The new system focuses heavily on customization and specialization. Players can create traditional male MyPLAYERS or female MyPLAYERS, use Signature Blueprints based on NBA and WNBA stars, build their own unique player, and fine-tune their badges through a new token-based progression system.
Female MyPLAYERS Join NBA 2K27
One of the biggest additions is the ability to create female MyPLAYERS. These characters can appear throughout NBA career content, NBA Eras career, and the City.
Importantly, gender does not affect gameplay performance. Height, weight, wingspan, attributes, animations, and other important build characteristics determine how a player performs. This means male and female MyPLAYERS can compete together in the first-ever co-ed City without one gender receiving a gameplay advantage.
Players can squad up regardless of their character choice and compete in the Rec, Theater, Street Kings, Park, and other City activities.
Signature Blueprints Replace Previous Templates
NBA 2K27 is also introducing Signature Blueprints, a new builder path that replaces the previous Pro-Tuned and NBA template systems.

NBA 2K27 features more than 50 badges, including 19 new badges designed to create more specialized builds.

Rebirth Returns With Four Tiers

Once a player reaches 90 Overall, new builds can receive an immediate progression boost based on previous achievements. Higher Rebirth levels unlock more badge tokens when creating new builds.
