Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3, Journey to the Sky, is live. The update adds Phoenix, a new story chapter, Bangboo Mech combat, Halloween rewards, and Fairy’s team recommendations.
Start with eligible compensation and login claims, then prioritize expiring activities over permanent story content.
If you searched for zzz 3.3 countdown, the patch itself has finished rolling out globally. The dates that matter now are regional event openings, banner deadlines, and reward cutoffs.
Event Calendar and Server Times
ZZZ’s Spooky Funhouse Tales opens October 22 at 10:00 server time. Phoenix and Velina are already available; their channels end November 11 at 11:59 server time.
Severian is confirmed for the second half, with November 11 the expected handover date. Check the Phase II notice for his exact opening time.

Angels Support Operation | Continued from 3.2 | November 30, 03:59 | Eligible free outfits |
All table times are server time. Version 3.3 itself ends at December 1, 22:00 UTC, a single global moment. The main chapter is permanent; event rewards follow their own deadlines. Check dedicated notices for future minigame payouts instead of assuming identical Polychrome rewards.
The October 22 funhouse opening converts to 02:00 UTC for Asia/TW/HK/MO, 09:00 UTC for Europe, and 15:00 UTC for America. On America, that is 11:00 AM EDT / 8:00 AM PDT. Your account server determines the schedule, regardless of where you live.
Your First Session
For ZZZ returners, collect eligible mail and the available login reward first. Below Level 20, or without Chapter 1’s Intermission complete, continue those prerequisites before heading to the funhouse. If eligible, visit Patsy at the HIA Club and clear available Mission Mode stages.
Quick-reference diagram; not a game screenshot.
When the next theme is waiting for its scheduled opening, claim completed objectives and switch to story progression. If a story destination is locked, check its chapter prerequisite. If combat blocks progress, inspect the team’s challenge prompts before starting another character project.
Cyber Miracle Healer, Trails of the Hobbling Crow, and Repair! Drifting Art also require Level 20 and Chapter 1’s Intermission. Remember the short double-reward windows when planning material farming.
Phoenix, Velina and Severian
Zenless Zone Zero 3.3 features Phoenix, a Fire Anomaly Agent, alongside returning Wind Anomaly Agent Velina in Phase I. Their engines are Plume of Rebirth and Joyau Dore. Phase II brings Wind Attack Agent Severian and returning Fire Stun Agent Norma, with Incarcerating Grip and Chief Sidekick.
Choose by Your Existing Team
Phoenix lets Attribute Anomaly damage CRIT through Sear. This benefits Velina’s Vortex and Remielle’s Luminize, but does not apply to Disorder. A conventional Disorder replacement therefore changes the team’s benefits.
Your Roster | Suggested Priority | Practical Reason |
Remielle + Velina | Consider Phoenix | She has a clear home in Phoenix / Velina / Remielle; retaining a successful existing driver is also reasonable |
Remielle, no Velina | Velina before Phoenix or Phoenix’s signature | Complete the core, then reassess the driver |
Velina, no Remielle | Consider Phoenix if you have Yuzuha | Phoenix / Velina / Yuzuha is a supported alternative |
Neither core teammate | Usually save | Vivian / Yuzuha or Promeia / Yuzuha alternatives do not reproduce the premium team’s synergy |
Mature Anomaly team meeting your goals | Optional upgrade | No universal clear-time improvement over your current driver is established |
These are editorial recommendations based on Prydwen’s synergy analysis and published alternative teams, not independent account-by-account tests.
Trial, Equipment and the 255 Target
Open Events > The Final Callback - Audition Stage to try Phoenix and Velina. You need Level 8 and Events unlocked through the Prologue’s Intermission. Trials end November 11 at 11:59 server time; first clears have rewards on the results screen. Trial equipment and teammates do not represent what your account already owns.
