Summary
If you're looking for a currency farming strategy that maximizes profit by combining multiple mechanics into a single, efficient loop, this guide is for you. Whether you're a seasoned farmer or someone who prefers to POE currency buy to skip the grind, understanding these high-yield methods will help you make the most of every map. We'll be merging Destructive Play (Shaper Guardian maps), Essences, Heist, and Kingsmarch Ore farming into one powerful strategy. This guide breaks down the entire setup, from the Atlas tree to the live demonstration and profit breakdown.

1. Strategy Overview & Scarab Setup
This strategy is designed to generate consistent profit from several sources at once. The core loop is simple: run Shaper Guardian maps with a specific set of scarabs, clear all the mechanics you encounter on the way to the boss, kill the boss (and the extra ones summoned by Destructive Play), and repeat.
Here is the scarab setup you will use for every map:
2x Essence Scarabs (any tier). These guarantee essence monsters appear in your maps.
1x Scarab of Ascent
1x Scarab of Calcification: This ensures every essence monster has at least four essences, drastically increasing your yield.
1x Scarab of Stability
Map Choice
You will be running Shaper Guardian maps (found in the top-right quadrant of the Atlas). The rolls on these maps are not very important. Pack size, rarity, and quantity have no effect on essence mobs, heist chests, or sulfite ore. The only thing these map modifiers affect are the bosses at the end, which are enhanced by Destructive Play. Therefore, just buy the cheapest ones you can find, aiming for as much quantity as possible at an affordable price.
2. Atlas Tree
The Atlas tree is the backbone of this strategy. Here's how to allocate your points to maximize efficiency and profit.
Key Nodes to Take:
Essence Nodes: Take all essence nodes on the tree. This increases the number and tier of essences you find. Crucially, do NOT take the "Crystal Resonance" node. This node bricks the essence farm by making bosses incredibly difficult and corrupting essences useless.
Heist Nodes: Take the nodes on the far right that increase the chance for Heist contracts to be Deception. Also grab "No Honor Among Thieves" and "Casing the Joint" for better rewards. "Beautiful Soldier" gives a chance for blueprints to drop with special implicits, which can be very valuable.
Kingsmarch Nodes: Head to the left side of the tree to grab nodes for sulfite. You must take "Refiner's Bargain". This is the key node that converts the sulfite you find in maps into ore for your Kingsmarch shipments. Without it, the sulfite does nothing for this strategy.
Destructive Play: Take the "Destructive Play" keystone, which summons additional map bosses. This is a core part of the profit.
Blocking Content: Block all other league mechanics that you don't want to do (e.g., Legion, Blight, etc.) to increase your chances of finding Heist caches. Mercenaries can be left unlocked as they can be valuable.
Other Notable Nodes:
"Frantic Mining" and other nodes for increased sulfite quantity.
"Amplified Artifacts" for a higher chance of scarabs dropping from rare monsters.
"Thorough Exploration" to infuse the map boss with wisps when fewer than 50 monsters remain, increasing loot.

3. The Core Mechanics: What to Look For
When you're in the map, you're looking for three main things:
Essences
Which to Corrupt: You should always corrupt any essence monster that has four or more essences. The exception is if the essences are already highly rolled (e.g., a bunch of Deafening essences). Additionally, you should always corrupt the following four essences, regardless of the count, because they have a chance to upgrade into the much more valuable essences of Insanity, Horror, Delirium, or Hysteria: Scorn, Envy, Misery, or Dread. A simple trick is to remember the acronym MEDS for Misery, Envy, Dread, and Scorn.
How to Corrupt: Always carry a stack of Vaal Orbs in your inventory or stash. Use one on the essence monster to corrupt the essences it holds.
Pro Tip: Practice identifying these essences by color to save time and make the runs much faster.
Heist
Contracts: You are only looking for Deception contracts. Pick these up and ignore all others.
Blueprints: Pick up all blueprints. Certain ones with specific implicits can sell for multiple Divine Orbs.
Rogue Markers: Pick up all Rogue Markers (coins).
Kingsmarch Ore
Sulfite: Click on every sulfite node you see. The sulfite is automatically converted into ore via the "Refiner's Bargain" Atlas passive and sent to Kingsmarch.
4. Live Demonstration: A Map Run
The live demonstration in the video shows this process in action:
The player enters a Shaper Guardian map.
They find an essence monster with two essences and leave it (not corrupting it) before killing it.
They loot a Deception contract and some Rogue Markers.
They find a large essence monster with many essences. Even without the "MEDS" essences, they corrupt it because of the high number, resulting in several essences upgrading to Deafening tier.
They click on a sulfite node, gaining ore.
They find more Heist caches and open a Strongbox.
Upon reaching the boss room, they drop a portal, kill the boss and the additional bosses summoned by Destructive Play.
After clearing the map, they return to their hideout with a full inventory of essences, contracts, blueprints, and other currency.
5. Post-Run Management & Loot Breakdown
Once you've finished a session, it's time to process your loot.
Essences
After a run, go to your Essence tab. Click the upgrade button to upgrade all your essences to Deafening essences. These are the most valuable and easiest to sell.
Heist
You now have a collection of Deception contracts and blueprints.
Kingsmarch Shipments
The ore you collected is in your Kingsmarch harbor. Here's how to maximize profit:
Go to your Kingsmarch harbor and select the Shipment tab.
Select the far left port. This port gives valuable Intelligence tattoos, which sell for a good amount of currency.
Max out all the ore sliders (Petrified Amber, Orichalcum, Bismuth, etc.) to send the largest shipment possible.
If you have it, add any Thaumaturgic Dust to the shipment to increase its value.
Send the shipment. It will take around 2.5 hours to return.
The shipment, when completed, can reward you with Divines, other currency, and a variety of tattoos.
Loot Breakdown
Here's a breakdown of what you can expect from an hour of this farm. The following numbers are based on the analysis in the video:
Cost per Hour (16 maps): ~600 Chaos (approx. 2.82 Divines). This includes the cost of the 16 eight-mod Shaper maps and the scarabs (32 Essence scarabs, 16 Ascent, 16 Stability, 16 Calcification).
Realistic Net Profit (Without Lucky Drops): ~14.58 Divines. This is the profit from just the raw currency, scarabs, and essences. This is what you can expect even with the worst luck in the world.
Potential Net Profit (With Ore Shipment & Lucky Drops): ~25.23 Divines. This includes:
Essences: ~7.8 Divines
Raw Currency & Scarabs: ~9.6 Divines
Kingsmarch Shipment (40k ore): ~2.2 Divines
Lucky Blueprint Drop: An experimental item blueprint sold for 1,800 Chaos (~8.45 Divines). You can expect to find one of these every 30-40 maps on average.
This strategy is an RNG-based farm due to the Heist caches and blueprint drops, but the core returns from essences and the ore shipment make it consistently profitable. For players looking to supplement their earnings or skip the farming grind entirely, trusted platforms like MMOEXP offer a reliable way to acquire POE currency quickly and securely, allowing you to gear up for endgame content without the wait. It's a complex but highly rewarding way to generate currency per hour.
