Summary:
The latest Helldivers 2 Major Order has given players plenty to talk about. With large numbers of enemies still standing and limited time available, the current objectives are proving to be a serious challenge. At the same time, Arrowhead is preparing new rewards, additional content, and possible changes that could make the next stage of Helldivers 2 Items the Galactic War even more interesting.
1. A Major Order That Feels Impossible
The biggest problem is the sheer scale of the current Major Order. Helldivers are being asked to eliminate huge numbers of enemies across multiple factions, but the remaining targets appear far beyond what the active player base can realistically handle.
This has naturally led to speculation that the developers may have intentionally designed the order to fail. A defeat is not necessarily bad for the story, especially after several successful campaigns. However, players generally want a loss to feel earned rather than mathematically predetermined.
There is still a chance that a Strategic Action or surprise event could change the situation. Until then, the best strategy is simply to keep completing the Major Order and watch the Galactic War map for sudden changes.
2. The Illuminates Need More Content
The current situation also highlights a larger problem:the Illuminates still have far fewer enemy variants than the other major factions.
The Terminids and Automatons have much larger enemy rosters, while the Illuminates have only a fraction of the variety. Their technology and visual design are unique, but fighting the same limited group of enemies repeatedly can make the faction feel less interesting.
The Illuminates also have an unfinished-feeling storyline involving the Void, DSS, Calypso, and mysterious signals. Even a short cinematic or small in-game event could make these developments feel much more important.
3. A New Eagle Stratagem Is Coming
On the positive side, Arrowhead has revealed the Eagle Gas Strike, a new red Stratagem connected to the Counter Dissident campaign.
The Eagle Gas Strike launches three missiles into the target area before releasing gas. This combination could make it useful against groups of enemies, with the missiles providing immediate damage while the gas continues affecting the area.
Several Ship Modules can make Eagle Stratagems even stronger. Liquid-Ventilated Cockpit reduces Eagle cooldown, Pit Crew Hazard Pay reduces rearm time, and Expanded Weapons Bays provides an additional use before rearming.
The XXL Weapons Bay is particularly interesting because it can increase the number of Eagle projectiles, potentially allowing the Eagle Gas Strike to launch four instead of three.
4. Campaign Rewards Will Return
Arrowhead has also clarified that campaign rewards will eventually enter the Evergreen system. This means players who miss a campaign reward should not necessarily lose access to it permanently.
This is especially important as more campaign rewards are planned for future updates. October is also expected to bring FRV-related rewards, although the exact distribution system has not yet been fully explained.
5. Galactic War Could Finally Change
Perhaps the biggest long-term question is the future of Helldivers 2 Super Credits the Galactic War itself. Players have asked Arrowhead to make the war more meaningful, with stronger progression, higher stakes, and even faction resets similar to Helldivers 1.
A major victory could temporarily remove an enemy faction before it returns as part of a new storyline. This would make victories and defeats feel more important than simply completing another percentage bar.
For now, Helldivers should keep fighting and watch for the next Strategic Action or narrative event. The current Major Order may look like another developer mistake, but it could also be the beginning of something much bigger.
