Summary
Finding a league starter that can take you from level 1 all the way to tier 15 maps—and even 200% delirium—without requiring expensive gear or trade is the holy grail in Path of Exile 2. This guide covers four solo self-found (SSF) friendly builds that have been tested in 0.5.5 and excel at handling rituals during the campaign while also deleting endgame bosses. The best part? You only need to kill the Arbiter of Divinity twice to get most of your Atlas points, and these builds are perfectly suited for that task. If you're short on time and want to skip the grind, you can buy Path of Exile 2 Currency to speed things up—but these builds work just fine without it. Now let's break down each starter.
Build #1: The Disciple of Varasha Jin Blaster (Sorceress)
Overview
This sorceress ascendancy uses all three Jins for devastating effects, creating one of the most well-rounded starters available. The build comes online early and scales smoothly through every stage of the game.
The Three Jins and Their Roles
Jin | Name | Function |
Navira | Frost Jin | Freezes everything, then shatters the whole screen—perfect for map clears |
Kilari | Sand Jin | Gets stronger and deals more damage every time you slam him down; can be repetitively slammed to delete bosses and elites |
Rujian | Fire Jin | Puts an explosive brand on enemies; use it to spam and activate your Arcan of Undeath |
The Arcan of Undeath Mechanic
This is the biggest buff in 0.5.5 for this build, providing:
More minion damage
Extreme cooldown recovery rate (spam skills without waiting)
When Does It Come Online?
Act 1: Play as a standard sorceress using lightning spells
Level 18-19: Full Jin blaster becomes playable
First Ascendancy: Use Sand Jin and Fire Jin together for effective clearing
Every Level: Power exponentially grows
Gear Priorities
Priority | Item | Effect |
High | +1 level to all minion skills | Doubles or triples damage |
High | Scepter with +3 to minion skills | Massive damage boost |
Cheap (1 Exalted) | Kirac's Leash | Unholy Might = 30% extra chaos damage on command |
Expensive | Romira's Banquet + Ambu's Charge | Wolves soak damage, trigger cast on minion death for ice novas |
The Dominion Node Strategy
At endgame, the Dominion node reduces the effect of the Arcanist buff but removes its cooldown—allowing you to constantly activate Arcan of Undeath. In 0.5.5, delirium encounters were buffed, making it easier than ever to farm the needed components without trading.
Even without Dominion: You'll still easily clear tier 15 maps and double Arbiter. Dominion just makes you even stronger.
Build #2: The Cluster Shotgun Mercenary (Gemling Legionnaire)
Overview
This build uses bonus quality options on the gemling legionnaire to turn cluster grenades into instant explosions that delete elites, bosses, and everything in between.
How It Works
The gemling's Advanced Thaumaturgy node grants socketed skills additional effects based on gem quality. Combined with passive tree quality bonuses, you get:
More projectiles
Vastly reduced detonation time (up to 72%)
With enough quality, you can:
Rip out Multi-shot from explosive grenades
Run through maps with grenades instantly exploding
Clear everything with "boom boom boom" instead of waiting for detonation timers
Area Clear Strategy
For rituals during campaign:
Use grenades normally
Load them into mortar cannons for instant explosions
Delete everything in your way
Quality Investment Breakdown
Source | Quality |
Passives | +6% |
Normal quality (Gemcutter's Prisms) | +20% |
Fox Idol chest piece | +5% (bought for 1 Divine Orb) |
Total (easily achievable) | ~31% |
With amulet investment | +projectile skills quality (optional) |
Key Insight: Even without the amulet, at 31% quality you get 3 projectiles and fast enough detonation. The amulet just lets you drop Short Fuse II for Short Fuse I, which gives more damage.
Minimum Investment vs. Fully Invested
Aspect | Minimum Investment | Fully Invested |
Projectiles | 3 | 3+ |
Detonation | Fast enough | Instant |
Clear Speed | Excellent | Bonkers |
Cost | Cheap | Moderate-Expensive |
