Summary

Season 15 changed the loot system and how we find items and materials. Many players have asked how to get aspects efficiently, especially when just starting out in the lower Torment tiers. If you don't have much legendary loot yet, it can be a struggle to get your build online and progress to higher Torments—some players even choose to buy Diablo IV Items to speed things up. This guide covers all the main sources for getting your aspects early on, plus what to do once you reach the mid-game.

Understanding Torment Difficulty and Loot Progression

Before diving into specific methods, it helps to understand the difficulty curve this season:

Before Level 70: You won't find much of anything on the way there. You might get lucky here and there, but for the most part, you don't really have anything going for you.

Torment 1 to Torment 5: Each difficulty jump is small — only about 5 pity at a time.

After Torment 5: Each jump is 10 pity at a time. Each Torment at the start is a little more than twice as hard, and later it's almost five times as hard compared to the previous one.

Key takeaway: In the early Torments, finding just 1.5 to 2 legendary aspects is usually enough to go up a Torment. Along the way you also find higher item power loot and better multipliers on your gear (damage over time, crit multi's, vulnerable multi's). A single legendary with a bit of small stuff on the way is often enough to jump a Torment. This means you can move through the first Torments really fast and start getting more loot.

Early Season (Torment 1–5): Main Sources for Aspects

1. Lair Boss Keys

When to use: As soon as you get them in Torment 1.

Key points:

In the first Torments, bosses don't actually drop uniques almost at all. The unique drop rate starts ramping up after Torment 5 or Torment 6.

However, bosses still drop a bunch of legendaries, which is exactly what you need early on.

Use all of your keys on an easy difficulty where you can blast down the bosses in a few seconds — even if it's just Torment 2.

You'll probably get a few legendaries that help you immediately jump up to higher Torments.

Once you're in Torment 5, 6, etc., then you can move on to actually farming those uniques on bosses.

Important: Check the Maxroll boss loot table to find the right bosses for the right items. In low Torments, don't waste time chasing specific uniques.

2. The Gregoire Node

How to unlock: After doing a few bosses and getting a few points in the War Plans, you can take this first node. You need about one or two bosses to unlock it.

How it works:

Do a bit of Helltide — it's generally juicy for loot.

Open Helltide chests to get free Gregoire Knight spawns that drop Gregoire loot.

Without having keys, you can get more legendaries the same way.

On top of that, Helltide chests also grant you extra Lair Boss keys.

Why it's good: You create a cycle — do Gregoire nodes and boss runs in Helltide, and just get more and more loot. This is a really good way to get started.

3. Nightmare Dungeons and Gambling

Nightmare Dungeons:

Unlock the War Plan node for free portals as early as possible.

Nightmare dungeons are relatively juiced.

When you go through escalations and get the option to pick from portals, this is nice as well.

Gambling:

Use Pure Primordial Dust — this legendary currency.

Use it with the "Upgrade to Legendary" recipe at the Cube. All you need is a yellow item.

Even with non-ancestrals early on, this can be valuable.

Key trick: Do this on specific slots to guarantee the type of aspect you want. For example:

One-handed weapons → only offensive aspects

Gloves → offensive and utility powers

This gives you a relatively good chance to get offensive powers, which is usually what you're looking for.

Prisons:

With rings, you can use resource prisons if you're looking for a resource aspect.

Some builds want that — like Aftermath on the Rogue. This gives you a guaranteed resource aspect.

You might not have many prisons early on, but it could be helpful later on to get a specific resource aspect.

Only rings and amulets can actually do this.

4. Bothering (Mercenaries)

How to do it:

Run one mercenary as your main guy.

Rotate through the secondary mercenaries one by one until they're all level 10.

As you level them up, you get defensive aspect upgrades and extra bothering caches.

Once all are unlocked on one secondary, switch to the next.

What you get:

Most of the time you get non-ancestral items, so it's not that crazy.

But there are also caches that drop a bunch of items at once (like three items).

This can be quite useful even just to get gear early on.

Boss summoning caches for Lair Boss keys are also nice.

Then you can restock and see what else you get.

Tip: Especially early on, this is a pretty good tool to get started on your gear.

5. Crafting at the Jeweler

This season's special farm: Bale Wellstone Keep dungeon.

How it works:

Go to Bale Wellstone Keep and farm the Ancients.

Every time you kill the Ancients (takes about a minute), they drop one of each Royal gem.

That's 100k gem fragments when you salvage them.

Go to the Jeweler and craft jewelry caches — they cost 30k each.

So you get 3.33 caches per run per type. There are seven different types, so it's a lot.

All you need then is Forgotten Souls.

What you get:

Every cache drops about five items, all jewelry.

This includes a lot of rings, and rings have only offense and resource aspects.

So you can get a bunch of aspects there.

Note: There's a low-level version of this dungeon with fixed difficulty. At Torment 10, it becomes a Torment 13 capstone dungeon.

Mid-Game (Torment 6–9): Advanced Sources

1. Boss Uniques

When: Once you're in the middle Torments, you can start working on the uniques from your boss table.

How:

Check the Maxroll boss loot sheet to find the right bosses for the right items.

Use your accumulated Lair Boss keys to target-farm specific uniques.

This is the main way to complete your build's core unique items.

2. Sets

When: Usually around Torment 6 to Torment 8 or 9 — this is when you complete your five-piece set.

Sources:

Lair Boss farming

Tributes with charm and seal rewards

Primeval camps and dungeons like Durance of Hate or Bale runs in Westmarch Keep (once you're strong enough)

3. Tributes

Some tributes have charm and seal rewards — a pretty good way to get sets and specific aspects.

Once you're strong enough, do more of these primeval camps and dungeons.

Practical Tips and Reminders

Don't skip low-Torment bosses: Even if they don't drop uniques, the legendary drops are enough to push you forward quickly.

Gamble on the right slots: One-handed weapons and rings are the best for getting offensive aspects.

Unlock War Plan nodes early: Especially free portals and the Gregoire node.

Use resource prisons wisely: Rings and amulets can target-farm resource aspects.

Bale Wellstone Keep is this season's hidden gem: Gem fragments → jewelry caches → lots of rings → offense/resource aspects.

Keep leveling mercenaries: Even if you don't use them, the aspect upgrades and caches are worth it.

Follow the Maxroll boss loot sheet: Make sure you're farming the right boss at the right difficulty.

Conclusion

Season 15's aspect acquisition works differently from previous seasons, but once you understand the sources, the transition from Torment 1 to Torment 10 can be very smooth. The core idea is: early on, use every method to get legendaries (bosses, Helltide, gambling, mercenaries); mid-game, shift to target-farming uniques and sets; late-game, optimize and finish your build.

Hope this helps you get started in Season 15. For everything else, there are other guides on XP farming, mythic farming, and more for later.
