Summary

Vehicles are some of the toughest targets in WARDOGS, but the right explosive and hit location can make a huge difference. RPGs, M4S, C4, IEDs, and even frag grenades all behave differently against armored and unarmored vehicles.

This guide breaks down the explosive damage tests across WARDOGS vehicles, including the Bobcat, Dune Buggy, Kodiak, Humvee, Ural, artillery tank, and main battle tank. If you want to know which explosives can one-shot a vehicle and where to aim, these tests provide a practical reference. Explosives Tested in WARDOGS

The tests cover five main explosive options:

RPG-7

M4S/M.A.W.S.

C4

IED

Frag Grenades

Most of these explosives are relatively accessible, while the M4S/M.A.W.S. is tied to the Support progression and is harder to obtain. Its main advantage is consistency against many armored targets.

The most important lesson from the tests is that where you hit the vehicle matters almost as much as what explosive you use. Engines, doors, rear sections, fuel areas, and tracks can behave very differently from windshields, tires, and other low-damage areas.

Light Vehicles: Bobcat and Dune Buggy

Bobcat

The Bobcat is one of the easiest vehicles to destroy with explosives. A single well-placed explosive is enough with several of the tested options.

One frag grenade, C4, an IED, an RPG, or an M4S/M.A.W.S. can destroy the Bobcat.

However, RPG and M4S/M.A.W.S. shots against the tires can behave differently. Because of the way splash damage interacts with the vehicle, hitting a tire may disable the vehicle instead of immediately destroying it.

For a reliable kill, aim at the main body rather than deliberately targeting the tires.

Dune Buggy

The Dune Buggy is also vulnerable to explosives, although frag grenades require more careful placement.

Two well-placed frag grenades around the engine can destroy it, while a single C4 is enough. An RPG or M4S/M.A.W.S. can also one-shot the vehicle when hitting the body.

Again, avoid relying on tire shots. The top section can also survive an RPG hit, making the main body or engine area a better target.

Kodiak Vehicles

The tested Kodiak variants have roughly similar durability, so the same general strategy applies across them.

Frag grenades require approximately three hits, while:

C4: 1

IED: 1

RPG: 1

M4S/M.A.W.S.: 1

This makes C4, IEDs, RPGs, and M4S/M.A.W.S. considerably more efficient than trying to destroy a Kodiak with grenades.

For players using ranged explosives, the RPG or M4S/M.A.W.S. provides a straightforward solution. C4 and IEDs can also produce extremely efficient kills when you can safely get close enough.

Humvee Damage Tests

Humvees are more complicated because different variants have different durability and hitbox behavior.

Standard and Transport Humvees

Frag grenades are relatively inefficient against Humvees. Grenades placed near the engine can deal around a quarter of the required damage per hit on the tested vehicle, meaning several grenades may be required.

The transport variant can require around five grenades.

C4 is much more effective. Two C4 charges placed around the engine or front/side areas can destroy a standard Humvee, while less optimal placements can require more.

The IED is particularly effective against the transport Humvee, with a single IED capable of destroying it regardless of the tested placement.

RPG placement is also important. The transport Humvee can take two RPG hits when targeting the lower body, but shots against the tires, windshield, top, or rear windshield are poor choices.

The M4S/M.A.W.S. can one-shot the Humvee when aimed at the lower front, side, or rear body. Avoid the windshield areas.

Gunner Humvee

The Gunner Humvee is tougher than the basic variants.

An RPG requires around three shots in the tested conditions. The M4S/M.A.W.S., however, can destroy it with a single well-placed shot.

Useful targets include:

Front grille

Rear/engine area

Underside

Some rear shots can be inconsistent, so aiming directly at the engine or front grille is preferable.

Ural and Ural Defender

Ural

The Ural demonstrates why weak spots are so important.

Frag grenades are inconsistent and can require around five hits. Two C4 charges can destroy the vehicle, while an IED placed on the left side around the engine, fuel, or hull can kill it.

An RPG can also one-shot the Ural when hitting the appropriate side or engine area.

Avoid wasting RPG shots on the spare tire, bed, or windshield.