Phoenix W-Engine | When to Use It |
Weeping Gemini | Accessible A-Rank starting option; Anomaly Proficiency stacks do not supply an Anomaly Mastery main stat |
Angel in the Shell | Reuse an existing copy for its Mastery and Proficiency; its Ether-only conditional effect does not apply to Phoenix |
Plume of Rebirth | Optional signature investment after choosing the team |
Start with four-piece Freedom Blues and two-piece Phaethon’s Melody. Default main stats are Anomaly Proficiency on slot 4, Fire DMG on slot 5, and Anomaly Mastery on slot 6.
255 initial Anomaly Mastery caps Sear’s Anomaly CRIT Rate scaling. Reaching it generally requires an S-Rank W-Engine with a Mastery main stat, Mastery on slot 6, and the matching two-piece bonus. Temporary combat-only Mastery does not replace this requirement. With Weeping Gemini, expect to fall short: 255 is the full-passive target, not the minimum for a usable Phoenix.
Prydwen’s full-team engine model uses Velina with Joyau Dore and Remielle with Ode of Resurrected Wings:
Phoenix’s Engine | Relative Modelled Team Output |
Plume of Rebirth, one copy | 100.00% |
Angel in the Shell, one copy | 88.01% |
Weeping Gemini, maximum refinement | 82.22% |
These figures compare equipment in that lineup. They do not predict clear times, Phoenix’s improvement over an old driver, or performance without Velina. See the full build assumptions.
Phoenix’s Basic Combat Loop
Starter flow adapted from Prydwen’s rotation; this is an editorial diagram.
Keep an Anomaly on the target before Purifying Flame’s finishing hit so it can trigger Abloom. Longer Basic 4 and enhanced Basic animations provide opportunities to use Remielle’s actions.
Keep Future Pulls Separate
Velina’s signature improves Energy Regen, Vortex performance and teamwide Proficiency, but secure her Agent copy first. Its published model uses Burnice and Remielle; it cannot be directly compared with Phoenix’s model to establish a universal signature priority.
If Severian’s Wind Attack playstyle is your goal, reserve resources for him. His counterattack mechanics build toward continuous slashes; wait for his live kit and trial before committing to detailed gear. Norma is a separate decision when an intended team needs her Stun role.
Robin and Kafka were revealed for the 3.4 crossover, according to reporting of the official announcement. Preserve that reserve before optional signatures. A free crossover Agent is not established by that announcement, and proposed 3.5 banner orders remain speculation.
New Agent Outfits
ZZZ’s paid store outfits are separate from the free Angels rewards. Phoenix’s Empty Daydreams bundle includes The Illness Called Life and Daydream Complex for 2,350 Monochrome. If you plan to top up ZZZ for these outfits, remember that each costs 1,350 Monochrome during its discount, so the bundle saves 350 only if you want both. Individual outfits remain available afterward at 1,680 each.
Severian’s Solemnly Impeccable offer begins November 11 at 12:00 server time, at 1,350 Monochrome before reverting to 1,680. Outfit offers end December 1 at 21:59 UTC. This store opening does not establish his exact banner opening. Official store details.
Story and Bangboo Mechs
Zenless Zone Zero’s Season 3 Chapter 4 requires Chapter 3, Their Secret Histories. Advance Screening also supports earlier Season 3 access after ranking up in Season 1 Chapter 1’s Intermission. Quietude Isle and the Airspace Control Tower unlock through the new chapter.
Mechs switch between melee and ranged modes. Shoot explosive objects near enemies with ranged attacks; use the demonstrated melee action when an obstacle requires launching a heavy object. After an EX Special Attack or dodge, use the tutorial’s stronger-laser opportunity. Controller and mobile have ranged aim assistance.
These are officially described interactions, not a verified walkthrough of every room. Follow each encounter’s demonstrated interaction rather than assuming every obstacle responds to shooting.
Spooky Funhouse Tales
ZZZ’s Halloween event requires Level 20 and Chapter 1’s Intermission. Speak to Patsy at the HIA Club. Three Mission Mode themes unlock sequentially, with Challenge Mode opening through mission progress.
