The pre-download phase is currently active across both PC platforms: Steam and the proprietary PURPLE launcher.

The preload client can be downloaded ahead of time, allowing players to prepare for launch without waiting for the full installation process after the servers open. Players preparing to earn Aion 2 Kina and build up their early-game resources should also complete the download before Advanced Access begins.
Critical Steam Guide: Uninstall the Playtest App First
If you participated in the recent AION 2 Launch Scale Test or other Steam testing phases, you should manually uninstall the old AION 2 Playtest application before downloading the final game client.
The Playtest application is separate from the final AION 2 release, so Steam players should remove it and then install the dedicated launch client. To ensure you are using the correct version:

For players targeting smoother performance, an SSD is strongly recommended. The minimum configuration is intended for lower graphical settings, while the recommended configuration provides a better starting point for the game's FHD Low preset.
Monetization & Anti-Bot Restrictions Confirmed
As players prepare for the global launch, AION 2 will remain a Free-to-Play MMORPG with an optional Membership priced at $15 per month. Membership provides additional economy and convenience features, including access to Personal Trading, Market-related functions, storage benefits, and other gameplay conveniences.
To combat automated farming and bot activity, direct player-to-player trades are disabled in the global service, while the Market remains a central hub for trading between players. Membership also provides access to Personal Trading and other economy-related features, so players should carefully check the current in-game trading rules and available features after launch.
