Summary
Making currency in Path of Exile 2 does not always require running the most popular farming strategy or spending hours crafting. Some of the best opportunities come from understanding what other players are buying and turning overlooked items into profit.
The key idea is simple: do not only farm currency—farm opportunities. The strategies below cover corruption gambling, tablet selling, base crafting, market flipping, spread trading, and several efficient boss farms. To get started, buy POE2 Currency and fund the initial investments you need to scale your chosen strategy.
1. Corrupt Valuable Uniques
One of the highest-risk, highest-reward methods is buying inexpensive well-rolled uniques and corrupting them.
Widowhail: The Jackpot Example
Widowhail is a perfect example. A normal maximum roll reaches 250%, but corruption can produce a significantly higher roll. Community examples have documented corrupted Widowhails reaching 300%+ values, including the famous 305% roll.
The basic strategy is:
1. Buy several high-roll, non-corrupted Widowhails.
2. Get them to 20% quality.
3. Add the desired sockets before corruption.
4. Use a Vaal Orb.
5. Sell valuable outcomes rather than keeping every item.
A third socket or useful corruption can recover part of your investment, while an extremely high percentage roll can become a major payday.
The important point is volume. Do not assume one corruption will make you rich. Buying 10 inexpensive bases and hitting one exceptional result is much safer psychologically than risking your entire bankroll on a single item.
Guiding Palm Corruption
Guiding Palm is another interesting gamble. The three Guiding Palm variants can be corrupted into Palm of the Dreamer, making the base itself a potential profit opportunity.
Because Palm of the Dreamer is specifically obtained by corrupting Guiding Palm variants, this is a genuine target rather than a random jackpot.
Only use this strategy with money you can afford to lose. Corruption is gambling, not guaranteed income.
2. Sell Unused Tablets
Tablets sitting in your stash are often hidden currency.
If you are not running Breach, Delirium, Ritual, or another mechanic, price-check the corresponding tablets instead of letting them accumulate.
Turn Stash Clutter Into Profit
At the end of a play session:
Price-check your unused tablets.
Sell tablets for mechanics you do not run.
Keep only the tablets required for your own strategy.
Consider using Chance Orbs on appropriate white tablets when the potential target is valuable.
The advantage is that you are monetizing items you already earned. There is no additional mapping cost.
This follows one of the most important PoE 2 trading principles: sell what other players need, not only what you personally use.
3. Fracture Valuable Bases
You do not need to be an expert crafter to profit from crafting bases.
Look for desirable bases with an extremely valuable modifier, such as high Spirit on an amulet. If you can acquire the base cheaply, you can attempt to fracture the important modifier.
The Basic Process
1. Buy an inexpensive high-potential base.
2. Improve its roll if necessary.
3. Turn it into the required item type.
4. Attempt to fracture the valuable modifier.
5. If successful, sell the fractured base or continue crafting it.
The fractured base itself has value because another player can now safely craft around the guaranteed modifier.
This strategy works especially well when the finished item is expensive, but the base is relatively cheap.
4. Use Spread Trading
If you have excess gold, spread trading can turn that otherwise unused resource into additional currency.
The concept is straightforward: look at both sides of the market and identify a meaningful gap between what players are offering and what others are willing to pay.
How to Profit
Suppose an item can be bought for around 155 Exalted Orbs while another player is willing to pay approximately 160 Exalted Orbs.
You can:
1. Place a buy order near the lower price.
2. Wait for someone to sell to you.
3. Resell the item closer to the higher market price.
4. Repeat with multiple trades.
The individual profit may be small, but you can do this while mapping, playing another activity, or even being offline.
The biggest requirement is patience. Do not chase tiny margins when market movement or taxes can erase your profit.
5. Flip Undervalued Gear
Flipping works on the same principle but is more item-specific.
For example, if a desirable unique is consistently selling around 140 Divines and you find a legitimate listing at 120, there may be an opportunity to buy it and relist it.
