Alpha 4.10 Release Date: When Is It Coming?

Alpha 4.10 has been undergoing extensive PTU testing, with all waves now open. As of August 19, Cloud Imperium Games said the team was entering the final stretch and planned to spend the rest of the week stress-testing the patch before moving it to the Live servers.

While an exact Live release date has not been officially confirmed, the latest testing suggests that Alpha 4.10 could arrive very soon, assuming the final stability and performance checks go smoothly.

What's Coming in Alpha 4.10?

The update is shaping up to be a significant gameplay patch. Key features include Siege of Orison, new instancing technology, item recovery improvements for ship loadouts, fuel tank and consumption changes, and additional weapons and armor.

The final PTU push is also focusing heavily on Siege of Orison, Recco Battaglia, and cargo missions. CIG is using this period to identify performance problems and backend issues before the patch reaches the wider player base.

As a player, having enough Star Citizen AUEC can also help you prepare ships, gear, and other essentials for Alpha 4.10.

Ship Showdown 2956 Enters Phase 2

Ship Showdown is now one of the biggest community events in the 'verse. Phase 2 began on August 18, with the Top 16 ships facing off in daily matchups through September 2. Two ships compete each day, and community votes determine which favorites advance.

That means pilots still have plenty of opportunities to rally behind their favorite ships and influence the final bracket.

This Week's Full Rundown

The main focus this week is clearly Alpha 4.10 testing and Ship Showdown. CIG is also preparing for Gamescom in Cologne on August 28, giving the Star Citizen community another major event to watch.

For players, the message is simple: Alpha 4.10 is almost ready, but CIG is prioritizing stability over rushing the release. With Siege of Orison, new instancing systems, gameplay adjustments, and Ship Showdown all happening at once, the next few weeks could be some of the busiest of the summer.
