Summary
The WoW Forever Legacy System is an account-wide progression feature built around horizontal progression. Players earn Legacy Points by completing class, profession, PvP, adventure, dungeon, and raid achievements. Every character on the account can then spend the shared points independently, while each character can currently spend up to 16 points. The system also unlocks cosmetic rewards, including a toy, pet, tabard, WOW Forever Gold, and mount.
1. How the Legacy System Works
Legacy Points are earned across the entire account rather than being divided between characters. The current system has 65 obtainable points and 21 perks. Blizzard has also indicated that the system is still in its early stage and can expand with future content.
The six main sources of points include leveling the nine classes, progressing eligible professions, PvP ranks and reputations, exploration, dungeon achievements, and raid clears. Class progression alone can provide up to 27 points, while professions can provide another 18.
2. Profession Legacy Perks
The Profession tree focuses on gathering, crafting, fishing, and vendor-related benefits. Working Overtime increases the chance of gaining profession skill points, while Bartering reduces vendor prices.
Bountiful Harvest is particularly useful for players who regularly mine, gather herbs, or skin because it can significantly increase additional resource finds. Master Chef can produce extra cooking results, while Lure Master increases the chance of catching additional fish.
For gathering-focused characters, Bountiful Harvest and Lure Master can provide more noticeable long-term value than the basic skill-point bonuses.
3. Adventure Legacy Perks
The Adventure tree is especially useful for leveling characters. Well-Rested increases the speed and capacity of rested experience, making it attractive for frequently played alts.
Thrill of Adventure restores a percentage of health and mana after eligible kills, which can reduce downtime during open-world leveling. Field Medicine can also reduce the bandage cooldown.
Game Twisting Talented unlocks talent points earlier without increasing the final number of talent points, making it another interesting option for leveling.
4. Resourcefulness Legacy Perks
Resourcefulness offers convenience and economic benefits. Gorman extends food buff duration, Permanence extends class buff duration, and Quick and the Dead improves ghost movement speed.
Reinforce reduces durability loss when dying, making it particularly useful for tanks and characters that frequently suffer repair costs. Diplomat increases reputation gains, while Great Honor increases Honor gains.
5. Legacy Rewards and Point Planning
The account also unlocks rewards at specific milestones. At 15 points, players can claim an Air Rifle toy. At 25 points, a Bear Cub pet becomes available. Reaching 40 points unlocks a tabard, while 55 points unlocks the Reins of the Spectral Bear mount.
Because characters can currently spend only 16 points, planning matters. Leveling characters may prioritize Thrill of Adventure, while gathering characters can focus on Bountiful Harvest. Reinforce, Diplomat, and Great Honor are alternative choices for players focused on durability, reputation, World of Warcraft: Forever Gold, or PvP.
The Legacy System is designed to expand over time, so future perks and rewards may significantly change how players plan their points.
