Summary
The Genus Insight system in Aion 2 can grant your character an enormous amount of power and combat potential—but it's also easy to make costly mistakes, especially when you buy Aion 2 Kina to fund your rerolls. This guide breaks down the three essential rules for progressing your Genus boards efficiently, plus the exact stat lines you should aim for in the current version of the game.
Rule #1: Don't Lock Any Stats Before Level 9–10
When you level up your Genus board, all stats on that board are rerolled. While you can lock individual stats to preserve them, the cost escalates dramatically with each locked stat.
The math is brutal:
Locked Stats | Crystal Cost | Kinah Cost |
5 stats | 172 crystals | 43,000 kinah |
0 stats | 36 crystals | 9,000 kinah |
The problem is twofold:
Rolling becomes prohibitively expensive the more you lock.
It's much easier to roll good stats once you reach level 10.
The only exceptions are very specific scenarios where locking a particular stat early makes sense. But for most players—especially those unsure of what they're doing—simply level your Insight to 10 without locking anything.
Bottom line: Don't lock anything early.
Rule #2: Work with Presets—Don't Chase Only Heroic Stats
Heroic (orange) stats are the best rolls you can get, but they're incredibly rare and expensive to chase. Many players make the mistake of trying to roll perfect heroic stats on all nine slots from the start—this is a trap.
The Preset Strategy
Instead of chasing perfection immediately, use the three preset slots available:
First Preset (Offensive Focus): Create a layout that's good but not perfect. Focus only on offensive stats. Unique (golden) stats are perfectly fine here. Complete all five boards with this preset first.
Second Preset (Min-Max): Once your first preset is complete across all boards, start working on a fully optimized second preset.
Third Preset: Reserved for further specialization or PvP-oriented builds.
This approach ensures you gain significant power quickly without getting stuck in an endless rolling cycle. Players who try to min-max from day one—especially those who can't farm 20 hours a day—will likely never finish their Genus Insight.
Bottom line: Build a solid first preset with mixed heroic and unique stats, then min-max later.
Rule #3: Follow the Correct Rolling Order
Not all stats are created equal, and the order in which you roll them matters enormously. Locking seven or eight stats before rolling a critical slot can cost you 300+ crystals per attempt—and you might still get a low roll.
Understanding Board Structure
All five Genus boards share a similar layout, with one key difference: Slot 4.
Slot(s) | Stat Type |
1 & 5 | Attack stats (attack bonus, max attack, PvE attack, boss attack, back attack, penetration) |
3, 6 & 9 | Accuracy & Critical Hit stats |
2 & 8 | Pure defensive stats (HP increase, defense bonus, back defense, crit hit resist) |
7 | Hybrid defensive/offensive (PvE attack, accuracy bonus) |
4 | Board-specific, most powerful slot |
Slot 4 is always the best slot on every board. It contains damage multipliers like:
Critical Damage Boost
Damage Boost
PvE Damage Boost
Weapon Damage Boost (Ferra board)
Double Chance (Special board)
Front/Back Attack Damage Boost (Varian board)
The Correct Rolling Order
Start with Slot 4. Always. Roll this slot first, no matter what. Its value equals the entire rest of your board combined. Don't accept a low roll just because you've already locked other stats—this is why you roll it first.
Roll offensive stats next. After Slot 4, roll all attack stats (Slots 1 & 5) and accuracy stats (Slots 3, 6, 9, and 7). These are easier to hit and will come quickly.
Skip defensive stats for your first preset. Defensive stats are for your second, min-maxed preset.
Exact Stat Lines to Aim For
Slots 1 & 5 (Attack Slots)
Many guides will tell you to chase Attack Bonus and Max Attack. In the current version of Aion 2, this is no longer optimal.
Why the change? The Korean and Taiwanese versions had more percentage multipliers that boosted Attack Bonus and Max Attack. In our version, many of those multipliers were removed, making PvE Attack, Back Attack, and Boss Attack relatively stronger.
Priority | Stat |
Best | PvE Attack, Boss Attack, Back Attack (for assassins), Front Attack (for positional classes) |
Still Good | Attack Bonus, Max Attack |
Recommendation: For your first board, go for all four attack values if you're an assassin (you'll always hit from behind). If you're not an assassin, roll for PvE Attack, Boss Attack, and either Back or Front Attack depending on your class. This makes it much easier to hit something useful.
