How the Mysterious Dog Quest Works
The Mysterious Dog appears once in each of seven major zones. After finding her, look for the teal Dragon Toy nearby, pick it up, and return it to her bed. Chowrap advertisements are useful visual clues because they often point toward the toy.
Once all seven encounters are complete, make a final visit to The Gap to finish the side story and unlock the Dog's Best Friend trophy/achievement.
All Dog & Toy Locations
Downtown
The first dog is on a rooftop near the southern edge of Downtown, along the road leading away from the Oldest House. The Dragon Toy is on the nearby rooftop across the street, close to a stairwell door and Chowrap advertisement.
Central
Find the dog on a rooftop north of East Park Station. The toy is at ground level at the far end of a laser-filled alley. Be careful when navigating through the barriers.
Evacuation Zone
The dog sits on a red-lit rooftop near the Sinkhole. Its toy is on a nearby inverted rooftop. Gravity-based traversal abilities are important here, while Reach can make the route easier.
West Incursion Zone
Look for the dog on a shifted rooftop near the Parking Garage. The toy is close by on an air-conditioning unit beside a Chowrap billboard. Gravity traversal or Shift makes this encounter much easier.
The Park
The Mysterious Dog is on a rooftop near the northeastern edge of The Park. Her toy can be found on a desk on the higher rooftop to the east. You need to activate the exterior elevator using a Power Core to reach it.
Underpass
Find the dog high on a structure northeast of the Research Site. The Dragon Toy is located on the gravity-anomaly ceiling directly above her, making traversal the main challenge.
Unknown
The final regional encounter is on a garden rooftop on Tower Island. The toy is on the nearby building's balcony beneath a downward-facing BAR sign. Reach and gravity abilities are recommended for this longer route.
Final Reward
After returning all seven toys, head to The Gap and interact with the Mysterious Dog one final time. Completing the entire chain awards the Dog's Best Friend trophy/achievement and provides the quest's final reward.
Tip: You don't need to rush through all seven encounters. Some locations become significantly easier after unlocking additional traversal abilities, so revisiting difficult areas later can save time.
