New Class: Druid

The flagship addition — the Druid — joins as a new playable class in 0.4.0.

Druid is a Strength/Intelligence hybrid, bridging melee and spell-based playstyles; this opens up build diversity not previously possible.

It brings a full suite of new content: 20+ new skills, 35+ support gems, 250+ passive-tree nodes, and a brand new weapon category: Talismans (the Druid’s signature weapon type).

Druid adds shapeshifting via forms (e.g. bear form). Casting a form-specific skill transforms your character; casting spells returns to human form.

The class supports both melee-heavy tank/aoe builds (bear/slams, etc.) and spell-caster / hybrid builds — offering flexibility not just for one archetype but multiple playstyles.

Added the new Oracle and Shaman Ascendancy Classes for the Druid.

New League & End-game Systems

0.4.0 introduces a brand-new league: The Fate of the Vaal. This brings a modular “temple-building” dungeon system: you discover Vaal devices in the world, sacrifice monsters to power them, then build/upgrade rooms in lost Vaal temples — exploring randomized dungeons with loot, bosses, and unique rewards.

These temple runs include strategic choices: which rooms to place affects enemy strength, loot potential, crafting bonuses, corruption options, etc. At deeper runs, you might get powerful but risky rewards (e.g. double-corruption).

The update also integrates previous mechanics (like Abyss) more deeply: the Abyss becomes a core “Atlas passive” mechanic, meaning its features are more reliably part of the endgame structure rather than sporadic.

There are also major overhauls: skills, supports, and the passive-tree have been reworked to support the new class and systems.

New Ascendancy

In The Last of the Druids content update, the third, also the last Ascendancy class for the Sorceress will be added as well. Let's welcome the Disciple of Varashta!