The M4S/M.A.W.S. is more consistent and can be treated as an upgrade when dealing with the Ural.

Ural Defender

The Ural Defender is more heavily protected, but its cabin and engine-related areas remain important targets.

Expect roughly three to five frag grenades depending on placement, while C4 generally takes around two.

For RPG and M4S/M.A.W.S. attacks, focus on the:

Cabin

Doors

Engine

Fuel area

The armored box is generally a poor target, although certain shots can still produce a one-shot with an RPG.

The M4S/M.A.W.S. is again the more consistent option when you need reliable explosive damage.

M249 Ural Weak Spots

The M249 Ural behaves differently from the standard Ural, particularly with C4.

Normal C4 placements are less effective, but there is a useful alternative: crawl underneath the vehicle and place C4 around the rear axle. Two C4 charges in this area can destroy it.

An IED placed around the rear axle can also one-shot the vehicle.

RPGs can destroy the M249 Ural with a rear hit, although this is not always practical. Otherwise, expect around two RPG hits.

For the M4S/M.A.W.S., focus on the door, engine, or fuel area. The front windshield and bumper are poor targets.

Artillery Tank: C4 Is the Key

The artillery tank is where explosive choice becomes especially important.

Frag grenades can damage a track, but using four grenades just to destroy one tread is inefficient.

C4 is much more effective. One C4 placed on the tracks can destroy them, while two C4 charges placed around the rear can destroy the artillery tank.

An IED on the rear can also set the vehicle on fire and eventually destroy it, although the crew may have time to escape.

RPGs require approximately three hits. The first can disable the vehicle, while subsequent hits finish the destruction.

The M4S/M.A.W.S. requires around two rear shots in the tested conditions, with the first potentially disabling the vehicle.

For a close-range ambush, C4 provides one of the most useful solutions against the artillery tank.

Main Tank Weak Spots and Explosive Damage

The main tank is significantly more durable and has several modules that can be damaged or repaired.

Frag grenades are not an efficient choice. Around four grenades can destroy a track, but they provide relatively little value elsewhere.

C4 is much more effective. Placing C4 around the rear engine can produce a one-shot destruction under the tested setup, although the exact number can vary. Side placements can require around five C4 charges.

An IED placed on the engine can set the tank on fire, eventually causing it to die.

RPGs are most effective against the rear engine area, but around three RPG hits may be required from full health.

The M4S/M.A.W.S. can take around two shots to the engine or approximately three shots from the sides.

The engine is therefore one of the most important weak spots when attempting to destroy the main tank.

Anti-Tank Mines

Anti-tank mines are another important part of vehicle destruction.

According to the tests, a vehicle that actually rolls over an anti-tank mine can be destroyed in one hit. Artillery vehicles and APCs have been observed being killed this way.

A regular tank was not tested often enough to confirm the exact result, so it is better not to treat a tank one-shot as definitively proven.

For practical ambushes, however, mines are especially useful at intersections, chokepoints, and predictable vehicle routes.

Best Targets to Aim For

Across the different vehicle tests, several patterns stand out.

Engines and rear sections are frequently strong targets, especially against trucks and tanks. Doors, fuel areas, and lower body sections can also provide high damage on certain vehicles.

By contrast, windshields, tires, bumpers, and some upper sections can produce significantly worse results.

The best strategy is therefore not simply to carry the strongest explosive. Learn the vehicle's vulnerable areas and match the explosive to the situation.

Final Tips for Destroying Vehicles

For lightly armored vehicles such as the Bobcat, a single RPG, C4, IED, or M4S/M.A.W.S. can often solve the problem immediately.

Against larger vehicles, C4 and IEDs are particularly powerful at close range, while RPGs and M4S/M.A.W.S. give you more flexibility from a distance.

Most importantly, aim for the engine, rear, cabin, door, fuel area, or other tested weak spots instead of blindly firing at the vehicle. Avoid tires and windshields when the tests show reduced damage.

With the right combination of explosive and placement, even heavily armored WARDOGS vehicles can be disabled or destroyed with far fewer resources.
