The official Windchaser's Departure event is live from September 25 through December, giving players plenty of time to collect Irisalis Petals and craft the Legendary Aniipod.
How to Get Irisalis in Aniimo
The first target is 99 Irisalis Petals.
Once you have enough, you can craft the Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis, which opens the Rift encounter where you fight and befriend Irisalis. Current launch guides and the official event information agree that 99 Petals are required for the first Legendary Aniipod.
The important part is that these Petals are not locked behind a direct cash purchase. They come from normal progression and event activities, including weekly sources and permanent progression rewards.
That makes Irisalis fundamentally different from a premium cosmetic. You can work toward her simply by playing Aniimo.
Farm Irisalis Petals Before Spending Them
There are several ways to build your Petal total.
Weekly activities can provide additional Petals, while permanent progression sources include encounters, Elite Pathfinder content, Journey rewards, badges and other exploration milestones.
One particularly useful weekly activity is Memory: The Faded Rainbow, which can provide three Petals per completion and can be run twice each week according to current event data.
The key rule is simple: protect your first 99 Petals.
The event shop contains other attractive rewards, but spending too early can delay your Irisalis unlock. Once you have crafted your first Legendary Aniipod, you can decide whether additional seasonal rewards are worth the remaining Petals.
Irisalis Unlocks Aniimo Transmog
After you become allies with Irisalis, her exclusive Transmog feature becomes available. This system changes her appearance rather than her combat statistics. The available cosmetic categories include Color, Wings, Headwear, Body and Effects/Sparkling.
This is where the system becomes much more complicated.
There are two important currencies:
Glimmering Driftshadow is the more accessible currency and can be obtained through event-related rewards.
Radiant Dreamshadow is the premium Transmog currency and is primarily associated with paid progression.
For free-to-play players, Glimmering Driftshadow is therefore the resource you should protect.
The Biggest Aniimo Transmog Mistake
The most important trick is understanding the lock system.
When you roll a Transmog result, you can use the result history and save presets. This means you do not necessarily need to immediately lock the first good-looking combination you find.
Community testing currently indicates that Glimmering Driftshadow can reroll the early Transmog sections, while locking a desirable part forces the more expensive premium currency route.
That makes the safest strategy:
Use your free currency first. Save good results in your preset/history. Do not lock expensive cosmetic parts just because you like one roll.
This is especially important because you can maintain multiple presets, allowing you to experiment with different Irisalis appearances without immediately committing to a premium reroll path.
Save Your Glimmering Driftshadow
The Transmog system is easy to misunderstand because the game presents premium currency alongside free currency.
Current guides confirm that the free currency is useful for early Transmog progression, including Color, Wings and Headwear, while later cosmetic progression can require Radiant Dreamshadow.
That means free players can still create dramatically different Irisalis appearances without buying premium currency. You just need to be patient and avoid wasting your free rerolls before understanding the progression system.
The cosmetic system does not improve Irisalis' combat stats, so there is also no gameplay requirement to chase the most expensive appearance.
Is Irisalis Worth Getting?
From a collection perspective, Irisalis is currently much more important than a normal cosmetic unlock because she is a limited Legendary tied to the Windchaser's Departure event.
But you do not need to rush into the Transmog shop.
First, collect your 99 Petals. Then craft the Legendary Aniipod and complete the Irisalis encounter. After that, start experimenting with Transmog using your free resources.
The strongest lesson from the current system is not "spend more." It is the opposite: understand which currency you are using before every roll.
Irisalis herself can be earned through normal play, while the expensive part of the system is largely about chasing additional cosmetic customization. With careful use of Glimmering Driftshadow and presets, you can get a very different-looking Legendary and Aniimo Boosting without immediately committing to premium currency.
