Summary

Hello everyone, Don the Crown here! As you can see, the damage has gone up quite a bit since yesterday—we went from about 60 billion on the training dummy to roughly 300 billion. And I haven't even spent half the currency I made. Today, we're breaking down the key upgrades that pushed this build to the next level, including some surprisingly cheap options and the all-important slate crafting system. If you're looking to replicate this jump without farming for weeks, you can buy Torchlight: Infinite Flame Elementium to fuel your own slate rolls and gear upgrades. Let's dive into the exact steps.

Understanding Terra Charge Mechanics

One of the first things I want to correct from my previous video: I made a mistake with how much Terra Charge Restoration we actually need. You basically only need two 100% rolls for every additional Terra charge. When I was making my spreadsheet during the first stream, I accidentally clicked the wrong cell and thought we had one more Terra charge than we actually did the entire time.

You can check your Terra charge recovery in Crimson Cash—I'm currently sitting at around 256, which is slightly more than what I need for three Terra charges. There are also stats that can help us get even more value from this system.

The Slate System & Crafting

Persistent Skill Level & Cooldown Slate

I obtained my Terra charge recovery from a slate with persistent skill level and cooldown reduction. Having these on the bottom slot isn't ideal because it prevents us from using a Moth or Prairie against it, but it gives us two additional charges of our skills. This means:

More movement skills to get around

More consistent energy shield recharge

Everything fires off more frequently

Nether King's Authority Judgment

One major upgrade was buying the Nether King's Authority Judgment—the non-broken version. This gives us three spots, but it's a pain to craft. The base alone was around 1,600 FE, and I ended up spending over 2,000 FE because each slot is extremely random.

Crafting Process:

You need to put in five of the top-end materials (about 30 FE each)

That's roughly 150 crafting potential per attempt

It randomly picks one of the slots

You're at the mercy of RNG

The Debuff Problem

I got unlucky and hit the middle slot, which applies a debuff that reflects ailments back to you. This meant I had 110% frostbite and freeze application, effectively doubling or tripling the cold damage I was taking. This was a non-starter—I had to re-craft.

Fortunately, on the re-craft, it removed that node immediately. Most of the nodes here are bad except for additional damage applied to life, which I'd consider only okay. Crafting these up is going to be a big process in the endgame, though I'm not 100% sold that this is what we'll use long-term.

The Power of Judgment Boost

These slates boost Judgment by 70% for all slates in that line. This turns things like +1 skill level into +2, which effectively doubled my damage by itself. I also made a new slate with additional curse damage, accumulate ill omen, and persistent skill level.

I'm currently running a spark that gives +1 persistent skill level—that's about 8% more damage from a single node. I'm still using the same pedigree, but I really should replace one slate to get something better.

The Long-Term Slate Plan

I'm considering whether to go for a "long boy" approach—trying to get a corner slot and fit a Prairie in the middle somehow. We'll figure that out as we go.

Cheap Upgrades: Blade Dancer Steps

One incredibly cheap upgrade you can grab right now is Blade Dancer Steps. These boots are very affordable—even with high additional damage rolls, they're still cheap.

What they do:

Movement speed when you use a mobility skill

Additional damage when you use a mobility skill

If you can generate Agility Blessings, you can reset the cooldown

How to generate Agility Blessings:
Get a slate with chance to gain Agility Blessing on critical strike. Since our storm from Ice Focus is always critting and our Blizzard always crits, we can generate tons of these. With 60% crit chance, you'll reset movement skills constantly.

Weapon Upgrades

I grabbed a second Priceless Scepter, trying to put Outlaw and Sequence on it. It didn't work out just yet, but I currently have +2 spell skill level on it. I think this is probably better than the penetration on my other weapon since we'll likely have penetration on both rings.

Important Skill Level Math:

After level 20, base damage doesn't go up

But you get 10% additional damage which multiplies

At level 31 or higher, each level gives 8%

I'm currently at level 31, getting 8% per level

Support Gem Optimizations

Ice Bond Upgrades

I added better supports to Ice Bond:

Mass Effect – gives more charges

Well Thought Battle – gives more effect per charge

These two changes gave me several billion DPS because they work perfectly with the cooldown and charge slate. Speed Phantom gives a buff that adds additional damage, though it only lasts 1.2 seconds—not build-defining, but worth squeezing in.

Blizzard Changes

I slapped Blind on Blizzard—only 10% chance, but blinding is very strong against bosses and could save your bacon in tough fights.

Currency Farming Strategy

Here's what my farming progression looked like:

Started with compasses for a few hours—got a huge amount early

Dropped down to about 500 FE per hour doing raw league mechanic in Profane

Switched to Arcana and maintained 500 FE per hour

Got lucky with a pair of Sun Slashes at the very end

I'm currently sitting on about 10,000 FE and figuring out where to go next.

Considering Future Upgrades

Dawn Break Belt

People keep asking about Dawn Break on a belt—it gives more critical strike chance, more damage, and more main stats. I'm a little worried about running out of energy shield though—I'm down about 7,000 right now. I'm considering replacing my boots with Lone Walkers or going for aura stacking.

Rofl's Gloves

These are basically a one-line pair of gloves and cost quite a bit. I don't think they're particularly good, and I wouldn't want a Vorax for just one line. Probably not something we're interested in.

Hero Memory

I could slap a Nightfall on them soon—they're starting to get cheaper. I don't love the 50/50 chance, but sometimes you've got to take risks in crafting.

Defensive Strategies

Block Stacking

To get more tanky, I'm considering:

Stacking spell block and attack block

Dropping some bottom stats (like spell damage) for block

Trying to cap block as much as possible

The Iron Wall Destiny

There's a destiny called Iron Wall that:

Gives -30 attack block chance for two kismets

Gives 30% block ratio when dual wielding

Since we are dual wielding, we currently see 30% attack block and 10% attack speed on our stat sheet.

How Block Ratio Works:

You can block with or without a shield

Your block chance can go all the way up to 100%

Your block ratio determines how much damage you block

The base limit is 60%—with the right kismets, you block 60% of all incoming hits

That's massive damage reduction—you're only taking 40% damage

There are ways to push this to 80% with expensive chests

The Vorax Chest Option

The only true good way to get higher block ratio for our character would be a very expensive chest as a Vorax. This would give:

Block ratio

Upper block ratio

Additional damage over time reduction from block ratio

Additional damage for you and your minions from block and spell block chance

The downside is the price—this only comes from Creation Engine Profane time market and above, which is hard to farm for most people at this point in the season.

Final Thoughts

Profane has been pretty decent as long as you're not trying to crank all the mods. I've mostly been running League Mechanic with just the Saint's Stone—most of the other mods aren't worth the increased difficulty compared to the rewards. If you're looking to stock up on crafting materials without the grind, you can find Torchlight: Infinite Flame Elementium for sale through trusted platforms like MMOEXP to keep your upgrades rolling smoothly. I hope they change some of the League Mechanic stuff, and I'll be doing a separate video on my thoughts about it.
