1. Dwarf Shaman Has a Strong Defensive Racial
Dwarf remains an interesting Alliance choice for Shaman.
The key racial is Stoneform, which:
Removes bleed, poison, and disease effects
Provides immunity to those effects
Reduces physical damage taken by 10% for 8 seconds
Dwarves also gain 1% critical strike chance with maces and two-handed maces.
For combat, Stoneform is clearly the most important part of the racial package.
2. Enhancement Shaman: Tank Potential Is Still Unclear
Enhancement is the specialization getting the most attention.
Several talents improve:
Attack power
Dodge
Weapon damage
Rockbiter threat
Stormstrike uptime
Ghost Wolf utility
Stormstrike also gets a much shorter cooldown, making Enhancement considerably more active.
The tanking tools are especially interesting.
Rockbiter Weapon increases threat, while Earth Shock also generates high threat and interrupts spellcasting.
But there is a major limitation:
There is no obvious dedicated taunt.
Stoneclaw Totem can taunt nearby enemies, but it is not a reliable replacement for a traditional tank taunt against raid bosses.
So, Enhancement tanking may have potential for dungeons, but full raid tanking remains uncertain.
3. Elemental Shaman Gets More Burst Options
Elemental focuses heavily on Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Flame Shock, and Lava Burst.
Some of the notable changes include:
Lava Burst deals increased damage when Flame Shock is active
Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning can trigger an additional spell
Elemental gains more critical strike support
Several talents reduce casting times
Nature spell and totem damage receives additional bonuses
The extra Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning effect is particularly interesting.
It can trigger a second similar spell for half damage without additional threat, giving Elemental some extra burst potential.
Mana Is Still a Concern:
The biggest question for Elemental is mana.
The current talents provide plenty of offensive improvements, but there does not appear to be a major solution to sustained mana problems.
That could become important in longer fights.
4. Restoration Shaman Remains a Strong Healer
Restoration has a much clearer identity.
Important tools include:
Improved healing critical strikes
Faster Healing Wave casts
Mana regeneration improvements
Stronger Mana Spring Totem

Riptide is especially notable because it heals the target and improves the effectiveness of Chain Heal on that target.
That gives Restoration a useful setup for group healing.
Water Shield also restores mana when the Shaman is hit by qualifying attacks or spells, although it is less useful when the Shaman is not taking damage.
5. What About Dual Wield?
Dual wielding is still one of the unanswered questions.
The visible weapon skills include axes, maces, daggers, staves, two-handed weapons, and unarmed combat, but the available interface does not clearly confirm dual wield.
It could potentially be learned later from a trainer.
Until that is confirmed, players should treat dual wield as unconfirmed rather than guaranteed.
6. Is WoW Forever Shaman Ready for Tanking?
The current design gives Enhancement more tools to generate threat and survive incoming damage, but that does not automatically make it a full tank specialization.
Dungeon tanking: Possible potential
Raid tanking: Still questionable
Elemental: Stronger burst and spell interactions
Restoration: Traditional healing and totem support
The most important missing piece is still a reliable boss taunt. If WoW Forever adds one through a trainer or another system, Enhancement's tanking potential could look very different.
