ARC Raiders: The Ultimate Guide to Disarming Mines in Locked Gate Trials

ARC Raiders Apr-08-2026 PST

In the world of ARC Raiders, a brand new challenge has arrived in the form of the Locked Gate Trial. This week's trial requires players to disarm mines scattered across a vast area, with the added challenge of competing against other players for the same mine spawns. For those unfamiliar, this trial is tricky, requiring both strategy and quick thinking to secure the best possible score.

ARC Raiders: The Ultimate Guide to Disarming Mines in Locked Gate Trials

In this guide, we'll cover the best routes, the optimal loadouts, and the most effective strategies to disarm mines successfully while minimizing competition. Although this is a brand new trial and some strategies are still evolving, we've got a solid foundation to help you get a 3-star rating and optimize your chances for a high score.

Understanding the Locked Gate Trial

The Locked Gate Trial features mines that are scattered across multiple locations in the game. Players must rush to find and disarm as many mines as possible before other players can get to them. The catch? You're competing against others for the same spawn points, which means time is of the essence.

The mines spawn in specific areas, and the trial's difficulty increases as more players participate. Here are the key spawn locations to keep in mind:

1.Ancient Fort: A hotspot for mines, this location offers a large number of spawns, making it a prime area to farm for points.

2.Trappers Glade: Mines spawn here as well, and while the area isn't as densely packed as Ancient Fort, it's worth checking out.

3.Reinforced Reception: There are mines here too, but they're less frequent, making it more of a secondary option for disarming.

4.Pilgrim's Peak: This area has several mine spawns that players often overlook, but it can be incredibly efficient for getting a high score if you know where to look.

Strategy for the Trial

The key to maximizing your score in this trial is simple: get to the mines before others and disarm them efficiently. However, as you're not the only one after these mines, it's important to be strategic with your approach.

Key Tactics for Success

Timing is everything: The best time to attempt this trial is usually in the middle of the week, after most players have already completed their trials. This minimizes the competition and gives you a much better chance to farm for points without being rushed.

Focus on mine clusters: Some areas are more densely packed with mines than others. Ancient Fort and Pilgrim's Peak are your best bets for high mine density, meaning you can potentially get a 3-star rating in a single location if you're efficient enough.

Listen for audio cues: The mines emit a distinctive ticking sound when they're nearby. It's crucial to turn up your game's audio so you can hear them from a distance. This will allow you to pinpoint their location and save you time in locating them.

Don't waste time on hard-to-find mines: If you're having difficulty locating a mine or it's well-hidden in the terrain, consider moving on to the next location. Wasting time chasing after one mine that's hard to find can cost you precious seconds.

Avoid unnecessary fights: Players will sometimes engage in combat over mines, but remember that disarming the mines is the goal. If a fight breaks out and it seems like it'll slow you down, it's better to disengage and move on to another area with fewer competitors.

Best Loadouts for Disarming Mines

When participating in the Locked Gate Trial, the right gear can make a huge difference. Here's what we recommend for optimal performance:

1.Photoelectric Cloak: This item is crucial for dealing with the rocketeers and ARC that will frequently get in your way. Without it, you'll be slowed down, miss mines, or be vulnerable to attack. This item will help you stay mobile and avoid damage while disarming mines.

2.Stim Packs: Bringing along as many stim packs as you can is vital for healing quickly and ensuring that you can keep moving without stopping for long periods to recover health. The fast-paced nature of this trial demands constant movement and staying topped up on health.

3.Gun (Arc): A reliable weapon like the Arc Gun will be crucial for taking out any ARC enemies or rocketeers that might hinder your progress. Make sure to have something that deals quick damage to avoid unnecessary delays.

4.Good Armor: Armor that increases your resistances will help you survive when you inevitably take hits from enemies. Look for armor that boosts your mobility and gives you more health for added survivability.

Route Breakdown and Map Strategy

Now, let's dive into the routes you should consider taking. Here's a breakdown of the approach I've found to be most effective.Ancient Fort-A Mine-Laden Hotspot

The Ancient Fort is one of the best spots to farm for mines. It's filled with multiple spawn points that are relatively easy to find, and the mines are scattered across wide areas. Here's how you can maximize your efficiency here:

Start by moving to Ancient Fort as soon as you spawn. You'll have a better chance of grabbing mines before other players.

The mines are often hidden in the tall grass, so use the audio cues to pinpoint their location.

Speed is critical: Once you disarm a mine, move quickly to the next spawn point to avoid competition.

The middle of the week is usually less populated in this area, so consider farming mines during this time to get a head start on disarming them without much interference.

Pilgrim's Peak-Hidden Goldmine

While Pilgrim's Peak may seem like a secondary location at first, it's actually one of the best-kept secrets for high mine density. Here's how to approach it:

Pilgrim's Peak is a great spot because most players don't bother with it, assuming the spawns are scarce.

Look for mines in the back of the area and along the edges of the map. The terrain is less obstructed here, so you can often spot mines easily.

There's a high density of mines in this area, and if you're lucky enough to find an unclaimed section, you can rack up a lot of points quickly.

Use the audio cues to locate mines in hidden spots, and don't forget to check the outskirts of the map. There are often mines around the back that players miss.

Reinforced Reception-A Secondary Option

The Reinforced Reception area has fewer mines than Ancient Fort or Pilgrim's Peak, but it's still worth checking out if you're in the area. Here's the strategy for it:

You may need to move around more to find mines here, as they're not as densely packed.

Mines here can be hidden, so be patient and check the bushes and tall grass carefully.

This area is more competitive, so if other players are already clearing out mines, consider moving on to another location.

Trappers Glade-A Mixed Bag

The Trappers Glade area is another spot with decent mine density. The terrain can make it difficult to spot mines, but if you're patient, you can do well here:

Stay vigilant and keep an ear out for the ticking sounds that will guide you to mines.

You might need to navigate the trees and shrubs, so be prepared for less visibility.

Check the edges of the map as mines often spawn in these more secluded areas.

Tips for Maximizing Your Score

1.Aim for 3-Star Ratings: In one area like Ancient Fort or Pilgrim's Peak, you can three-star the trial by efficiently disarming mines in that specific region.

2.Focus on Audio Cues: The ticking sound will be your best friend in locating mines. Make sure your game's audio is cranked up so you can hear mines from a distance.

3.Strategic Spawn Locations: If you're lucky enough to spawn in an optimal area, like Ancient Fort or Pilgrim's Peak, take full advantage of it and disarm as many mines as possible.

4.Be Patient: Sometimes, it's more efficient to leave an area if the mines are too hard to find or if other players are already competing for them. Don't waste too much time searching for one elusive mine.

5.Time Your Runs: As mentioned earlier, midweek offers a better chance at fewer competitors, making it easier to complete the trial and rack up points.

Mastering the Locked Gate Trial

Disarming mines during the Locked Gate Trial in ARC Raiders is all about speed, strategy, and audio awareness. By focusing on the best spawn locations, using the right loadout, and timing your attempts, you can secure high scores and achieve the elusive 3-star rating. While some of the strategies are still evolving, Ancient Fort and Pilgrim's Peak remain the best locations for high mine density. Therefore, provided you are sufficiently prepared, you can easily achieve the maximum score—securing even more rare resources such as ARC Raiders blueprints/items, coins, and more. Good luck!