Goal | Required Focus |
Angels of Delusion outfit | Finish every Mission Mode stage, then claim through Angels Support Operation |
Candlelit Scheme | Advance event commissions and stages |
Prankster/Mischievous accessories, Polychromes and materials | Complete and collect the listed reward objectives |
Higher Fright scores | Return to unlocked Challenge Mode stages |
Clear available missions before repeating score challenges. Check whether a lock requires story progress, Mission Mode completion, or a later opening date. Exact card orders and stage-specific high-score routes are not verified here; no tested solution for every stage is claimed. Official event rules.
Claim the Free Outfit
Complete all Mission Mode stages, including later themes, then open Angels Support Operation and claim the corresponding reward before November 30, 03:59 server time. A high Challenge score does not replace mission completion.
Choices include Nangong Yu’s Heartfelt Support, Aria’s Cuteness Loading, and Sunna’s Delusions in Business. Each outfit is claimable once, even without owning its Agent. Unclaimed rewards will not be reissued. Official outfit conditions.
Candlelit Scheme: Claim or Develop
Candlelit Scheme is Armorer equipment for a character such as Claret, not Phoenix’s Anomaly equipment. Its damage bonus needs an enemy below half health; that effect contributes nothing if the target never reaches that threshold.
Your Account | Recommended Action |
No Armorer you plan to use | Claim and store it |
Claret with maximum-refinement Catty Luck | Retain Catty Luck |
Claret with Crimson Thirst | Retain the signature |
Claret without suitable developed equipment | Consider the event fallback, but compare Catty Luck before full investment |
Prydwen’s Claret model, using Roxy and Rina, assumes zero uptime for the conditional damage bonus and says even 50% uptime remains below maximum-refinement Catty Luck. This supports keeping that existing investment, not assuming every team has an identical gap.
Fairy and Endgame Changes
In ZZZ 3.3, open Agent Guides from an Agent’s details, Function Menu, Compendium, or Beginner Guide. Fairy recommends teams from your roster, explains their play and applies presets. The feature remains in testing. Use its tutorials and challenge prompts to distinguish missing upgrades from an unsuitable composition.
Enigma of the Labyrinth adds Spooky Trial. Gather Spookies Power Candles, submit them at the Spookies Tactics Table, and complete trials for rewards and Candle Cores. Compare Spookies Recycling offers among accessible shops before selling cores for Season Coins. Redeem wanted version-limited stock at Boojee’s Store before it expires.
High-Risk investigations add three Mimic Substance types. Completing the set automatically synthesizes a valuable, but pickups apply random Corruptions and increase severe-Corruption risk. If two types are collected and existing penalties already prevent reliable combat, chasing the missing type carries a real survival cost; no guaranteed profit per run is established.
Shiyu buffs shift from Fire Anomaly benefits toward later Wind Attack benefits, while Deadly Assault changes enemies. Review the active matchup before rebuilding. A favorable cycle does not make a new Agent mandatory. Official system changes.
Compensation and Login Rewards
Eligible Zenless Zone Zero accounts receive 300 maintenance Polychromes plus 300 issue-fix Polychromes. Both require Level 4 before October 20 at 22:00 UTC. Later accounts do not qualify retroactively.
Claim issue-fix compensation before November 20 at 15:59 UTC. Maintenance compensation is claimable before version end, but mail expires after 30 days. Collect attachments promptly.
All-New Program gives ten Encrypted Master Tapes over seven login days. En-Nah Into Your Lap gives ten Boopons over seven days. Both require Level 5 and Events unlocked through the Prologue. Their shared deadline is December 1 at 03:59 server time. Ten tapes plus ten Boopons are not twenty limited-Agent pulls.
For Area Patrol’s double rewards, reach Level 21, complete Path of the Proxy I, and unlock the activity. Combat Simulation’s bonus requires access through Chapter 1’s Cat’s Lost & Found. Farm materials needed by your active project and check the live bonus allowance; double rewards do not imply unlimited boosted runs. Official reward and eligibility details.
