Abyssal Forge: Ludra is a ten-player Sanctuary, AION 2's term for raid content. This high-end PvE challenge divides responsibilities between two parties before bringing everyone together to face a dragon. It opens to Global players on November 4, 2026, with Normal requiring 2,800 item level and Hard requiring 3,000. For players approaching those thresholds, it offers a new group objective beyond their regular Expedition runs.

The rewards worth watching include extendable weapons, which add attack reach, alongside other equipment opportunities and limited-time clear titles. The returning raid's complete Normal and Hard loot tables still need confirmation.

Ludra briefly appeared during Early Access before being withdrawn for a rework. November's release brings adjusted mechanics, so the encounter examples below explain its established combat features and the skills to prepare, with exact solutions awaiting the new version.

AION 2 Ludra Raid Preview: Boss Encounters, Mechanics, Loot and Requirements

What Makes Ludra Different?

AION 2's Ludra expands the familiar five-player Expedition format into a raid where two parties share the workload. The larger roster spreads jobs across different objectives, giving each party responsibilities it needs to handle independently. During the reactor opening, some players handle auxiliary devices while others manage the central encounter. The middle section divides responsibilities around Rahu and Ketu. The final boss then tests the whole group's ability to move, identify personal effects and complete shared mechanics under pressure.

For someone used to five-player Expeditions, the additional coordination is the main adjustment. One strong party cannot cover every task if the other lacks healing or leaves an objective unattended. Both halves need players who understand their assignments, plus a way to communicate when something changes.

There are several reasons to participate. Equipment-focused players can investigate Ludra's weapon properties and accessory rewards. Players who enjoy coordinated PvE get a multi-encounter raid to learn with a regular group. A Normal clear during the Ludra Hunt also qualifies for the universal event title, giving first-time raiders a goal without entering the regional Hard-mode race.

Difficulty release

Both modes available immediately

These are AION 2 entry requirements, not guaranteed clear standards. Your actual damage, healing and ability to keep doing your job while avoiding attacks still matter. A character reaching 2,800 can plan for Normal, but the group will need to learn the encounter together.

Hard is available immediately for qualifying players. Reaching 3,000 makes it an option; whether to start there depends on the team's readiness and goals. The announcement does not provide the full differences between Normal and Hard boss mechanics.

Check every member's item level before spending AION 2 Kina on upgrades or choosing the group's planned difficulty. If several members are approaching 2,800, preparing a Normal group gives them a clear first target. A team chasing ranked Hard clears has a different preparation schedule and needs every member to meet the higher entry level.

Plan Your Next Step

Start with your current AION 2 item level and choose the next reachable objective. The table below is entry planning, not a prediction of the combat strength needed to clear.

Current Item Level

Next Step

Below 2,600

Continue equipment and character progression through content you can already enter; work toward Hard Expedition access

2,600 to 2,799

Consider Krao Cave and Draupnir Hard, their Ariel Fragments and other available growth resources; target 2,800 for Normal

2,800 to 2,999

You meet Normal's item-level requirement; organize a group and prepare mechanic assignments

3,000 or higher

You meet Hard's item-level requirement; assess the team's damage, healing and coordination before choosing it

Four Encounters to Understand

These are mechanics to recognize, not confirmed solutions for the reworked raid. NC has confirmed new and adjusted mechanics for the return; exact timings, target counts and platform duties need checking when the raid opens.

The established AION 2 route starts with the Central Abyss Fusion Reactor, divides the raid's responsibilities around Rahu and Ketu, and reunites everyone against Eternal Ludra. Think of the encounters as different tests of group coordination:

Encounter

Main Combat Feature

Central Abyss Fusion Reactor

Dividing players between objectives

Isolation Specialist Rahu

Passing effects and protecting safe space

Abyssal Wings Ketu

Responding to environmental hazards

Eternal Ludra

Combining personal assignments with raid-wide puzzles

Central Abyss Fusion Reactor

The opening encounter asks the raid to manage several problems at once. A central reactor is the main target, enemies keep appearing, and circular or cross-shaped attacks make standing still unsafe. Auxiliary reactors protect the central objective, so leaving them active slows progress.

Some players travel to those supporting devices using air platforms or updrafts. The remaining players keep enemies under control and continue the main encounter. That division gives the opening a different rhythm from a fight where everyone follows one target around a room.

The preparation task is straightforward: identify players comfortable handling movement objectives and give them backups. The rest of the raid should know who is staying with the central objective and who will deal with incoming enemies. Once inside, read the objective prompts before committing the entire group to damage.

Isolation Specialist Rahu

Rahu combines a timed player effect with attacks that restrict where the party can stand. In the earlier encounter, a marked player passes an effect to a nearby teammate when its timer expires. A failed handoff leaves a damaging pool, taking away room the party may need later.

Other patterns create a narrow safe area while a targeted line attack follows one player. The marked player has to keep that attack away from teammates while preserving a route back to safety. Summoned enemies also become part of the encounter's hazard management.

For a first-time raider, Rahu introduces an important habit: notice what your marker means for everyone around you. Moving toward the nearest teammate can help with one mechanic and endanger them during another. Agree on a caller and a recognizable meeting location, then use the live effect descriptions and warnings to establish the required response.

