Summary
Patch 0.5.5 has been live for a few weeks, and the Omen of Light farm players built in 0.5 no longer works the way it used to. Omens now drop far less often inside maps and far more often inside the Abyssal Depths. Craniums and Ancient Bones also appear slightly more often from troves, which reshapes how the whole farm pays out.
The setup below is the most tested approach after comparing several runs. It is no longer a pure Omen farm. It is a combined Abyss map and raw-currency strategy where Omens, craniums, Ancient Bones, raw Divines, and POE2 Currency all share the same Atlas build. Expect roughly 50 to 60 Divines per 10 maps on an average roll, with a wide RNG band between one raw Divine and a single 30-Divine spike.
What Actually Changed in Patch 0.5.5
Three balance shifts drive the new strategy.
First, Omens of Light are far rarer in your maps and far more common in the Depths. GGG has pushed the reward out of the open map and into the pocket dungeon. That makes the Abyssal Depths itself the most valuable room in any run.
Second, every rare monster inside the Depths can now drop an Omen of Light, regardless of faction. That is new. You are no longer forced to run Amanamu just to chase Omens underground.
Third, Amanamu's void-smoke modifier is still the only way to get an Omen to drop inside the actual map. If you run Amanamu and you see a black smoke cloud around a rare, do not kill it in the smoke. Wait until it walks out, then kill it. This one mistake silently deletes your map-level Omen odds.
Craniums and Ancient Bones also got a small buff on chest drops. They are still rare, but they now feel more present, and they only drop from Abyssal troves - never from monsters. That makes Cryptic Keys worth the spend.
Core Strategy: Juice the Map for the Depths
Because Omens now mostly live in the Depths, the map itself is no longer the payday. It is the delivery system that gets you to the Abyssal Depths with enough loot and chest value to justify the run.
The loop looks like this. Roll a high-item-rarity corrupted map, run the Amanamu faction, pull void-smoke rares correctly, hope the Abyssal Depths spawn, kill every rare inside it, then open every Abyssal Trove twice with a Cryptic Key.
Tabula price is currently cheap relative to Omen value, and Omens have climbed from about five Divines at league launch to roughly eight. That price spread is what makes the setup profitable right now. If either number flips, re-evaluate.
Faction Choice and the Pull Rule
Amanamu remains the recommended faction. It is still the only faction that can drop Omens in the open map, which is your safety floor on runs where no Depths room appears.
Kirac or Ulman are valid alternatives if you are tired of babysitting void smoke. You will still get Omens inside the Depths, but you give up the map-level bonus. Pick whichever lets you clear maps faster, because clear speed directly affects Divines per hour.
Atlas Tree and J and Master Nodes
For J and, treat these as mandatory:
Unexpected Missions - required because the build runs corrupted maps.
Parcel Translations - the strongest node on J and, giving up to 40% increased tablet effect.
Mysterious Gifts - more Cryptic Keys so you can sustain double-opening troves.
Better Chests node - pushes rare chests over magic chests, which matters because craniums and Ancient Bones only come from chests.
On the Abyss tree, take the water-biome currency chests node and the forest-biome rare monster node. Stack item rarity over effectiveness. Take Rogue Exiles in every region, since a well-rolled Heart of the Wells is genuinely valuable. Shrines are optional and only there to make maps smoother.
Use Scattered Pits only if your tablets already roll 10% effectiveness per closed pit. Otherwise, take the second pit node. Either way, you need extra closed pits somewhere between your tree and tablets.
