Summary:
The ARC Raiders 1.42 update introduces Phantom Targets Part 2, adding a new Glitched Wasp variant, additional Raider Project objectives, regional map condition scheduling, and several useful rewards. This guide combines basic Phantom Targets information with the fastest Part 2 strategies, covering efficient Glitched ARC material farming and the Fireworks challenge to help players progress through the project quickly using ARC Raiders Items and claim the free Anomalia outfit.
1. Phantom Targets Part 2 Overview
The Phantom Targets investigation continues after Shani discovers that some Wasps are behaving strangely. These Glitched Wasps fly unpredictably, make unusual sounds, and carry unidentified ARC technology.
The new project focuses mainly on collecting special ARC materials. Players need Glitched Wasp Parts, ARC Phase Arrays, ARC Transmitters, Glitched ARC Light Rings, and Glitched ARC Circuitry. Later objectives also require regular materials and a fireworks challenge.
Glitched Wasps are not much stronger than normal Wasps, making them the best starting point for most players.
2. Farm Glitched ARC Parts
After killing a Glitched Wasp, search its husk carefully. The new parts can have different rarities and are needed for Project progression. Some materials are also worth several thousand coins.
Other ARC enemies can drop Glitched parts, including Fireflies, Surveyors, Bastions, and Shredders. However, avoid specifically hunting Rocketeers or Vaporizers because they require more effort and are less efficient than Wasps.
Keep materials required for the Project instead of selling them immediately. Unneeded parts can be recycled into ARC Alloy, Electrical Components, and Exodus Modules.
3. Use an Osprey and Snitch Scanner
For faster farming, bring an Osprey with an extended barrel. Shoot Wasps from a distance to attract them toward you rather than searching across the map.
Snitch Scanners can make this strategy even more efficient. Activate a scanner and use your Osprey to attract Wasps from long range. Once they approach, eliminate them and loot their husks.
Dam is especially useful because its open areas make enemies easier to control, while fewer dangerous large ARC units interfere with farming.
4. Collect Thermal Lining and Other Materials
Some objectives require ARC Thermal Lining, which can take longer to collect. Focus on Comets and Probes, especially around Riven Tides, where Comets can provide useful materials.
Do not ignore other ARC enemies. Circuitry and Advanced ARC Power Cells can also be collected during normal raids, allowing you to complete several requirements at once.
Combining farming objectives in the same raid is more efficient than extracting after completing only one task.
5. Complete the Fireworks Challenge
The final combat objective requires 100 damage to a flying ARC using fireworks. First, unlock the Fireworks Box Blueprint and craft Fireworks Boxes with Pop Triggers and Explosive Compound.
A Firefly is the easiest target. Use a Showstopper to knock it down, then place the Fireworks Box near the grounded enemy. The box can continue dealing damage while the Firefly is down.
If necessary, use another Showstopper and repeat the process. This is much easier than hitting a moving flying ARC directly with fireworks.
6. Check Regional Map Conditions
Update 1.42 changes map condition scheduling from one global schedule to regional schedules. North America, Europe, and Asia can therefore have different active conditions at the same time.
Check the region shown on the map selection screen. If you are looking for Night Raid, Matriarch, or Harvester, another region may offer the event you want.
However, changing regions can increase ping, so only switch when the additional map condition is worth the connection trade-off, and consider whether to buy ARC Raiders Items in advance to prepare for the runs you target.
7. Claim Phantom Targets Rewards
Completing Part 2 provides rewards including the Fireworks Blueprint, Crash Map Blueprint, weapon attachments, Anvil 4, Anvil Splitter, and Computer Mouse Backpack Charm.
The wider Phantom Targets reward track also includes the Anomalia outfit, which can be unlocked for free through progression.
Overall, farm Glitched Wasps with an Osprey, use Snitch Scanners to bring them toward you, collect Thermal Lining from Comets and Probes, and finish the fireworks objective with a Showstopper and Fireworks Box. This combines the main Phantom Targets objectives with Part 2 farming methods, reducing unnecessary raids and making the event easier to complete.
