Patch Release Schedule

PC: July 16, 2026

Consoles: July 17, 2026

Cross-play: Disabled until consoles receive the patch

Major Changes Overview

Crafted Mythic Equip Limit Removed

The most significant change: you are no longer restricted to equipping only one crafted Mythic Unique. This restriction has been entirely lifted for the remainder of Season 14.

What this means for you:

You can now equip multiple crafted Mythics simultaneously

All the Mythics you've been holding onto can finally be used

Builds that required multiple specific Mythics are now viable

You can craft a full set of Mythics for your character without artificial limits

Developer's note: This is a seasonal experiment. In Season 15, the Horadric Cube will receive a direct Mythic upgrade system that preserves the original Unique item. The one-crafted limit may return specifically for that crafting path only.

Increased Drop Rates from Corrupted Reaper

The Corrupted Reaper boss (the new seasonal lair boss) now has officially increased drop rates for both:

Standard Mythic Uniques

Iconic Mythic Uniques

This makes the Reaper the single best source for Mythic hunting in the current season. If you've been farming other bosses, it's time to shift your focus.

Cube Bug Fixed

The ability to apply the Mythic modifier to Unique Charms and Seals in the Horadric Cube has been removed. This was an unintended bug from a previous patch, not a legitimate Season 14 feature. Any Charms or Seals that received this modifier will no longer function as intended.

What's Coming Next Week

Blizzard has announced additional improvements arriving in a follow-up patch:

Superior Lair Keys will be added to the Glints of Hope repeatable cache, giving you a consistent source of keys for the Reaper without relying solely on Death Toll Chambers

Mythic Tribute drop rates in the Undercity will be increased, making this alternative farming method more rewarding

These changes will further improve your ability to farm Mythics consistently across multiple activities.

Updated Farming Strategy

With the patch changes, here's your optimized route for acquiring Mythics:

Step 1: Farm Helltides for Reputation

Start by farming Helltides to earn Glints of Hope and progress the reputation board. Focus on closing Ruptures and killing as many monsters as possible. The more efficient your Helltide farming, the faster you'll progress.

Why this matters: Reputation caches contain Pandemonium Fragments, which are essential for cube crafting. Every cache you open brings you closer to your next crafted Mythic.

Step 2: Farm Death Toll Chambers for Superior Lair Keys

Superior Lair Keys are used to open the Corrupted Reaper's chest. The best source is Death Toll Chambers.

How to access Death Toll Chambers:

Find a Rupture in a Nightmare Dungeon (look for the blue affix on the sigil). Close 15 Tears inside the Rupture. Once you hit 15, a portal to the Death Toll Chamber opens automatically. Enter and defeat the boss for your key rewards.

Optimization tip: In a party, stack everyone in the same Tears. More players in a tear makes it close faster. You can reach 15 Tears quickly and move on to the next dungeon. You don't need to complete the Nightmare Dungeon itself after closing the Tears.

Coming next week: Superior Lair Keys will also drop from the Glints of Hope repeatable cache, giving you another reliable source.

Step 3: Farm the Corrupted Reaper

Located in Zarbinzet at the Pandemonium Threshold, this boss is unlocked after completing the seasonal quest line. Most players have already done this, but if you haven't, make it a priority.

With the increased drop rates, this is your primary Mythic source:

Spend Superior Lair Keys to open the chest after defeating her

Each kill guarantees one Pandemonium Fragment

Highest Mythic drop rate of any boss in the game

Don't waste your Superior Keys on other bosses. The Reaper is the best use of your resources.

Step 4: Use the Horadric Cube

With your Pandemonium Fragments, use the cube recipe. You need any Unique item (Item Power 850 or higher—it doesn't need to be Ancestral or have any Greater Affixes) and 5 Pandemonium Fragments.

Critical warning: This destroys your Unique item and gives you a random Mythic of the same item slot. The result is NOT the same Unique upgraded—it's a completely random Mythic.

Only sacrifice Uniques you would never use. Many players have accidentally destroyed valuable gear by misreading the recipe. If an item has good affixes, keep it. Use your junk Uniques for this recipe.

Developer's note for Season 15: The cube system is being reworked to preserve the original Unique item when upgrading to Mythic, so this destructive recipe won't exist in its current form next season.

Step 5: Salvage and Craft

Salvage any Mythics you don't need for Resplendent Sparks. Every Mythic you break down gives you one Spark. Use Sparks at the Blacksmith to craft Iconic Mythics like Harlequin Crest, Tyrael's Might, or Andariel's Visage. The cost is 2 Resplendent Sparks and 50 million Gold.

Undercity Mythic Tributes (Coming Next Week)

Mythic Tribute drop rates in the Undercity are being increased in next week's patch. This makes the Undercity a more viable alternative for Mythic hunting.

Optimization before running:

Ensure the "Gutter Filth" node is unlocked in your Paragon board. Activate all beacons on every level—this gives you a chance to spawn Portal Pranksters. Each Prankster adds an extra reward chest at the end of the run. Even after you've maxed out attunement, keep clicking beacons to check for Prankster spawns.

Always run in a full party rotation. One key benefits four players when you take turns hosting.

Amalgamation recipe: Combine 5 Lesser Tributes of Armaments to get 1 Greater Tribute. Combine 5 Greater Tributes to get 1 Mythic Tribute. Never waste a Tribute of Armament—always save and upgrade them.

Jeweler Crafting: Slot-Targeted Mythics

The Jeweler offers targeted Mythic crafting, though it's more expensive than the cube. The cost is 3 Resplendent Sparks and 18 specific Runes (the rune requirements vary by item slot).

This method is useful when you need a specific item type and have extra Sparks but not enough Fragments. However, for most players, the cube and Blacksmith routes are more efficient.

Rune acquisition: Specific runes can be crafted in the cube through amalgamation. This upgrades runes to the next tier guaranteed, helping you get the exact runes you need for Jeweler crafting.

Farming Priority Summary

Start with Helltides to build reputation and collect Pandemonium Fragments from caches. From there, farm Nightmare Dungeon Ruptures to access Death Toll Chambers and collect Superior Lair Keys. Take those keys to the Corrupted Reaper for the best Mythic drop chances. Use the Pandemonium Fragments from Reaper kills for cube crafting. Finally, salvage unwanted Mythics for Sparks and craft Iconic Mythics at the Blacksmith.

What to Expect in Season 15

Blizzard has confirmed the following changes are coming in Season 15:

The Horadric Cube will remove Mythic reroll crafting entirely

A direct upgrade to Mythic will be added that preserves the original Unique item

The one-crafted limit may return specifically for this new crafting path

The current system is being treated as a seasonal experiment. The developers are collecting player feedback to determine the future of Mythic acquisition. Your voice matters in shaping how these systems evolve.

Closing Thoughts

Patch 3.1.1a addresses the biggest community pain points—removing the crafted Mythic equip limit, boosting drop rates from the Corrupted Reaper, and fixing Charm and Seal interactions—while next week's patch adds Superior Lair Keys to repeatable caches and increases Undercity Mythic Tribute rates. Blizzard is listening and adjusting as they experiment with new directions. If you need affordable gear to jump in, you can find cheap Diablo IV Items from MMOEXP and start enjoying the new Mythic freedom right away.