Abyssal Wings Ketu

Ketu's established fight is more focused on rapidly changing environmental cues. Moving laser walls, spirits, falling orbs and eye markers compete for attention. Soul-stone mechanics provide temporary protection during dangerous sequences.

The challenge is keeping track of your current job as the next hazard appears. A player dealing with spirits still needs to notice an eye cue. A healer concentrating on health bars needs warning when the party must move or use protection. Good calls help players change tasks without losing track of the room.

Prepare by deciding who will call environmental changes and how the party will cover spread-out targets. Ranged coverage and dependable healing are useful functions to consider when forming the group. The new version's mechanics will determine the exact assignments; no specific class should be treated as a confirmed entry requirement.

Eternal Ludra

Eternal Ludra brings the parties together for the final dragon fight. Its established encounter mixes familiar attacks, including frontal breath and sweeping strikes, with mechanics that give individual players different responsibilities.

Boss facing is an early example. A breath directed across the group can disrupt several assignments at once, while ground attacks force players to keep moving. Jumpable rings add a different kind of reaction from simply stepping out of a warning area.

AION 2 Eternal Ludra tile puzzle mechanic

The colored orbs are among Ludra's most recognizable features. Earlier encounters use blue orbs that players intercept by jumping, while red orbs require an appropriate defensive response such as a block or invulnerability. Overlapping tornadoes and targeted attacks make reaching the assigned orb part of the challenge.

Another sequence turns the floor into a search puzzle. Players reveal tiles to find a safe square before a lethal attack resolves. The group benefits from covering different areas and calling the safe location quickly. Searching the same tiles wastes time that another player could spend checking somewhere else.

Later patterns reduce the available space and give players red or blue effects. In the earlier fight, opposite colors create damaging links when brought together. Players must maintain separation while continuing to respond to attacks, making personal awareness part of the raid's survival.

For your first attempts, prepare clear location calls and a way to assign jobs quickly. The exact orb counts, search pattern and color formations will depend on November's encounter. If the group fails a mechanic, compare the markers, positions and responses before the next pull so everyone understands what needs changing.

Loot Worth Watching

Extendable Weapons and Equipment

Extendable weapons are one of the most distinctive reasons to watch AION 2's Ludra rewards. They increase attack reach, potentially giving a character more room to keep attacking while maintaining distance. For players interested in how a weapon changes combat positioning, that property deserves attention alongside its stats.

Earlier Global equipment information shows a Ludra weapon with the extendable property and another weapon option with different Soulbind effects, the equipment bonuses associated with Soul Binding. These offer different reasons to inspect a drop: reach affects positioning, while attributes and effects influence the weapon's suitability for your build.

When comparing a potential drop, inspect its base attributes, extendable property and Soulbind effects against your current weapon before investing more AION 2 Kinah in upgrades. A higher item level is useful information, but it cannot explain every difference between the two items.

Earlier Global records also list guards, Abyssal bracelets and enhancement materials. The bracelet slot gives players another equipment category to investigate even when a weapon replacement is not their immediate priority.

The complete reworked loot table and Normal-versus-Hard allocation remain unconfirmed. Treat those equipment records as rewards to look for when the raid opens, then check the actual reward panel before choosing a difficulty for a particular item. Weekly reward eligibility, membership benefits and ticket consumption also need confirmation before planning repeated clears.

Ludra Hunt Clear Titles

The Ludra Hunt gives first-time players a reward goal they can understand before the loot table is finalized. Complete Normal or Hard during the event to qualify for Ludra Hunter. You do not need a ranked Hard clear for that title.

For competitive groups, the first Hard party in each participating region earns Conqueror of Ludra. Parties second through fifth receive Champion of Ludra, and sixth through twentieth receive Challenger of Ludra. Those ranked title tiers have a purple decorative effect.

The event runs from November 4 after maintenance until November 24 before maintenance in PST, corresponding to November 25 before maintenance in CET. This gives a group pursuing Ludra Hunter time to prepare beyond opening day. Set the first clear as your goal if you are still approaching the Normal requirement.

Preparing for Your First Ludra Run

Set Your Item-Level Target

At 2,650 item level in AION 2, for example, you need another 150 for Normal. Krao Cave and Draupnir Hard are already accessible at your entry level. Their Ariel Fragments support the Ariel Daevanion board, a character-growth system. Review that route alongside Arcana, cards that contribute to character progression, and your existing equipment improvements.

Before committing AION 2 Kinah or other resources, identify which of those systems has an attainable upgrade for your character. Hard Expedition access gives you another progression route; it does not guarantee that one source will cover the whole gap to Ludra.

Claim Energy and Organize Both Parties

Odyle Energy is a resource used to claim dungeon reward cubes. The Odyle Energy Boost starts after maintenance on October 28. Log in daily, open your in-game mail and claim the two Odyle Energy items delivered per character. Mail expires seven days after receipt. The event ends before maintenance on November 10 PST or November 11 CET.

Use those resources on eligible content that addresses your next upgrade goal. The boost begins before Ludra opens, so it can support preparation while you work toward an entry threshold.

Once your group is forming, confirm a healer and suitable support coverage for each five-player party. Name callers for movement and personal markers, and choose backups for objective runners. On opening day, check the raid's entry and reward panels, then read the encounter prompts together before assigning exact positions. Those preparations give a new group a useful starting point for learning Ludra's reworked fights.
