosses, treasure chests, Heists, Rumors, dynamic encounters, and solo dungeons.
Rewards could make the system particularly attractive. Players may receive overland gear, valuable crafting materials, tradable Antiquity Leads, and even pieces from Trial sets. High Seas of Tamriel Event
From September 30 through October 14, players can participate in the new High Seas of Tamriel event.
The event introduces ship-to-ship combat, underwater exploration, sunken treasures, enemies, bosses, and event-themed rewards. Players will begin the event through a starter quest available from the Crown Store or an NPC on the Gold Coast.
During the activity, players must fight enemy ships, repair damage to their own vessel, retrieve underwater loot, and explore the surrounding ocean. The underwater areas contain enemies, bosses, points of interest, and treasure chests.
The daily quest can be completed once per day per character, making multiple characters especially useful for players who want to maximize event rewards.
One of the most exciting features is the introduction of tradable Antiquity Leads. These leads can be traded or sold to other players, creating a potentially profitable new market. Some Antiquity Leads will also provide furnishing recipes that can be crafted repeatedly after successful excavation.
New Solo Dungeons
Update 51 will also add new solo versions of March of Sacrifices and Moon Hunter Keep. Players can experience these dungeons at their own pace, with or without an NPC companion.
