Summary: Still frustrated by clutch malfunctions during drifts and crashes right at the start of a race? The newly released 403.798 Hotfix fixes all the core pain points complained about by drifters, much to the delight of hardcore gamers.
Simultaneous Rollout Across All Platforms! This Update Focuses Solely on Drifting!
Suitable for: All drift enthusiasts and online players playing Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox, Steam, and PC.
Benefits: No more searching for fixes across different platforms. With this simultaneous update across all platforms, everyone gets a consistent optimized experience, and you no longer need to worry about version incompatibility issues when playing with friends.
Developer Playground Games, in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios, simultaneously released the Series 3 Hotfix 1 emergency patch (Version 403.798) on July 20th for Xbox Series X|S, the Windows PC Xbox app, and Steam.
This patch contains no redundant content such as new vehicles or maps; all optimizations are focused on drifting gameplay, allowing players to enjoy their favorite Forza Horizon 6 Cars with much more consistent handling and realistic drift physics.
The Clutch Kick Bug Has Been Completely Fixed! Manual Transmission Control Finally Returns to Realistic Physics
Suitable for: Core drifting players accustomed to the hardcore manual transmission + clutch operation, and driving simulator enthusiasts seeking realistic control feel.
Value gained: The previous issue of not being able to use the clutch kick to increase RPM for drifting has been completely resolved, and the instantaneous teleportation loophole using the handbrake and gear shift has also been patched. The realistic drifting logic you've practiced for hundreds of hours can finally be recreated 1:1 in the game.
In previous versions, many hardcore players reported that in manual clutch mode, the clutch kick action couldn't be triggered during drifting, making it impossible to use the clutch release to increase RPM and stabilize the drift.
There was even an absurd bug where pressing the handbrake and shifting gears could instantly skip gears, completely violating realistic driving physics.
This patch completely reconstructs the entire clutch physics, restoring the clutch kick action to a completely realistic feel. It also plugs the unreasonable instant shifting bug, and the speed matching and penalty for manual transmission operations are all back to normal settings.
The Instant Quit Bug in Drift Races Is Gone! Online Multiplayer Will No Longer Crash Halfway Through!
Suitable for: Online players who frequently team up for Horizon Drift races, and casual gamers who enjoy playing mountain drifts with friends online.
Benefits: No more frustrating situations where drift races are immediately canceled upon entry. Online drift groups and races run stably throughout, maximizing the experience of teaming up with friends to score points and practice maneuvers.
Previously, many players complained in the community that when they excitedly opened a drift race in Horizon Drift, the game would often crash unexpectedly within seconds of starting, without even a chance to drift through the first corner.
This patch directly identified and fixed the corresponding server system vulnerability. Now, all online drift races can run stably, and the embarrassing situation of the game ending immediately after starting will no longer occur.
Tips at the End
Hardcore Drift Players
Update the patch immediately and try out the clutch feel on the streets of Tokyo and the mountain roads of Japan. Advanced drifting maneuvers that were previously impossible to master can now be performed normally.
Online Multiplayer Players
After updating, team up with friends to play drift games. You no longer need to worry about crashing midway and can complete an entire drift race.
Casual Players
The overall drifting feel is smoother after this optimization. Even when drifting with an automatic transmission, you can feel more realistic vehicle posture control, greatly improving the gameplay experience.