For min-maxing: PvE Attack and Boss Attack are slightly better in our version.
Slots 3, 6 & 9 (Accuracy & Crit Slots)
In our version, Accuracy is more valuable than Critical Hit because crit chance was reduced from 80% to 50%, while boss crit resistance remained unchanged. Most players will hit crit thresholds anyway.
Stat | Minimum Quality | Notes |
Accuracy Bonus | Unique | Preferred stat |
Critical Hit | Heroic | Only lock if it's a god roll |
PvE Accuracy | Unique | Also strong |
Recommendation: Prioritize accuracy. If you get a god-tier heroic Critical Hit roll, that's fine too—but accuracy is the safer bet.
Slot 7 (Hybrid Slot)
For your first preset, go full offensive here:
Accuracy Bonus (Unique minimum)
Critical Hit (Heroic minimum, only if god roll)
Later, for your perfect preset, you can consider PvE damage tolerance or other hybrid stats.
Slot 4 (Board-Specific—The Most Important Slot)
Each board has different optimal stats for Slot 4:
Cognney Board
Stat | Priority |
PvE Damage Boost | Best |
Damage Boost | Very good (equal value in PvE) |
Critical Damage Boost | Situational (god roll + crit-heavy class) |
Note: Damage Boost and PvE Damage Boost have identical value in PvE. Damage Boost is also better for PvP. Critical Damage Boost is only worth it if you have a 2.8–3% roll AND your class crits constantly (e.g., Gladiator with Overhead Slam).
Ferra Board
Stat | Priority |
PvE Damage Boost | Best in theory |
Weapon Damage Boost | Very strong (independent multiplier on equipment attack) |
Damage Boost | Very strong |
Note: Weapon Damage Boost multiplies your equipment attack independently from other damage multipliers, making it less affected by diminishing returns.
Nura Board
Stat | Priority |
PvE Damage Boost | Only stat worth rolling |
Warning: Multi-hit Chance and Perfect Chance are bait stats. Do not roll for them.
Varian Board
Stat | Priority |
Back Attack Damage Boost | Slightly better than PvE Damage Boost |
Front Attack Damage Boost | Slightly better than PvE Damage Boost |
PvE Damage Boost | Still excellent |
Note: Front/Back Attack Damage Boost is marginally better due to diminishing returns on PvE Damage Boost. If you're already a positional class (Templar, Assassin), definitely go for these. If you're ranged (Sorcerer, Spirit Master), PvE Damage Boost is perfectly fine—the difference is small in Season 1.
Special Board
Stat | Priority |
Double Chance | Best for most classes |
Front/Back Attack Damage Boost | Good for positional classes |
Note: Double Chance is an independent multiplier that doubles your damage—incredibly strong. Don't force yourself to become a positional class just for this stat. If you're ranged, stick with Double Chance.
Summary: The Three Rules
Don't lock anything before level 9–10. If unsure, level to 10 without locking anything.
Work with presets. Build a decent first preset with mixed heroic and unique stats. Min-max on your second preset later.
Always start with Slot 4. Roll your most important slot first before locking anything else. Then roll offensive stats (attack and accuracy). Save defensive stats for your second preset.
Quick Reference: Stat Priorities by Slot
Slot | First Preset Priority | Min-Max Priority |
1 & 5 | PvE Attack, Boss Attack, Back/Front Attack, Attack Bonus | PvE Attack, Boss Attack |
3, 6, 9 | Accuracy Bonus (Unique), PvE Accuracy (Unique), Crit Hit (Heroic) | Accuracy Bonus, PvE Accuracy |
7 | Accuracy Bonus (Unique), Crit Hit (Heroic) | Hybrid/Defensive |
4 | Board-specific (see above) | Board-specific (perfect rolls) |
2 & 8 | Skip for first preset | Defensive stats |
By following these three rules and targeting the right stats, you'll progress your Genus Insight efficiently—gaining significant power quickly without wasting resources chasing impossible perfect rolls from the start. If you'd rather skip the grind, you can Aion 2 Kina buy from MMOEXP, a trusted marketplace for safe and convenient currency purchases.
